My five ghostly husbands
Chapter 194 A pure drama king

Chapter 194: Chapter 194 A pure drama king

"...And she’s always busy." Julian sighed, slumping slightly in frustration. "She doesn’t even look at me these days."

Kenji leaned back against his desk, crossing his arms as he listened carefully.

After a moment of silence, he let out a thoughtful hum. "Hmm... I see. Your wife is too busy to pay attention to you, huh?"

Julian nodded miserably. "Exactly."

Kenji tapped his chin. "Then, Julian, if your wife won’t come to you..."

His eyes gleamed mischievously.

"You need to provoke her."

Julian blinked. "Provoke her?"

Kenji smirked. "Yes. Make her chase after you. And before you ask—no, simply seducing her won’t be enough. Did it work when you tried?"

Julian fidgeted slightly. "...A little."

Kenji narrowed his eyes. "And then what?"

Julian sighed. "Then she went busy again..."

Kenji shook his head.

"Tsk. You need a stronger approach, little brother."

Julian swallowed. "Stronger... how?"

Kenji’s grin widened.

"Let me teach you a few things, Julian. Your wife won’t know what hit her."

Julian leaned forward, desperate for a solution. "Stronger? What do you mean?"

Kenji smirked, clearly enjoying the situation. He grabbed Julian by the shoulder.

"Listen carefully, little brother," he said, voice dripping with confidence. "If your wife is too busy for you, then you need to make her notice you. And I don’t mean just standing in front of her, hoping she’ll look up. I mean, really make her see you."

Julian frowned. "I... don’t get it."

Kenji sighed dramatically. "Let me put it simply. You need to provoke her. Tease her. Make her want you without even realizing it."

Julian stared at him, a little nervous. "That sounds... dangerous."

Kenji grinned. "It is. But if done right, it’s very rewarding."

Julian swallowed, suddenly unsure if he had made a mistake coming here.

"Okay... tell me what I should do."

Kenji clapped his hands together. "Good. Now, first thing’s first—how do you act around her these days?"

Julian sighed. "I try to be around her. I talk to her, but she’s always too busy. And when I try to get close, Brother Adi or Milo always ruins it."

Kenji rolled his eyes. "Then you’re doing it wrong. Chasing after her when she’s busy is pointless. Instead..." He leaned in, voice lower, "Make her chase after you."

Julian blinked. "How?"

Kenji smirked. "It’s simple. Stop acting like a sad, neglected husband. Instead, make her feel what it’s like to be ignored. You’ve been following her around? Stop doing that. Act like you have something else more important than her."

Julian’s eyes widened. "That’s... that’s cruel!"

Kenji chuckled. "No, no. It’s balance. Right now, she knows you’ll always be there, waiting for her. If you suddenly stop, she’ll notice."

Julian hesitated. "So... just avoid her?"

Kenji shrugged. "Not completely. Be around, but be distracted. Act busy. Be mysterious. Make her wonder what you’re up to."

Julian scratched the back of his neck. "And if that doesn’t work?"

Kenji’s smirk grew wider. "Then you step it up. Tease her."

Julian blinked. "Tease her? How?"

Kenji grinned, clearly excited now. "Simple things. Brush against her ’by accident.’ Whisper in her ear when you talk. Give her lingering touches and then walk away like it was nothing. If she asks you a question, smirk and don’t give her a straight answer. Basically—drive her crazy."

Julian’s ears turned red.

"T-That sounds..."

"Effective?" Kenji finished for him, grinning. "Oh, it is."

Julian hesitated, his mind racing. "But what if she just ignores me completely?"

Kenji leaned back and laughed. "Oh, she won’t. Trust me, Julian, no witch likes to feel left out–especially not someone like Miss Ruby. She’s used to being in control, isn’t she?"

Julian slowly nodded.

"Then flip it. Make her feel like you’re slipping away, and she’ll naturally try to bring you back."

Julian stared at Kenji, unsure whether to be impressed or horrified.

But deep down, he knew one thing—

He was going to try it.

Because if there was one thing he couldn’t stand anymore...

It was being ignored by his wife.

🪄🪄

It was late at night and Ruby was exhausted from all the work she had done throughout the day.

But it was worth it.

She had spent hours creating and preparing everything she needed—her body ached, but there was satisfaction in her exhaustion.

Deciding to take a break, she went outside to the dining area, expecting the usual lively dinner atmosphere.

But the moment she stepped in she paused.

Something felt... different.

Milo, Karl, and Adrian were already seated at the dining table, waiting quietly.

Julian was bringing the food, carefully setting each dish in front of them.

But when Ruby sat down...

He didn’t look at her.

Not even once.

Usually, he’d at least glance her way.

Maybe give her a small smile, or nudge her plate closer.

But tonight?

Nothing.

He simply placed the food in front of her and moved on.

The air felt heavy.

The usual warmth was missing.

Even Karl, who was rarely serious, was glancing between them curiously, as if he noticed something off.

Milo, being Milo, picked up on the change in mood immediately.

He looked at Ruby, then at Julian, then back at Ruby.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

Ruby lifted her spoon but hesitated.

The silence was unusual.

She wasn’t sure why...

But something told her this dinner was going to feel much longer than usual.

Then, Ruby’s red eyes shifted, her focus landing on Karl, who was happily eating, completely unbothered by the strange silence at the table.

He had no idea that he was about to become her next victim.

Ruby tilted her head slightly, observing him.

She needed him.

Not for anything dangerous—but for business.

She needed a model to wear her sample robes.

Adrian? Too silent and expressionless.

Milo? Too innocent he might get startled or even scared.

Julian? Too shy—he’d probably turn red just standing in front of people.

But Karl?

Karl was perfect.

Why?

Because he was dramatic.

A pure drama king.

He didn’t know how to do anything without adding unnecessary flair and theatrics.

If she put him in a robe, gave him a stage, and let him loose—he would sell the entire stock just by existing.

Ruby’s lips curled into a slow smirk.

Yes. Karl was the one.

Now, she just had to convince him.

And knowing Karl...

That was going to be both easy and incredibly annoying.

Julian subtly glanced at Ruby as he continued eating.

He was still ignoring her, acting like she wasn’t there, just like Brother Kenji told him to.

But then, he noticed something.

Ruby wasn’t even looking at him.

Instead her full attention was on Karl.

Julian’s grip on his spoon tightened.

Karl, completely oblivious, was eating like nothing in the world mattered.

No unnecessary drama, no loud remarks.. just calm, peaceful eating.

And Ruby was staring at him.

Julian’s heartbeat quickened.

Was this working... too well?

Brother Kenji had told him to act distant, to make Ruby notice him.

But instead she was noticing Karl.

Wait. Was she attracted to Brother Karl?!

Julian’s hands started shaking.

His mind raced, jumping to conclusions at an alarming speed.

Was Karl’s new behavior making him more attractive to Ruby?

Did she like calm, composed ghost now?!

Was she going to start chasing after brother Karl instead?!

Julian didn’t say anything, but in his mind he was spiraling.

Julian took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

Brother Karl is also her husband... yeah... yeah... He repeated in his head like a mantra. I shouldn’t be jealous... I shouldn’t be jealous...

But no matter how much he told himself that, his chest still felt tight.

Just as he was about to fall into another spiral of overthinking—

A warm touch snapped him out of it.

Ruby’s hand gently covered his.

The warmth of her palm instantly soothed the tension in his fingers, grounding him.

Julian’s eyes snapped up to meet hers.

Her red eyes were calm, but filled with curiosity.

"Jules, you’re not eating anything?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

His breath hitched.

Jules.

She had called him by his nickname.

Suddenly, all the ridiculous thoughts, jealousy, and worries vanished in an instant.

His heartbeat slowed down, his shoulders relaxed, and the insecurity that had been clawing at his mind melted away.

He cleared his throat, gripping his spoon tightly.

"I’m eating," he muttered, quickly taking a bite to prove it.

Ruby watched him for a second longer, then smirked slightly and pulled her hand away.

Julian immediately regretted not holding onto it longer.

Adrian’s sharp eyes narrowed slightly as he quietly observed the exchange between Julian and Ruby.

He had been watching the entire dinner unfold, silently taking in every detail.

From the moment Julian ignored Ruby, to the way Ruby became distracted by Karl, to the moment Julian’s jealousy almost consumed him.

And finally—to the way Ruby’s single touch had completely calmed Julian down.

Interesting.

They were getting closer.

Much closer than before.

It was subtle, but Adrian could see it clearly.

The way Julian reacted to Ruby. The way Ruby, despite her distractions, still noticed him in the end.

They were truly moving forward as husband and wife.

Adrian let out a slow breath, his dark eyes thoughtful.

He had always expected Julian to stay reserved, hesitant, too flustered to act on his feelings.

But now?

Julian was changing.

And Ruby was starting to truly acknowledge him as her husband.
