My five ghostly husbands -
Chapter 95 Pillu wife
Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Pillu wife
Karl’s baby-blue eyes widened slightly as he stared at Adrian. For a moment, he didn’t say anything, his lips pressing into a thin line. Then, slowly, he nodded, his messy hair falling into his face.
"That... sounds fair," Karl muttered, his voice filled with hesitation. "At least we’ll be making things right in the end."
Adrian gave a small nod, his expression calm but firm. "It’s the only way we can move forward," he said.
Karl ran a hand through his hair again, this time more gently, as if trying to calm himself. "I just hope she doesn’t find out before we fix it... because if she does..." He trailed off, not daring to finish the thought.
Adrian’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t respond. Both of them knew Ruby well enough to realize that if she found out now, the consequences wouldn’t be pleasant.
After dinner, Ruby went to the washroom to freshen up. The cool water splashed on her face felt refreshing, washing away the remnants of the day’s frustration. She dried her face with a soft towel, adjusted her hair, and walked back to her room.
Her eyes landed on the computer as soon as she stepped in. The screen glowed faintly in the dim light, and the progress bar was still stuck at 39%. She sighed deeply, crossing her arms. "This thing is slower than I thought," she muttered to herself.
Deciding there was no point in staring at the screen, she walked to her bed and picked up the history book she had been reading about this world. Settling comfortably on the bed, she flipped through the pages, skipping the creation Chapter she had already read. Her fingers stopped at Chapter 2.
This Chapter focused on the southern countries and their festivals, customs, and geography. The content immediately drew her in. The festivals, in particular, were described in detail, each one unique and different. There were festivals celebrating the moon phases, where glowing lanterns floated in the sky like stars, and others that honored the spirits of the land with elaborate feasts and songs.
One festival celebrated the blooming of a rare magical flower that only blossomed once a decade, its petals glowing with soft, golden light. Entire villages gathered to witness it, and the description painted such a beautiful picture that Ruby couldn’t help but pause and imagine it.
When she finally set the book down, she noticed how late it had gotten.
"Wife..." Ruby heard a soft knock on her door, followed by Milo’s voice. She raised her brows, wondering what he wanted now, but stood up and opened the door.
It was, as expected, Milo.
"Wife, everyone’s going to watch Soulstream at Pillu’s house," he said, his honey-brown eyes sparkling with excitement. "We’re leaving now too, so please take care!"
Ruby nodded, watching as he turned and ran toward the hall without waiting for her response. She let out a small sigh and followed him, her steps calm and unhurried. She stood by the door as she watched Milo, Julian, Karl, and Adrian getting ready to leave.
Once they were gone, Ruby closed the door with a quiet click and turned back toward her room. As she walked, a thought popped into her head.
Pillu... isn’t he the ghost I met in the morning?
Her brows furrowed slightly as she replayed the brief morning interaction in her mind.

"I’ve been waiting for you all," Pillu said with a wide smile as they arrived. His laughter was so forced and fake that everyone immediately noticed it, exchanging quick glances.
"Thank you, Brother Pillu, for inviting us to watch Soulstream. You’re so kind," Max said, blinking his Hazel eyes cutely and flashing an innocent smile.
Pillu laughed loudly, waving his hand dismissively. "Haha, of course! I think of everyone as my brother. We should talk to each other more, share our problems, and help lighten each other’s burdens!" His voice boomed with exaggerated enthusiasm, making everyone stare at him strangely.
What’s wrong with him? the group collectively wondered.
"Okay, okay," Pillu said quickly, sensing the awkwardness. "We’ll talk later. Let’s watch the new episode of Seven Deadly Sins, alright?"
When the show was mentioned, everyone became excited. Pillu smiled, grabbed the remote, and turned on the Soulstream.
The room went quiet as the new episode started, the bright colors and dramatic music filling the space.
Kaelan face appeared on the screen. His sharp blue eyes and long golden hair stood out, but it was the hint of madness in his expression that gave everyone chills.
No one said a word as they watched, completely focused on the screen. The story was intense, and the emotions of the characters felt real.
After the episode ended, Pillu seemed eager for what he had been waiting for.
"Alright, the episode’s over. Let’s talk about each other now," Pillu said with a grin, catching everyone off guard. "Let’s start with Kenji. How’s everything at home? Is your wife treating you well?"
Kenji and the others were stunned by the sudden question. The most surprised were Angeline’s husbands. Pillu was known for rarely showing interest in others, except when it came to gossip. Why was he suddenly acting so curious? They exchanged suspicious glances.
Kenji, clearly uneasy, replied cautiously, "Everything’s fine. My wife is hardworking, and things are running smoothly." He deliberately kept his answer short, not liking the idea of sharing personal matters with someone like Pillu.
Hugo’s eyes narrowed as he watched Pillu closely, his suspicion growing. Something about this sudden interest didn’t feel right.
"Ah, your life seems fine, but my wife, Anabelle, hasn’t even come back home," Pillu sighed, his tone filled with sadness. Though his words sounded genuine, a hint of something else flickered in his expression as he cast a sad look at a photo on the wall.
Everyone followed his gaze to the photo, their eyes widening slightly. The picture showed his wife’s face—her large eyes seemed to stare directly into their souls, and her creepy smile revealed a set of unnervingly perfect teeth. Her two deep dimples only added to the eerie vibe of her small, doll-like face.
"I miss her every day," Pillu said suddenly, his voice filled with an uncharacteristic sadness. "So early in the morning, I always put flowers in front of her photo... Although my wife has money, but... what can I say?" He let out a long sigh, shaking his head.
Everyone looked at him with wide eyes, completely caught off guard.
Pillu quickly waved his hand as if brushing off his own emotions. "Forget about my wife. Let’s talk about Karl and other’s wife. You’re new here, so let us know more about your wife. We’re all brothers here, right?"
His voice was light, but his mind wandered back to Ruby. He couldn’t help but remember how stunning she had looked when he saw her earlier. Her red eyes, her calm face, her beauty—it lingered in his thoughts, and he couldn’t stop the flicker of jealousy that sparked in his chest.
Milo, however, was all too happy to jump into the conversation. "Oh, our wife is great!" he exclaimed, his honey-brown eyes lighting up with pride. "She’s awesome! You wouldn’t believe it—she even helped government workers with something they couldn’t figure out themselves!" milo adored his wife, and when Pillu asked about her, he couldn’t stop himself from proudly talking about how incredible she was.
Pillu raised an eyebrow, curious but also a little annoyed by Milo’s excitement. "Really?" he asked, his tone hinting at doubt.
"Really!" Milo nodded eagerly, his enthusiasm overflowing. "The government workers even gave her gifts and snacks because of how smart she is! My wife is amazing. She can do anything!"
Pillu let out a forced laugh, though his jaw tightened. "Sounds like you’re really proud of her," he said, trying to hide the jealousy inside him.
"Of course!" Milo grinned, completely unaware of Pillu’s feelings. "Why wouldn’t I be? She’s the best wife ever!"
The room grew quiet for a moment. Pillu’s fake smile stayed on his face as he tried to push away the bitterness he felt. He took a deep breath and let out another forced laugh. "Well, I’d like to meet her again someday. She must be really special."
"She is!" Milo beamed, completely oblivious. "You’d love her!"
Pillu’s smile tightened even more, but he said nothing. Deep down, he wondered why he couldn’t stop thinking about Miss Ruby.
Adrian’s sharp eyes didn’t miss the small changes in Pillu’s expression. The forced smiles, the overly enthusiastic tone—something about it didn’t sit right with him. His frown deepened as he observed Pillu’s reaction to Milo’s praise of Ruby. Why does he look so interested in our wife? Adrian thought, his unease growing. He wasn’t liking this at all.
Clearing his throat, Adrian spoke up, his tone calm but firm. "Oh, I remember—our wife asked us to come home early. She’ll get worried if we’re late," he said, his dark eyes locking onto Pillu’s with Dark intensity.
