Even attempting to swallow an elephant whole, treating a top-tier demonic being who had gone through spiritual metamorphosis as prey... was...
Delightful!
Evelyn Walker squinted, nodding, "We certainly can’t let this creature succeed, or we’ll be in danger from here on out. I agree."
Gary Smith sighed in relief. It was good that she agreed. In conversation, he mentioned a few spots he had forecasted through the Eye of Truth. She actually knew all of them, but pretended to take them seriously, just wanting to spend more time with him...
After the exchange, Gary Smith, never one to leave empty-handed, hadn’t forgotten to bring along the corpses of a few more Limb Demons.
Even a mosquito is meat.
Evelyn Walker watched him go quietly, retracting her deep gaze. This plan was a good opportunity to get closer to him, and she would put all she had into it.
Although Bob Chandler wasn’t of much use now, he was still needed to aid in the destruction of the ceremony.
She approached the still-stunned Bob Chandler, calling gently,
"Cousin, you weren’t frightened, were you?"
"I wasn’t scared at all!" Bob Chandler, having collected himself, retorted loudly. Hating to lose face, he couldn’t help but claim, "I was just experiencing the great fear before death to temper my will. It’s unfortunate that Gary Smith interrupted. Forget it, I won’t hold it against him. As my arch-nemesis, he really is a tiny bit stronger than me..."
As he spoke, he decked a gesture of the Peacock Dance, but the Copper-armored Baboon behind him, seeking revenge on its master who had only a hard mouth, silently mimicked the same gesture. Only, the radius of the gesture was about the same size as Bob’s head.
A real tiny bit!
Evelyn Walker said with a smile,
"As long as you’re not scared. That’s perfect, as we’re about to face more Limb Demons. We’ll be relying on you."
"What?!"
............
Dawn break in the Secret Realm of the Wild Ant Tomb.
Compared to the outer world, the vegetation here had drastically reduced, being replaced by clusters of hardy plants like cacti. This presented a stark contrast to the flourishing life, showcasing instead, the tenacity of life.
The land was scored open by rivulets, leaving a wilderness covered in dry, bare rock everywhere, reflecting against the sprawling sands and pebbles of the desert, presenting layers of clear sepia.
Deeper in, on the gobi of the Desert Wilderness blanketed in blood-red soil, stood numerous stone pillars engraved with mysterious runes. Together, they formed a giant, eerie array; its coverage was incredibly vast.
Within the array, a giant ring entwined with tentacles was drawn in fresh blood. Inside the ring were nine smaller rings, layered and interlaced, forming the pattern of an eye.
A large number of oddly-shaped Limb Demons placed hearts imbued with Spiritual Power into it.
Crack!
The hearts melted instantly, mixing with the extracted red and white brain marrow, being absorbed by the eye pattern below.
Then...
It came alive!
Countless eyes on the ground revolved, opened, closed, as if at this moment,
The earth had resurrected!
Even the scope of the instrument track was still expanding outwards relentlessly.
At the center position of these stone pillars stood a huge dark, red altar forged using an unknown metal. It was shaped like countless arms stretched out, resembling a lotus plucked from the Sea of Blood in Hell.
Upon the altar, the ancient ballad floated over the Desert Wilderness, with each ritual node lighting up:
"...Awaken, oh god... Break through the cage..."
