From the bottom of her heart, she hoped Chen Xu had simply lost his mind, spouting nonsense in front of her. According to what she had learned before, this man was only moderately wealthy, owning a chain of noodle shops at most–a net worth of ten million. How could he possibly produce 500 million?

She had spent many years in this circle and met numerous artists who, once famous, no longer knew their own limits. Their actions, from body language to speech tone, aimed to convey one thing: their greatness.

Chen Xu, however, wasn’t like that. When he spoke, his steady demeanor and revealed aura were something she had only felt from significant figures.

That was exactly the troubling part, if Chen Xu indeed had the capability to pay the breach of contract fee and buy out the contract, it would be a fatal blow to her career. “Is that a new guitar?” Shao Qing asked casually after taking a seat across from her.

Bai Jinxuan replied, “Chen Xu gave it to me.”

Shao Qing felt a stir in her heart and scrutinized it closely, spotting a signature on the body of the guitar–a piece crafted by a master guitar maker worth at least one hundred thousand.

Her thoughts shifted quickly as she asked, “Being busy recording shows recently must be tiring, right?”

Bai Jinxuan smiled and said, “It’s okay. It’s all for promoting the album. I can handle it.”

“By the way, I ran into Chen Xu at the restaurant just now,” Shao Qing mentioned casually.

Bai Jinxuan, surprised and delighted, asked, “He’s also at this hotel?”

“Yes, and he brought quite a few people.” Shao Qing didn’t mention that Chen Xu was there with his girlfriend.

“He’s here for the electronic expo,” a fact Bai Jinxuan knew already but hadn’t expected such a coincidence–that they were staying in the same hotel.

Shao Qing remarked, “It’s been a few months since I saw him, he’s changed a lot; I almost didn’t recognize him. Looks like he’s been quite successful.”

“Indeed, he previously set up a lab and came up with an invention, the one solving lithium dendrites that’s been all over the news recently. He’s made quite a bit of money from that patent.”

Shao Qing noted this information to inquire further when she returned. Then, probing, she said, “After discussing it, the company thinks the previous management contract wasn’t quite fitting. We’re planning to sign a new one with you, raising the profit-sharing ratio…”

“Aunt Shao, let’s talk about the contract later. I’ve got too much on my plate right now and can’t focus on that.”

Hearing this, Shao Qing realized Jinxuan had already been in touch with Chen Xu.
