Chapter 37: Chapter 37 Buying furniture (3)

To be honest, it was a beautiful experience for Ruby. Uncle Otis was driving the wagon steadily, and she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Just a moment ago, she had been filled with fear after all, she was almost traumatized by Karl’s driving skills.

Thankfully, Uncle Otis was a good driver. She felt the wind rushing past her face, bringing a sense of freedom that felt refreshing. It was a nice change compared to the chaos she had been used to after coming in this world.

As they drove, Ruby glanced at Milo and Julian beside her, both looking relaxed and content. Their smiles made her heart swell with happiness, and she couldn’t help but feel that this was a new beginning for all of them.

He dropped them at the market, smiling as he said, "Have a good day! I’ll be going home now and will come back in two hours. Is that alright?" Ruby nodded eagerly and replied, "Yes, that works for us!"

"How much do I need to pay you, Uncle?" Ruby asked as she gathered her thoughts.

"No need to worry about that now; just give me the payment later. Now go on, shoo! Do your shopping!" Uncle Otis insisted with a wave of his hand, making ruby chuckle at his enthusiasm.

Once he left, Ruby turned to Milo and Julian. "First, we need to buy furniture. Is that alright with you two?"

"Yeah, yeah! Let’s buy furniture!" Milo exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Ruby couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm.

Today was very crowded, so Ruby held both of their hands as they made their way through the busy market.

As she looked at the shops made of special glass, she felt a wave of amazement. Lost in her daydreams, she imagined having her own clothing shop in this lively market. She pictured herself being successful in the clothing business.

Then she could buy a computer with that money and create her own software. She has big dreams!

She also wanted to buy supplies and books about the history of this world today.

The shops around them were transparent, transforming into colorful ads that showcased simple images of their products. While the technology was impressive, Ruby couldn’t shake the thought that it was all based on chemistry and science. She really needed a computer to help her sort through everything!

Turning to Julian and Milo, she smiled at their excitement, but soon they arrived at a furniture shop. The store was also transparent, with two floors that allowed her to see the beautiful furniture inside.

"Let’s go inside!" Ruby exclaimed, eager to check it out. But both of her husbands shyly shook their heads, hesitant to step forward.

She chuckled helplessly at their shyness. "It’s fine," she said, trying to ease their nerves. "But don’t stand behind me—walk with me side by side!"

At her words, both of them started blushing again, their cheeks turning a light shade of pink. Ruby couldn’t help but find their reactions endearing, and she felt a warmth spreading through her heart. They really were sweet, even if they were a bit introverted.

"Hello, miss and mister! What can I show you today?" a ghost with a sweet face asked them as they entered the shop.

"We want to buy furniture for our house," Ruby replied. "Can you take us to the bed area? We need three beds, plus some other furniture for the new house."

Hearing her request, the ghost’s eyes sparkled with enthusiasm at the prospect of a big sale. "Sure, sure! Follow me!" he said, leading the way through the shop.

As they walked, he glanced over at the counter where his boss, a witch with a keen eye for business, was sitting. She looked up, met his gaze, and nodded with a smile. He knew she appreciated customers who were serious about buying.

Although the boss was known to be a bit stingy when it came to pricing and salary, if she hadn’t lacked communication skills, she might never have hired him. He had a knack for persuasion and could easily charm anyone into making a purchase.

The sweet ghost led Ruby, Milo, and Julian to the back of the store, where the beds were displayed.

Ruby noticed that the shop was transparent, and the interior was even more beautiful. The stairs had a neon white glow, illuminating the space, while each piece of furniture was placed with great care, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

The sweet-faced ghost led them upstairs to a corner of the shop. "Here is the bed area! We have a variety of beds you can check out. Each one is designed according to what our customers demand the most..."

As Ruby looked around, she couldn’t help but smile. Her lips twitched when she spotted a bed that looked like a grave—surely, if she slept on that bed, she’d wake up as a vampire.

Next to the grave-like bed was a cloud bed, fluffy and soft, with a mattress that seemed to float. It looked like something straight out of a dream, perfect for anyone who wanted to feel like they were sleeping on a cloud.

Then, there was a moonlit bed, adorned with silver accents that sparkled in the light. It had a headboard shaped like crescent moons and soft, shiny fabric that looked very comfortable and nice.

Ruby’s eyes widened at the sight of a gothic bed, featuring intricate carvings and a dark wood finish. It looked regal, like it belonged in a haunted castle.

In the corner stood a fairy-tale bed, with a canopy made of thin, light fabric that floated gently, almost like magic. The bed frame was painted in soft, pastel colors, giving it a fun, dreamy look.

Then there was an antique bed made from rich mahogany wood, with beautiful, detailed designs. It had an old-fashioned charm, perfect for someone who loved classic, timeless styled.

Ruby glanced at Milo and Julian. "Look at all these options! Which one do you think would fit best in our new home?"
