Chapter 203: Chapter 203 Tension in air (Volume 3)

Lucas, oblivious to the reactions around him, continued his tirade. "And Kyky, I even forgot how to hunt properly! I chased my own tail for hours, thinking it was a rabbit! And let’s not even talk about the time I tried to catch fish and ended up falling into the river."

Kyra couldn’t help but chuckle weakly, her pain momentarily forgotten by Lucas’s antics.

The healer sighed deeply and muttered to himself, "I need a long vacation."

Lucas, still clueless, brightened up at Kyra’s laugh. "See! My Kyky is getting better already! With my presence, right?"

"Your presence is my best medicine," Kyra replied with a weak smile. She sat up straight, her long hair falling from her shoulder. Her fair skin was pale, and though she looked weak, her face held a mature charm that had grown through her experiences.

Lucas’s eyes widened with admiration. "Kyky, you’re as beautiful as ever! Even when you’re sick, you look like a queen."

Kyra chuckled softly, shaking her head at his antics. "You’re impossible, Lucas."

Vincent, watching the scene, allowed a small smile to tug at his lips.

Kyra’s voice felt dry as she asked, "What’s the time?"

"It’s 8:23 pm," Vincent replied, noticing her dry throat. "I’ll get you some water."

"Here," Damon said, walking into the room. As he approached Kyra, his face softened, and he handed her a glass of water.

Kyra smiled, "Thank you, Damon."

"No need to thank me," Damon said, his sharp eyes softening as he sat next to her, holding her hand. "I’m just glad you’re okay..."

He would never forget her bravery. The way she fought was no less than any powerful male.

Vincent’s eyes turned cold.

Lucas, noticing the new face, studied Damon with interest. Damon had striking silver eyes and sharp, yet incredibly handsome features. His long blue hair fell in waves, he was tall and undeniably gorgeous.

"You look good! Thank you for taking care of Kyra in our absence," he commented.

Damon raised his eyebrows, biting the inside of his cheek to suppress his jealousy. "You’re welcome. It’s not every day I get to protect someone so important while others are off gallivanting."

"Watch your words," Vincent said, his voice cold as he raised his fist, his jaw clenched.

"Damon..." Kyra pulled his arm, sensing the rising tension. "Please don’t! It’s because of an accident we were separated. They are the best mates I could ask for," she said, suddenly starting to cough.

Before the tension could escalate further, Healer Angelo cleared his throat loudly. "Gentlemales, Kyra needs rest and care, not your posturing."

Damon’s glare remained fixed on Vincent, but he nodded. "For now."

Healer Angelo sighed, hoping the fragile peace would hold long enough for Kyra to heal.

However, Lucas didn’t say anything, keeping his eyes fixed on Damon.

"I will get you some food, little thing," Damon spoke in an intimate tone, causing Vincent to feel a surge of anger and a tightening sensation in his chest.

"No need. We will arrange it ourselves. After all, it’s not pleasant to rely on the help of an outsider," Vincent said, emphasizing the last word.

"Oh, come on. Little thing and I are not strangers. We’ve been sleeping in the same bed together and cooking together. She even loves the food I make," Damon said with a smirk.

Vincent’s eyes narrowed, his fists clenching. "Well, things are different now. She’s back with us, where she belongs."

Kyra, sensing the tension, tried to diffuse it. "Everyone, please..."

Lucas finally spoke, his voice calm but firm. "Vince is right. We appreciate your help, Damon, but we’ll take it from here."

Damon’s smirk faded slightly, but he maintained his defiant gaze.

Healer Angelo sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "Gentlemales, Kyra’s recovery is the priority. Let’s keep that in mind."

The room fell into an uneasy silence as everyone took a step back, the unspoken tension lingering in the air.

Kyra looked at the healer with grateful eyes.

"I will get you food, little thing," Damon said, and without wasting time, he walked outside. Vincent, needing some time to cool off, also stepped outside to calm his anger. The healer followed him, leaving the room in a tense silence.

Once the door closed, Kyra suddenly felt a pair of lips on hers. Lucas held her gently, but his kiss was anything but gentle; he was devouring her mouth with a fierce passion.

"Lucas..." Kyra moaned softly as she let him continue, her body responding to his intensity despite her weakness.

"Hmm.. Ky-ky, you got yourself a powerful admirer, right?" Lucas muttered as he bit her lips.

"No..." Kyra whispered, feeling sensations she hadn’t felt since being separated from them. Lucas was igniting a fire within her.

"No? But I heard you already slept with him on the same bed," Lucas said, his voice tinged with jealousy.

"Are you jealous?" Kyra looked at him with wide eyes.

"Any doubt?" he replied, kissing her lips again. "Compensate me for my loss, Kyky."

Kyra smiled softly, her heart racing. "And how do I do that?"

Lucas’s eyes darkened with desire as he pulled her closer. "By never letting me out of your sight again."

And he couldn’t describe in words how much pain he felt. Although when she woke up, he tried to act as usual, it was only to make her happy; he didn’t want her to feel any sadness.

He couldn’t describe the pain when he heard Damon’s words; it pierced his heart. However, he didn’t show it. He kept his expression calm and focused on Kyra, determined not to let his jealousy and hurt overshadow their reunion.

"I missed you so much," he murmured between kisses, his voice filled with emotion. "Promise me you’ll never leave us again."

Kyra held his face, kissing him all over. "I love you, Lucas. I never thought of leaving you. I missed you so much. I missed cuddling with you. I missed everything..." Kyra said, her eyes becoming teary as tears fell from her eyes.

Lucas, seeing her tears, gently wiped them away with his thumb. "Hey, hey, no more tears," he said softly. "You know, if you keep crying like that, you’ll flood the room, and I’ll have to learn to swim."

Kyra let out a small laugh through her tears.

"And you know I’m a terrible swimmer," Lucas continued, a playful grin on his face. "I might just drown, and then who will keep you warm at night? Plus, think about poor Vincent he have to build a boat just to visit you!"

Kyra giggled, sniffling a bit.

"See? Much better," Lucas said, kissing her forehead. "Your smile is my favorite thing in the world, Ky-ky. Don’t ever lose it."

Kyra nodded, her tears replaced by a tender smile. "Thank you, Lucas. I love you so much."

"I love you too," Lucas replied, holding her close. "Now, let’s focus on getting you better so we can make up for all the lost cuddles."
