My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 440
Anton spent the night worrying, which he kept telling himself was a colossal waste of time, but he could not help himself. Not only that, but he was switching between worrying and grieving since if he and his family weren’t successful in escaping the ship, they would either be enslaved or destroyed by the undead. If the Amelia was able to escape from the undead, the Invincible Wizard Katrina was not going to let him go.
He didn’t know what he should pray for. Should he pray for the ships from the undead to catch up to the Amelia, which would give them a higher chance of escaping but would result in all of his friends that would remain on the ship being captured by the undead? Or should he pray for the Amelia to escape since that would result in his friends continuing to live?
Anton knew that it was a moot point. If his prayers could be answered, he would choose to pray for their ship to escape since there was still a chance that they could escape from Katrina but because of the number of ships from the Undead Coalition chasing them was unbelievably plentiful, he knew that there were wizards there that as powerful as Katrina and would have spells just like what Katrina and the other Supreme Wizards had been casting that allowed their ship to travel with extraordinary speed.
He didn’t know what to do during the next few hours. Anton couldn’t waste any more materials creating enchanted items that they might not need, and he couldn’t concentrate enough to create new things. He also couldn’t focus enough to watch anything, so the only thing he could do was sleep, and with the help of the Pearl of the Ocean, he could actually do so.
Anton woke up after a few hours, and because of the pearl that his ocean friends gave him, he felt well-rested even though when he checked his watch, he had only slept for around three hours. After a couple of hours, his father and Anna would arrive, and he felt anxious enough that he couldn’t wait to see them.
He couldn’t remember when he started treating Anders and Anna as family, but that was what they were. His family. And he would do everything he could to make them safe.
At around seven in the morning, Anton was surprised to see the Supreme Wizard Numinor entering his room, and the mage was followed by Anders and Anna.
“Good morning, Archmage Sunder. I’m currently assigned as the mage that will cast the satiation spell on everyone and fill that item you made with mana. Do you need me to cast the satiation spell on you?” Numinor asked.
“No. Thank you. My father and sister brought me breakfast.”
The Supreme Wizard looked like he wanted to tell Anton something, but after a minute, the mage just left.
“What was that all about?” Anna asked while their father retrieved the breakfast they had prepared for him, and Anton just shrugged.
The three of them started eating since their father and Anna hadn’t eaten yet and wanted to join him for breakfast. While they were eating, Anders told him that everyone remained in their suite, but everyone was doing the same thing.
To alleviate their worries, they talked about different things. Anna told him that the mages were still practicing their magic, but without him, their progress slowed down unbelievably, and they learned how it would be without him.
Anton’s father told him that the cinema was closed and every other business on the ship for that matter. Everyone only left their rooms to go to the assigned locations where they could get food. For their family, it was in the dining hall. His father said that the worrying part was, there was no rationing of the food, but instead, the ship was being very generous. They theorize that it was because the ship was not going to survive anyway, so why save food? But Walter told everyone that there was no such reason, that the food was the same, and that everyone was just being paranoid.
Anton laughed at that, but then suddenly he felt dizzy. It was so severe that he almost lost consciousness. He tried his best to remain awake then he saw his father and his sister falling. He knew then that what he felt was some sort of mental attack.
The attack came again, and it was so powerful that Anton almost lost consciousness again. He activated all of his defenses and shared those defensive spells that he could share with his father and Anna.
The mental attack came again, but because of his defenses, he remained awake. The attack was so powerful that even with all his defensive spells, Anton could barely hold on. His Prayer Aura and his full rejuvenation potions kept him awake. He immediately removed a couple of Supreme Wizards from his party system and added his father and Anna, but they remained unconscious.
The mental attack came again, and this time, it was so powerful that he lost his mind for a few seconds. When his consciousness returned, he saw their room getting destroyed. He immediately cast the Amazon skill Valkyrie, who had the same defenses as him, and commanded it to hug Anna to protect his sister. He hugged his father to protect Anders because his physical defenses were through the roof because of all the passive skills from the Amazon, Barbarian, and Paladin characters.
Anton then enveloped the three of them in his Telekinesis spell. He kept losing consciousness for a few seconds because of the mental attack that he was sure was from an Invincible Wizard or a group of them. Because of his auras and his potions, he kept waking up.
The room was then fully destroyed, and because they were floating because of his Telekinesis spell, Anton saw that the Amelia was cut in multiple pieces and some of the pieces were totally destroyed.
He saw that Katrina and the Supreme Wizards were fighting back but looking at the number of ships attacking them and the group of liches attacking them, Anton felt hopeless.
Anton flew very near the ocean while hugging his father and the Valkyrie hugging his sister so they could hide among the debris, but then a mental attack arrived, and this time, Anton truly lost consciousness.
Before he did, he cast his maximum level Cloak of Shadow and started flying while almost touching the water to the west. He was half conscious so that was the only thing he could do.
If Anton was fully awake, he would have done everything he could to search for the rest of his family, but because of the mental attack, he kept losing his consciousness, and the best thing that he could do was to remain half-conscious.
He felt several spells attacking the surroundings, and Anton knew that the liches kept on bombarding the ship.
With tears in his eyes, he did his best to fly to the west while hugging his father and the Valkyrie, hugging his sister, and knowing that he was abandoning the rest of his family. He felt the blast of the powerful spells almost hitting him and was thankful that the undead cast some sort of spell that turned the surrounding area very dark since the Cloak of Shadows allowed them to hide.
He didn’t know if anyone survived, but with the rate of the spells bombarding the remains of the ship, he doubted that anyone who had no defenses against magic would be able to.
