Damon smiled. "You deserve to feel special, Kyra. Let’s get it for the contest." He handed some coins to the vendor and placed the necklace gently around her neck. "There, perfect."

Kyra blushed, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "Thank you, Damon. It’s lovely."

As she admired the necklace, she glanced back at Damon, who was scanning the shops around them. Her eyes lingered on his face, taking in his sharp features, his long blue hair that cascaded over his shoulders, and the way his lips curved slightly as he concentrated.
