Chapter 109 Princess belle
Chapter 109: Chapter 109 Princess belle
She was deep in thought, her red eyes narrowed and her long white hair fell behind her back and She was sitting on her provided seat with mouse in her hand she was looking at computer.
Her skin is fair and She bite her Pink lips as she looked deep in thought not noticing two pairs of eye looking at her.
When Ruby worked, she became intensely focused, her entire world narrowing down to the task at hand. Her red eyes were sharp, her expression calm and concentrated. She was completely absorbed, her hand moving swiftly on the mouse as she reviewed the data transfer progress.
Suddenly, her eyes widened in shock as she felt something soft and heavy land on her lap.
"Meow."
She froze, her concentration shattered, and looked down slowly.
"Meow," came the sound again, this time louder and filled with irritation.
On her lap sat a fat, familiar black cat, glaring up at her with mismatched blue and green eyes. The cat’s fluffy black fur was slightly ruffled, and it was wearing a blue princess dress, complete with little frills.
"Princess Belle?" Ruby muttered.
The cat meowed again, her mismatched eyes narrowing as if to say, Yes, it’s me. What took you so long to notice?
Ruby blinked in confusion as she looked down at the cat in her lap. Wasn’t this the same cat she had encountered in the market when she was searching for Milo? Before she could process it, a loud gasp broke her thoughts.
"Oh my God!!!"
Ruby turned her head quickly, and her red eyes fell on the two government witches standing near the door, their faces pale with shock. But what really caught her attention was the ghost standing beside them.
He looked entirely different from anyone Ruby had seen before. He was a bit on the heavier side, wearing a pristine white robe that gave him a calming aura. His long hair was tied loosely, and a delicate light purple flower was tucked behind one ear, making him look oddly serene.
"Princess Belle!" the ghost exclaimed, his voice filled with surprise as he stared at the cat in Ruby’s lap. His wide eyes darted between the cat and Ruby, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
The ghost’s name was Bodhi. He wasn’t an ordinary figure in the area; he was well-known for his devotion to caring for animals, especially cats and dogs. Bodhi had dedicated his life to what he believed were divine beings sent by the Ghost God. For him, taking care of these animals wasn’t just a responsibility; it was a blessing.
He would wake early to bathe and feed the cats and dogs, ensuring their comfort and health. Small houses had been built across the villages for the animals to rest, and Bodhi made it his mission to keep them clean and safe. There were several branches and spots under his care, all created to serve the divine animals he cherished.
Among all the animals, Princess Belle was special. She had a royal grace and only let a few people near her.
For Bodhi, seeing Princess Belle sitting quietly on Ruby’s lap was unbelievable.
it felt almost like a miracle.
"Meow," Princess Belle purred softly, and Ruby instinctively reached out, gently rubbing her fluffy head. The cat’s purring grew louder, clearly enjoying the attention as she nestled closer to Ruby.
"Sorry, Miss," the man said hurriedly, his eyes wide with shock. He quickly stepped forward and picked Princess Belle up from Ruby’s lap. But as soon as he did, the cat glared at him angrily.
"Meow! Meow!" Princess Belle cried, wriggling in his arms as if protesting being taken away.
Ruby smiled gently. "Oh, it’s fine! Let her play with me for a little while," she said casually, still rubbing the cat’s head as she reached out. The witches and the ghost exchanged shocked glances, their expressions unreadable.
For them, what they were witnessing was extraordinary. It was believed that animals like Princess Belle only approached those who were truly blessed, chosen by the divine to carry out something important.
Ruby, oblivious to their thoughts, continued to stroke the cat’s soft fur. "Okay, Princess Belle, you’ve had enough fun now. You need to go back... um..." Ruby trailed off, her red eyes lifting to meet the man’s. "What’s your name sir?"
The ghost blinked at her. "Bodhi," he finally said, his voice soft but filled with awe as he looked at Ruby.
Ruby nodded and gave Princess Belle one last affectionate pat. "Alright, Sir Bodhi, here you go," she said, motioning for him to take the cat properly.
Princess Belle, now oddly obedient, let Bodhi carry her without much fuss. She turned her mismatched blue and green eyes toward Ruby one last time, giving a small, almost reluctant "meow" before settling into Bodhi’s arms.
Bodhi held the cat tightly, his gaze lingering on Ruby with a meaningful expression. Without saying more, he turned and walked away with the witches following behind, still whispering among themselves about what they had just witnessed.
After Princess Belle left with Bodhi, Ruby noticed something peculiar. One by one, government witches began appearing at her side, each sneaking a glance at her through the open doorway or from a window. Every single one of them had wide eyes, their expressions a mix of awe and curiosity.
Ruby sighed, understanding the reason for their behavior. It’s not a big deal, she thought to herself. She wasn’t a fan of cats, but back in her past life, she had regularly fed stray dogs and cats whenever she found them.
However, in this world, being approached by cats was considered a blessing, so she understood. Still, a cat was a cat, and Princess Belle was no different—she simply enjoyed the attention and the rubs, Ruby thought with a chuckle.
She glanced back at the computer, seeing the data transfer was nearly complete. She smiled faintly, relieved the work would soon be over. By evening, two familiar faces appeared.
Both of them looked visibly tired, their robes slightly wrinkled, as if they had been working non-stop.
"Miss Ruby," the taller witch said with a small smile, holding out a small red book. "Your bank account is created."
Ruby’s eyes lit up as she accepted the book, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Thank you so much," she said sincerely, flipping through the pages briefly to check the details.
The shorter witch waved her hand dismissively, a tired but proud smile on her face. "No need to thank us, Miss Ruby. You’ve helped us so much already. Without you, things would’ve been much worse. Our ma’am is busy trying to find out who tried to erase the data from the computer, but thanks to you, we don’t have to worry about data anymore."
Ruby nodded, her smile growing. "I’m glad I could help. Let me know if there’s anything else you need," she said.
The two witches exchanged glances, their tired faces brightening slightly. "You’ve already done more than enough," the taller one said before stifling a yawn.
After the witches dropped Ruby at her house, her face turned dark as she thought about Karl and Adrian stealing her money. The same question kept running through her mind. Why would they steal from me? If they needed something, they could have asked. It’s not like I’d ever let them go without food.
She sighed deeply, her footsteps quickening as the evening grew red and dark. Adrian was probably home now, back from his job, and she was ready to face them. When she reached the house, she stopped and rang the doorbell.
Inside, the sound of the Victorian car had already caught everyone’s attention. Adrian, Karl, Julian and Milo were in the living room, each reacting differently.
Karl was pacing nervously, his blue eyes glancing at the door every few seconds. His hands clutched the edge of his robe tightly. Milo was sitting on the sofa, looking curious but slightly worried. He tilted his head, trying to figure out what was going on. Adrian, however, stood still, his face blank but his clenched jaw showing how tense he was.
And Julian leaned against the wall, looking tense. Adrian wasn’t talking to him, and it was making him feel stressed.
When the doorbell rang, all four of them froze.
"Wife’s back," Milo said quietly, standing up quickly.
Adrian looked at Karl, who had turned pale. Neither of them said anything as Milo rushed to open the door.
When the door opened, Ruby stood there. Her red eyes were sharp, and her calm face gave nothing away. Her white hair fell over her shoulders, glowing softly in the evening light. She didn’t come in right away, instead glancing at Milo, then looking past him at the others.
"Wife, you’re back!" Milo said with a nervous smile, trying to ease the tension.
Ruby stepped inside slowly, her movements steady and calm. She looked around the room, her eyes stopping briefly on each of them. The room, already heavy with silence, felt even more uncomfortable now.
Adrian’s fists were clenched at his sides, and he didn’t look at her. Karl shifted where he stood, staring at the ground like he wanted to disappear.
Ruby let out a breath and placed her things on the table. Her voice was calm but firm. "We need to talk," she said, her eyes fixed on Adrian and Karl.
