My five ghostly husbands -
Chapter 183 The warehouse was gone?
Chapter 183: Chapter 183 The warehouse was gone?
She barely had time to process the pitiful crying voice before a figure came running straight toward her—
Pillu.
Tears streamed down his cheeks, his fists clenched as he sobbed uncontrollably.
"Wait, you— Pillu, what happened to you??" Ruby asked, shocked to see the usually elegant and composed Pillu looking like an absolute mess.
Pillu grabbed both her hands tightly, his fingers trembling. His tear-filled eyes looked up at her, his lip quivering as he struggled to get the words out.
"Miiiiiissssss Ruby..." he hiccuped, sniffling hard.
Ruby braced herself.
Then—
"The owner sold the warehouse to someone else! She no longer wants to sell it to youuuuuu!"
His voice cracked at the end, as if the news physically pained him.
"What?!" Ruby exclaimed, her body stiffening in shock.
The warehouse was gone?
Just like that?
"Yes..." Pillu sniffled, his voice still trembling. "My friend’s wife said she was in a hurry and had no choice but to sell... I even tried to make her understand, but anyway... it’s already sold." His shoulders slumped. "I’m so sorry..." he muttered, wiping his face.
Ruby’s expression went blank.
Her first instinct was to be furious, but she knew Pillu wasn’t at fault.
She exhaled and gently patted his hands, rubbing them in a calming motion.
"It’s alright... it’s not your fault." Her voice was steady, though a sharp glint flashed in her crimson eyes. "I’ll find another place. And you’re going to help me, alright?"
Pillu sniffled again, nodding quickly. "Yes...!"
Before he could say anything else, Adrian moved.
In one swift motion, Adrian grabbed Pillu’s hands, pulling them away from Ruby’s.
His expression remained unreadable.
His dark eyes locked onto Pillu’s, his grip just a little too firm.
"You don’t have to worry, alright, Pillu?" Adrian said, his voice calm but final.
Pillu blinked, his mouth opening slightly.
Then, slowly, he nodded. "Uh... yeah... okay."
He didn’t miss the way Adrian’s grip had lingered for just a second longer than necessary.
"Alright, I’m leaving, Miss Ruby!" Pillu said, forcing a sad smile as he pulled his hands away from Adrian’s grip.
"I’ll look around for another place for you," he added sincerely.
Ruby’s crimson eyes softened.
"Thank you. You’re kind," she said with a pretty smile.
For a brief second, Pillu froze.
Then his ears turned a little pink.
He quickly waved. "Bye!"
As he walked away, Adrian’s jaw clenched. His dark eyes stayed locked on Pillu’s retreating figure, his lips pressed into a thin line.
Ruby, completely unfazed, turned toward the house.
Adrian tore his gaze away from Pillu and studied her profile.
"What are you going to do now?" he asked, voice even.
Ruby’s red eyes flickered toward him.
Then, she simply smiled.
Not worried. Not anxious. Just calm.
"Nothing," she said, before walking inside the house without a hint of concern.
Adrian watched her until she disappeared And for some reason that smile unsettled him.

Ruby stepped inside the house and immediately called for Julian.
Julian, who had been sitting on the couch, turned his green eyes toward her.
"Yes, wife...? You have something to say?" he asked, watching her curiously.
Ruby didn’t waste time.
"You said it was Levi who took you to the scene, right?" Her red eyes gleamed darkly, her voice slow and deliberate. "He’s the one who made you believe I was cheating?"
Julian straightened slightly, sensing the shift in her tone.
"Yes... but why are you asking, wife?" he said cautiously.
Just as she was about to respond—
"WAIT—WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
Karl’s baby blue eyes were wide in shock as he walked in, his jaw practically hitting the floor.
His gaze bounced between Julian and Ruby, completely stunned.
Julian sighed and leaned back.
"It’s a long story, Karl," he muttered.
"Then start talking!" Karl snapped.
And so, with a deep breath, Julian told him everything.
By the time he was done–
Karl’s expression had completely changed.
His usual cocky arrogance was gone.
Instead, his hands clenched into fists.
His entire body radiated anger.
"That bastard..." Karl gritted his teeth.
And Ruby, standing beside them, just smiled.
A smile that was anything but sweet.
"Get ready. We’re going somewhere." Ruby’s voice was calm but firm as she turned away from them. "And tell everything to Adrian and Milo too."
Without waiting for their response, she walked toward her room and shut the door behind her.
Julian and Karl exchanged glances.
What was she thinking?
Her tone, her expression, it was different. There was something dangerous about the way she had spoken.
Still, they did as she said.
Julian and Karl sat Adrian and Milo down and told them everything.
Milo’s eyes widened in shock, his usual soft expression turning troubled.
Adrian, on the other hand, remained silent.
His dark eyes flickered, processing the information.
After a moment, he simply said. "I have to go. I need to receive my salary." And just like that, he left.
Karl frowned as he watched Adrian walk out.
Ruby stepped out of the house, her bag slung over her shoulder and a few bills tucked inside. She gave her husbands a quick glance before saying, "Let’s go."
Without hesitation, they followed her, watching as she locked the door behind them.
As they walked, Milo, who had been fidgeting with curiosity, finally spoke up.
"Where are we going, wife?" He couldn’t help but ask, his voice soft but eager.
Ruby didn’t turn around.
"Just follow me." Her tone was even, expression unreadable.
With no other choice, they continued trailing behind her, wondering where she was leading them.
Then, after a while, she glanced at Julian.
"You’re okay with walking, right?" she asked, noticing the slight fatigue in his movements.
Julian, despite looking a little tired, quickly straightened up.
"I-I’m okay," he said quickly.
Ruby clicked her tongue, clearly unimpressed.
Without a word, she handed her bag to Milo and turned toward Julian.
"I can carry you."
Before he could even process what she meant—
Ruby lifted him into her arms.
Bridal style.
Julian’s entire world froze.
His green eyes widened in sheer horror as heat flooded his face.
"YOU—YOU—PLEASE PUT ME DOWN!" he stammered, struggling as he hid his face against her chest.
But the moment he felt the softness, his entire body stiffened.
Oh no.
OH NO.
His face burned hotter, and now he had no idea where to hide himself.
His hands flew up, covering his face.
Meanwhile Karl was completely stunned.
His baby blue eyes blinked slowly, processing what just happened.
Milo, on the other hand, watched silently, his eyes filled with longing.
He wanted to be carried like that too...
But Julian was injured.
So, for now, he just watched.
As Ruby walked confidently down the road, Julian still in her arms, the people around them stared.
Eyes widened. Mouths fell open.
And soon enough the whispers began.
"Is that Ruby? The same Ruby who used to drink all day? How did she change so much?"
"I heard she bought a house! And paid off her debts too!"
"No way! Where did she even get the money? Do you think she sold something precious?"
"Or maybe she actually started working? I mean, look at her. She doesn’t seem drunk or messy anymore."
"Hmph! Even if she changed, who knows if it will last? People like her always go back to their old ways."
"Why did she become so shameless, carrying her husband in broad daylight?"
"Shameless couple."
"Have they no dignity?"
A few bored onlookers whispered among themselves, their judgmental stares following Ruby and Julian.
Julian, his face already burning, felt his dignity crumble with every passing comment.
Oh god. This was humiliating.
He covered his red face even more, wishing he could disappear.
Ruby, on the other hand, didn’t spare them a single glance.
She walked straight ahead, completely unaffected.
As if she was deaf to the gossip.
Karl, however, was not deaf.
His baby blue eyes darted around, taking in all the nosy busybodies whispering nonsense.
And he... was pissed.
So, instead of ignoring them—
He fought back.
He stuck out his tongue at random strangers.
He made exaggerated eye gestures.
He pulled ridiculous faces, wiggling his brows, crossing his eyes, and even puffing his cheeks like a fool.
The people watching?
Speechless.
Some turned away, pretending they didn’t see this insane ghost.
Others looked offended, their faces twisting in disbelief.
Karl smirked, satisfied.
"Hmph! That’s what I thought." He muttered proudly as he continued walking behind Ruby.
Milo, walking beside him, blinked.
"Brother Karl... are you a child?"
"No. I’m a genius." Karl grinned, his face completely unapologetic.
Julian, on the other hand, wanted to die.
His green eyes peeked from between his fingers, only to see more people pointing and whispering.
He groaned. "Wife, just put me down already..."
Ruby, completely unfazed, kept walking.
Her crimson eyes were focused ahead, her mind somewhere else.
Something about this path felt too familiar And finally after walking through the busy streets...
She stopped.
Right in front of the Civil Protection Office.
