My five ghostly husbands -
Chapter 62 Happiness
Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Happiness
Angeline had already left when Julian and the others stepped inside their house after exchanging a few polite words with Angeline’s husbands.
Ruby glanced at them and noticed how happy they looked. Her gaze landed on Milo, and she asked with a small smile, "Did you enjoy yourself?"
Milo’s face lit up at her words. For a moment, he couldn’t believe his ears. His wife was asking him. Not ignoring him like she used to, not brushing him off like he was invisible—she was genuinely asking if he had fun. It made his heart swell with happiness.
He felt a surge of happiness. This house wasn’t just a place to live—it had given him so much more. A room, friendly neighbors, and, most importantly, his wife’s attention. For the first time in years, he felt like he truly belonged. He couldn’t help but think that he’d love to spend the rest of his life here with everyone.
"I enjoyed so much, wife!" Milo said excitedly, his voice almost trembling with joy as he grabbed her hand and led her to sit on the sofa with him. "Do you know we watched Seven Deadly Sins of Humans?" He grinned as if sharing the best news ever.
Karl and Adrian exchanged glances, sharing a silent understanding. Adrian cleared his throat and said, "We’re tired. We’re heading to bed."
"Take good rest. Good night," Julian replied as he watched both of them walk into the same room. With a quiet sigh, Julian sank into the opposite sofa, ready to listen to Milo’s excited chatter.
"Seven Deadly Sins of Humans?" Ruby raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued.
"Yes, yes!" Milo nodded rapidly, his eyes shining. "Milan was so pitiful. His wife didn’t believe him, and he’s been crying so much. And Jin—he’s the greedy human—he’s bad, but oh, wife, he’s so pretty!" Milo’s enthusiasm was infectious, his innocence making the room feel lighter.
Ruby chuckled at the typical dramatic storyline he described, but she found herself enjoying the sparkle in his eyes. His pure excitement and childlike joy were contagious. Milo was simple, honest, and endearing in a way that made her feel a small tug of fondness.
He really is adorable, she thought, leaning back on the sofa. If he lived in my world, he’d definitely be the cute, handsome guy everyone would find charming.
Her thoughts drifted for a moment to her other husbands. She knew she needed to address their situation soon. If they didn’t like her, they were free to leave or divorce her.
But Milo? She wasn’t ready to let him go. And Julian? She still wasn’t sure where they stood. While she didn’t see Milo in a romantic light just yet, perhaps something deeper could grow over time. Relationships could develop, after all.
As for Julian... well, that was a question for another day.
After Milo finally stopped talking excitedly, Ruby’s gaze shifted to Julian, who was sitting quietly on the opposite sofa. His messy green eyes looked glossy under the dim light, almost as if they were wet.
As soon as Julian noticed her gaze on him, he quickly lowered his head, his fingers nervously fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. His pink lips parted slightly before he bit down on them.
"You two should sleep, it’s late," Ruby said softly, breaking the moment. Both Milo and Julian looked at her and nodded in agreement.
"Good night, wife," Milo said with a warm smile, his excitement from earlier still evident in his voice.
"Good night," Julian murmured quietly, his gaze briefly meeting hers before he looked away, his expression gentle.
The two of them turned and left the living room together, heading toward their room.
Ruby took a deep breath, switching off the living room lights, then moved to the kitchen to do the same. The house fell into a comforting silence as she walked toward her room. Closing the door behind her, she let out a soft yawn, her body already craving the comfort of sleep.
She felt empty as she started missing her phone and computer.
So, she sat on the bed with her notebook.
It was 9:02 PM—still relatively early by her standards, though in this world, it was late. Most people here went to bed between 7 and 9 PM, waking up at the crack of dawn to start their day.
Tomorrow was going to be busy because she was going to officially start working on her small clothing business!! She had planned the whole day.
To start a business in this world, required proper documentation, especially a PIC (Permanent Identity Card), which was mandatory for any official work. Unfortunately, Ruby no longer had hers. Her aunt had taken it from her, leaving her with no choice but to file an application to get a new one.
At least her husbands had their cards. She didn’t need to worry about them not being registered.
Ruby leaned back against the headrest, her notebook resting on her knees. Tomorrow’s going to be hectic.
Ruby glanced over the list of things she needed for her clothing business: fabrics, threads, stitching tools, and other essentials. She carefully jotted down the details, making sure to include the budget for each item. Her mind was buzzing with thoughts of tomorrow, but the list helped her focus. With everything planned out, she felt a bit more in control.
After finalizing her plans for tomorrow, Ruby placed the notebook down nearby and stretched. Her body felt the weight of the day, and she climbed into her bed, feeling the softness instantly comfort her. It was like sinking into a cloud, the plushness relaxing her muscles.
The temperature was high, but it didn’t bother her. She pulled the covers over herself, grateful for the warmth, and switched off the lights. The room was now dark, with only the faintest moonlight peeking through the curtains.
Ruby yawned, her body sinking deeper into the softness of the bed. She felt her muscles unwind, each breath becoming slower, more relaxed. The bed was so soft, it was as though it was holding her in a gentle embrace. The comfort was overwhelming, and she couldn’t help but smile as she closed her eyes.
With one last sigh of contentment, Ruby drifted off to sleep, her body finally at ease. Tomorrow would be busy, but for now, she allowed herself the comfort of sleep.
