Chapter 149: The Only One Truly Disgraced is Him
Chapter 149: Chapter 149: The Only One Truly Disgraced is Him
Old Madam Lu snorted coldly, "You can run from the monks, but not from the temple! Even if we don’t know where Lu Zhenguo and the others are living, Lu Youxi can’t escape while she’s studying at Jing University. We’ll just go to Jing University and find Lu Youxi! If she refuses to see us, we’ll make a scene! Let’s see who gets embarrassed! After making a scene, we’ll just head home. Lu Youxi still has to continue at school!"
As Old Madam Lu spoke, she became angrier, and her voice grew louder.
Her noisy complaints filled the entire train carriage.
Because she was arguing with Ge Guifen using coarse language, everyone in the carriage looked over with dissatisfaction.
Lu Youbang could only whisper softly, "Granny, I know you’re angry, but Lu Youxi won’t be scared of your commotion. The more you make a scene, the happier she will be. Why do you think she asked you to come to the school today? It was for you to make a scene. People at the school won’t believe you like they do in our village."
Old Madam Lu frowned and pouted, "These students are really strange."
But thinking about what the students had said and their reactions today, Old Madam Lu believed Lu Youbang’s words.
"Forget it, let’s not go then," Old Madam Lu said reluctantly.
Lu Youbang breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that if they really did make a scene, Lu Youxi wouldn’t be the one embarrassed, she would rather gain sympathy.
The only one who would truly be embarrassed was him.

While Lu Youbang was still on the road with the Lu Family’s elders, Zhang Tianhai had already driven into the residential area where Lu Youxi rented her apartment.
Although it was an old neighborhood, it was many times better than what Lu Zhenguo and his group had imagined before they came.
The neighborhood, despite its age, was well maintained.
The buildings were clean and bright.
The high-rise building Lu Youxi rented had an elevator.
"Is this where you rent, Youxi?" Liu Yushu got out of the car and looked up at the tall building.
This was far beyond her expectations, much better than where they lived in Hexing Village.
It was clean and bright.
"Yes," Lu Youxi nodded. "The place I rented isn’t considered too great, but with my current financial situation, it’s a decent place I could afford."
"It’s already very nice!" Liu Yushu looked at the nice place, feeling sorry for Lu Youxi. "You are working so hard! We thought we could probably come next year at the earliest. Who knew you’d have gotten everything ready in less than a month since you arrived here. You tire yourself out too much!"
"It’s okay; getting you here sooner rather than later eases my mind," Lu Youxi said. "Having you here makes me feel more settled."
"Miss Lu, I’ve brought you all here, so I’ll be taking my leave," Zhang Tianhai said, taking out the luggage.
He did want to help carry the luggage upstairs.
But he felt that if he went up, Lu Youxi would definitely invite him inside.
The house had just been set up, and their CEO hadn’t even stepped inside yet, so he couldn’t precede him.
So, he simply left it at the building entrance.
"Brother Zhang, I really can’t thank you enough this time," Lu Youxi expressed her gratitude.
She hadn’t expected Zhou Shuyan to find someone to help.
Zhang Tianhai had already picked up Lu Zhenguo and the others on their way to Jing University, only then Zhou Shuyan mentioned it to Lu Youxi.
Liu Yushu caught Zhang Tianhai’s attention, "Xiao Zhang, once we’ve settled in, you must come to our home for a meal. I am quite skilled in cooking."
"Ah, sure!" Zhang Tianhai readily agreed with a smile.
Liu Yushu and Lu Zhenguo incessantly thanked him, watching as Zhang Tianhai got into his car and drove away.
Liu Yushu still mused, "Xiao Zhou really has good friends."
Lu Youxi smiled and said, "Dad, mom, Youxue, let’s head upstairs."
"Of course," Liu Yushu could hardly contain her excitement.
Lu Youxi picked up two pieces of luggage and led them into the building.
She pressed the elevator button.
"Big sis, what is this?" Lu Youxue had never ridden in an elevator before.
"This is an elevator; with this, you don’t need to climb the stairs," Lu Youxi explained. "These are common in the city; I’ll take you all to the malls and restaurants during holidays."
Lu Zhenguo and Liu Yushu, who had also never used an elevator, were just as curious and amazed as they stepped inside.
They watched as Lu Youxi pressed the floor button.
While explaining, Lu Youxi demonstrated, "In the future, just do this—press the up arrow to go up and the down arrow to go down. Once inside, our home is on the 6th floor, so press 6, and then this close door button."
Shortly after entering, the elevator stopped.
"We’re here," Lu Youxi said.
"We’re already here? That was quick," Liu Yushu exclaimed.
"Yes," Lu Youxi replied, stepping out first with the luggage.
Because of the amount of luggage, Liu Yushu was startled when the elevator doors began to close as she was exiting. Lu Youxi quickly intervened to hold the doors.
"Elevators are like this; they close automatically after a set time. So, if you’re riding together, someone should keep pressing the open door button to prevent it from closing," Lu Youxi patiently explained.
"Right, I just didn’t know and got startled, but I’ll get used to it," Liu Yushu reassured Lu Youxi.
Upon reaching the front door of their new home, Lu Youxi took out keys and handed one to Lu Zhenguo, Liu Yushu, and Lu Youxue, "Keep these safe; these are our home keys."
"Ah!" Liu Yushu was thrilled, fiddling with the small key repeatedly.
Lu Youxue held his key, excitedly asking, "I have one too?"
"Of course," Lu Youxi smiled. "You need it for when you come home from school, right?"
"Take care of your key, don’t lose it," Liu Yushu instructed. "Tonight, I’ll find a string to attach it, so you can wear it around your neck."
"Okay," Lu Youxue handed his key to Liu Yushu, "Mom, you hold onto it for now."
"Alright," Liu Yushu secured Lu Youxue’s key.
Lu Youxi then asked, "Mom, Dad, who wants to open the door?"
Lu Zhenguo replied, "Yushu, why don’t you do it?"
"Okay," Liu Yushu chuckled, her excitement barely contained.
This place was now their new home, their little home.
Although they still had to pay rent to the landlord, it made her feel much more comfortable than giving money to the Lu Family’s elders.
Liu Yushu used the key to open the door.
The door swung open, revealing a bright, clean burst of sunshine that made the hallway seem much brighter.
Liu Yushu hurried inside, helping to bring in the luggage one by one.
Lu Youxi took slippers out from the shoe cabinet for them, "This isn’t Hexing Village anymore; we don’t need to change shoes coming in and out. Now that our home is so clean, wear outside shoes for going out and switch to slippers when you come home. This way, we can keep the house less dusty."
"Right," Liu Yushu nodded, switching to the slippers.
