Chapter 225 - Chapter 225 225 coordinates well

Chapter 225: 225 coordinates well Chapter 225: 225 coordinates well “Increase gravity to the limit.”

Chen Xu was frightened by the alien’s gaze, a purely instinctual reaction, but his mind remained calm. Earlier in the transfer pod, he had thought about how to use the home field advantage.

The gravity equipment onboard the spaceship was one such advantage.

Taichu’s voice rang out, “The power of the surrounding gravity equipment has been maximized; gravity is expected to reach 2.5 g.”

Immediately, Chen Xu felt a heaviness on his body, but he quickly recovered. His armor had an automatic adjustment device that could adapt to various gravity environments.

On the screen, the several-meter-tall alien was clearly greatly affected; its several limbs bent down several times and it almost couldn’t stand steady.

He had sensed earlier that these aliens seemed light but actually had a high density, comparable to metal. This was evident from how effortlessly they tore through the thick alloy walls.

The heavier the body weight, the more severe the impact of gravity.

These thoughts flashed through Chen Xu’s mind, but his actions were not slow. He set the energy gun in his hand to the second setting, extended its muzzle through the hole he had just punctured, and fired several consecutive shots to kill the newly hatched aliens. His next target was the black eggs.

It took just a few seconds to clear these hazards. The mature alien had adjusted by then; it seemed to realize that all of its kind had been killed, and it let out a sharp shriek and lunged towards him, its speed seemingly not much slower than the smaller aliens.

Chen Xu was prepared; he bent his knees and leapt backward. But his speed was pitifully slow compared to the alien’s.

“Turn off the gravity.” While mid-air, he shouted; then he felt a lightness come over him, and under the effect of inertia, he drifted backward.

On the other hand, the alien hadn’t anticipated the sudden loss of gravity. Originally expected to land on the ground, it now lost control and crashed headfirst into the wall, clawing at the wall a few times and sparking flames.

During this brief delay, Chen Xu had already rushed into the transport pod and said, “Drive.”

The pod door closed swiftly, and the transport pod started instantaneously, picking up speed rapidly. He controlled his armor to grip the chair tightly and stood there firmly.

He breathed a sigh of relief, thinking back on the fight that just happened. The scene was not particularly thrilling, but its danger level was second only to the second nightmare and the battle with the Acid Ant Beast; a slightly slower reaction could have meant certain death.

In front of these aliens, even thick alloy walls, several decimeters thick, felt as if they were made of paper, not to mention his small frame; a single touch would surely be fatal.

Suddenly, Taichu’s voice rang in his ear, “Chen Xu, it has been following you all along.”

Then, a projection appeared inside his helmet, showing the alien running relentlessly, and judging by the surroundings, it seemed to be inside the transport pod’s corridor.

His gaze flashed, pondering his options.

He wasn’t worried about it catching up; with the transport pod’s maximum speed of several hundred kilometers per hour, if the alien could keep up, then his death would have been a fair outcome.

Now, he faced two choices. One was to play hide and seek with the creature. With the spaceship being so large, surviving another couple of months would be easy.

The other choice was to take advantage of the fact that it was doggedly pursuing him, and find a way to kill it.

The first option seemed the wisest. It would involve no risk and a higher chance of survival. But there was a hidden danger. Who knew what mayhem this alien could cause?

He didn’t consider for long before making a decision. “Slow down, drag it along. Then, take me to the edge of the spaceship.”

Taichu responded, “Okay.”

Soon, he felt the speed of the transport pod slow down; through the projection on his visor, he saw that the alien was still in relentless pursuit.

“Come on, let’s see who survives to the end.”

By then, the speed of the transport pod had stabilized, and he freed his hands to remove the energy magazine from his gun and replace it with a new one. Throughout the process, his mind was utterly calm.

In the previous nightmare, he had gone through numerous battles and had grown accustomed to facing danger. The continuous victories had greatly boosted his confidence. Although this alien was unimaginably powerful, it couldn’t invoke a feeling of fear in him.

More than half an hour later, Taichu reminded, “One minute until arrival at the destination, take care.”

He steadied himself on the chair and said, “If I fail, abandon this section of the spaceship. And please, make sure humanity continues.”

“This is my mission.”

The transport pod began to slow down, and Chen Xu stopped talking, focusing on preparation.

When the pod stopped, he walked out of the hatch and heard Taichu’s voice, “Walk through this corridor, and the hall at the very end is the outermost area of the spacecraft.”

He dashed towards that direction as swiftly as possible, and halfway there, he heard the sound of metal twisting and cracking behind him. Without looking back, Taichu had already transmitted the image to him.

The alien creature emerged from a breach in the pod’s passage, standing there with its crimson eyes fixed on his retreating figure but it didn’t pursue him immediately, its limbs gently scraping the ground as if sensing danger.

“This thing has a keen sense of smell, huh.”

Chen Xu couldn’t help but remark. With such a monster, how could he possibly win using normal means?

He requested, “Close the passageway door behind me.”

With a swoosh, a door closed, cutting off the alien creature’s gaze.

It raised its head, appearing somewhat uneasy, but after a few seconds, sensing that Chen Xu was getting further away, it finally couldn’t hold back and burst out, tearing through the door and transforming into a black shadow.

By then, Chen Xu had already turned a corner; it lost sight of him once more and continued to pursue relentlessly.

Chen Xu noticed that instead of leaping long distances, it was now running, covering only a few meters with each step, obviously having learned from the previous trick.

Since its birth less than an hour ago, such learning capability was indeed terrifying.

He knew, if he didn’t eliminate it this time, it would never fall for the same trick again. Killing it would become much harder.

Thinking thus, he calculated the distance and as it was about to turn, he suddenly turned back and fired a shot. A blue energy beam hit directly at its head, snapping it back and almost making it lose balance.

He steadied himself, aiming his gun, and started to shoot continuously, not giving it a breather, hitting its body, claws, and the joints of its limbs.

A few shots later, a section of its limb dropped off, spurting a large amount of black viscous liquid that splashed onto the floor, corroding a hole.

Suddenly, Chen Xu realized it had disappeared; a few shots missed their mark, and he didn’t hesitate to turn and run.

Immediately, Taichu transmitted the image of the creature. It had dropped to the lower floor and continued its pursuit. Losing a limb seemed to have no effect on its movement; its speed was as astonishing as before.

Chen Xu casually cranked up the energy gun to its maximum power, estimating the distance in his mind. As he entered the innermost hall, he pressed the charging button and aimed the muzzle at the floor.

Below him on the lower level, the alien creature suddenly exited the range of the hall.

Within a flash in his vision, it had torn through the floor of the corridor and surged upwards with a speed too quick to evade, charging at him furiously.

“Tricked.”

A hint of triumph flashed in Chen Xu’s eyes as a hatch suddenly flung open beside him, revealing the dark void of space. A vast suction force pulled both man and beast towards the hatch.

Suddenly, a steel cable popped out from his waist, hooking onto the alloy handrail at the very edge. Under the tremendous suction, the steel cable whizzed taut.

A few meters away, the alien’s front claws and several limbs scratched frantically at the ground, sparking flames, but its body uncontrollably moved towards the hatch.

He aimed the gun at it and said, “Goodbye.”

With a bang, a dazzling blue light flashed, vaporizing the upper half of the alien creature’s body while the remaining half got swept into outer space.

The residual energy from the beam blasted a crater about ten centimeters deep into the wall of the ship but did not breach it.

Bang.

The hatch closed again, and the suction force disappeared. His body crashed to the ground, spread-eagled, gazing up at the ceiling lights as they returned to normal, and remarked, “Good teamwork.”

Taichu’s voice responded, “It’s what I should do.”
