Chapter 251 - Chapter 251 251 at a loss for words
Chapter 251: 251 at a loss for words Chapter 251: 251 at a loss for words Yang Jinxia was the most experienced among the three women. Suddenly awakening from her sleep and finding herself here didn’t alarm her. She first looked at Chen Xu, who was drenched in sweat and appeared very anxious, and then she began to survey the surrounding environment with some suspicion.
It was a strange, square space that resembled a room, about twenty square meters in size. The walls emitted a white light, but the floor was pitch black.
Beyond that, there was nothing else.
Her gaze swept around, and after confirming there was no immediate danger, she turned to look at the other two women. A thought struck her, and she roughly guessed what their situation might be, her lips curling into a cold smile.
Seeing Luo Xiyun in her beige pajamas didn’t surprise her, as she had speculated this might be the case before.
She hadn’t had much contact with Luo Xiyun, but she understood quite well the temperament of this nominal niece. After the “chance encounter” at the hospital and learning of her relationship with Chen Xu, she didn’t break up with him directly but instead reconciled as if nothing happened.
From this, it was clear that Luo Xiyun’s feelings for Chen Xu were deep, and she could even overcome her own moral scruples.
At that time, she suspected that Luo Xiyun must have shared a similar dream with Chen Xu, which was why she developed such deep feelings.
Next, her gaze shifted to the other woman. As expected, she was very pretty. Then, feeling a sense of familiarity, she quickly remembered that this was a young actress.
Her cold smile deepened as she stood there, saying nothing, ready to watch the drama unfold.
…
Luo Xiyun had just fallen asleep and was in a daze when she found herself in a strange place, which startled her. Her eyes fell on Chen Xu, and she asked subconsciously, “Chen Xu, where are we?”
As soon as she spoke, she realized she wasn’t the only one talking, and turned her head in surprise to see, besides herself, there were two other women. What’s more, she knew both of them–one was Yang Jinxia, and the other was the star Bai Jinxuan they had just been discussing.
At that moment, Bai Jinxuan also happened to look her way, her expression similarly taken aback, then shifting to something like evasiveness.
There stood Yang Jinxia with a cold laugh and Bai Jinxuan with a guilt-stricken face.
In an instant, Luo Xiyun vaguely understood something. Her breathing became somewhat rapid as she looked again at Chen Xu and asked, “What exactly is going on? What is this place? Why are they here?”
After asking this question, the three women simultaneously turned their gazes to Chen Xu, waiting for his explanation.
At this moment, faced with the stares of three women, Chen Xu’s head felt like it was about to explode.
Everything happened too quickly; he had no mental preparation, and they appeared before him without giving him time to react.
Yang Jinxia and Luo Xiyun both knew of each other’s existence, which he had thought he had managed well, confident that nothing would go wrong.
But now, the artificial intelligence had thrown him a curveball, completely shattering his well-laid plans.
Now, how could Luo Xiyun not guess that the dream she experienced was related to him?
There was no way he could bypass her in the future and take only Yang Jinxia into the dream; it was absolutely impossible. Moreover, she certainly wouldn’t accept him maintaining that kind of relationship with Yang Jinxia.
Not to mention, there was also Bai Jinxuan…
Could Yang Jinxia tolerate Luo Xiyun, but could she accept an additional Bai Jinxuan?
Bai Jinxuan knew she had a girlfriend, but could she accept that he also had another woman?
…
It’s over!
Countless thoughts flashed through Chen Xu’s mind. But, when the situation couldn’t possibly get worse, he instead calmed down and said in an even tone, “You need to sign an agreement, so I had you brought here.”
His composure slightly stunned the three women before him. His dismissive tone, as if he were discussing something utterly ordinary, even created an illusion that made them wonder if they were overreacting.
Could it be that things weren’t as she had thought?
In a moment of distraction, an agreement appeared before them, and they subconsciously started to read it.
Whether it was Luo Xiyun, Yang Jinxia, or Bai Jinxuan, none were strangers to dealing with contracts. Upon reading it, they all furrowed their brows.
The agreement was short, with not much content, quickly read in just a glance.
All three of them finished reading almost simultaneously. Yang Jinxia seemed to think of something, her tightly knitted brows suddenly relaxed.
Beside her, Bai Jinxuan just looked at Chen Xu with puzzlement.
“What is this?” only Luo Xiyun asked, before remembering something more important, “Also, what’s the matter with those two?”
Chen Xu remained composed as he said, “Remember that magical dreamscape we experienced? Once we sign this agreement, we can enter such a dreamscape again.”
With the situation having reached this point, and the system directly pulling the three of them in for a confrontation, hiding anything was meaningless; he decided to just lay it all out.
“Us?”
Luo Xiyun couldn’t hear anything else. Looking at him, her expression became somewhat distant as she repeated the word, her breathing getting rapid, “When you refer to ‘us,’ does that include those two?”
Chen Xu remained silent. What could he say? Flatly deny it? In front of Yang Jinxia and Bai Jinxuan, to deny his relationship with them would be an immense hurt.
Make excuses? Plead for her forgiveness?
Such things were redundant, no matter how many explanations were given.
So, he said nothing, just looking at her like that.
Luo Xiyun looked back at him, her face growing paler by the second. His silence shattered the last thread of hope in her heart, her body swayed, and she became unsteady on her feet.
She said nothing, looked down, and her figure vanished from the spot.
Chen Xu felt a heavy blow in his heart. She didn’t cry, nor did she curse loudly; instead, she disappeared without a word. So decisive, leaving no room for return.
“Hmph.”
On the other side, Yang Jinxia let out a cold snort, soft enough for him to hear, and then she, too, disappeared.
In the end, only Bai Jinxuan remained. She stepped forward, her voice laced with concern, “Chen Xu, are you alright?”
A warmth spread in Chen Xu’s heart; at least in the end, she remained steadfast by his side.
He shook his head, his voice somewhat hoarse, “You go back first. I want to be alone for a while.”
“Don’t be too sad. No matter what happens, I will always be with you,” she said and then left as well.
Chen Xu watched the direction in which she disappeared, his heart stirred. The resoluteness of Luo Xiyun contrasted sharply with the tolerance of Bai Jinxuan.
At that moment, his heart wavered. Maybe, from the start he was wrong, he should have made a choice sooner…
Immediately after, the image of her jumping off a cliff with his body in her arms resurfaced in his mind, casting aside all other thoughts. No matter what, he would not give up so easily; he had to at least try to make amends.
He took a deep breath, rallied his spirit, and chose to exit.
Then, darkness enveloped him, and when he opened his eyes again, he saw Luo Xiyun packing up her things. He sat up, looked at her silhouette from behind, and for a moment, did not know how to break the silence.
