After struggling through half the night, Ye Qilan’s fever finally subsided, and he dozed off.

Su Hongxing watched from a distance, not daring to come closer. During his fever, he babbled incoherently, sometimes calling her name, sometimes calling for Little Pudding.

She had never seen Ye Qilan so vulnerable; it was heart-wrenching.

Ye Qilan grabbed her hand, gazing intensely at her.

At that moment, Su Hongxing’s drowsiness vanished. She struggled to her feet and realized she was on the sofa.

“Take a day off today. Rest at home,” Ye Qilan picked up Su Hongxing, wanting to kiss her but stopped, fearing he might still be contagious.

Su Hongxing awkwardly sat on Ye Qilan’s lap, punching him lightly, “Are you not worried about passing your cold to me?”

“I just want to hold you for a while.” Ye Qilan let Su Hongxing put a mask on him again.

Su Hongxing yawned repeatedly and soon fell asleep.

Ye Qilan watched her sleep soundly, his eyes and brow softening. Just then, Age walked into the room and paused, fixing his gaze on the scene.

Ye Qilan signaled for Age to step out until Su Hongxing was soundly asleep. He then placed her back on the bed, tucked her in, and left the bedroom.

“Sir just got better; maybe you shouldn’t go to work today?” Age whispered.

Ye Qilan nodded, “Hmm, I’ll rest at home for three days. Let Fu Yan handle everything.”

Age was a bit stupefied upon hearing this; he didn’t expect Ye Qilan to be so agreeable.

Seeing him still standing there, Ye Qilan added, “Make some dishes Amou likes to eat and stew some nourishing soup to suit her taste. She was very tired yesterday.”

Age thought to himself that last night, Su Hongxing had done nothing but watch from a distance. Everyone had kept her away from Ye Qilan, given that both she and her unborn child were national treasures. No one dared to neglect that.
