Chapter 31: A Gift From Anne
Chapter 31: A Gift From Anne
When Asher woke up again, it was already evening. Because he was tired, he slept almost half of the day. By that time, many servants were in the mansion and when he went to bathe, no one was near the well.
It was good. He wasn’t that comfortable bathing around others so he quickly washed himself clean before someone else would come. And he didn’t forget to clean inside too. He didn’t know that someone did his best to clean there but still, he had to do it once again because he was worried.
He was worried he might get pregnant...
If his body mainly worked like a woman’s, then this must be the way he would get pregnant. Well, is there any other way?
He must not let those sperm make his belly big. He didn’t have any idea about that at first but now thinking that, he was terrified. He couldn’t afford to get pregnant and getting himself exposed.
He must pay more attention to this matter if he were to do this again with the duke. He must clean off his insides as soon as possible. He couldn’t ask the duke not to do that inside worrying it might raise suspicion. So he would secretly take care of it.
Maybe he should have just asked the duke not to do it inside to make things easier. But, no, he was comfortable solving things by himself and thought he would take matters into his own hands.
No matter how tired, he would be able to clean off his ass after that, right? Right? So it wouldn’t be a big problem anyway.
’Yeah, not a big deal.’
Sigh...
If the duke was to find out he was pregnant with his child, he might call him a rebel who came to threaten him with his possession. Something like that could happen. He still didn’t know if the duke was such a saint to forgive him for everything just because he somehow managed to help him.
He must be careful.
After coming back, he felt sleepy again and just fell asleep since he had nothing to do. He had such a good time sleeping.
’Will the duke have to suffer from the drug today? He will take care of himself. If I were to worry about him, my ass might soon disappear. Not every day! Thank god he didn’t ask me to come today too.’
He sighed, then fell asleep.
Meanwhile, in the mansion, the duke was still busy and he was disturbed again by his sister.
"Brother, I brought you a gift."
Felix put the pen down and walked to the little girl giving off the most innocent smile ever. He was still not happy with her but he didn’t drive her away. He just wasn’t that type. He was easy to coax and this evil thing knew it well.
But...She did the same thing again. Made him mad again...
Seeing Anne smiling widely, it kind of surprised Felix. His gut told him something bad was going to happen when he saw this gift. It was not like she always gave him bad gifts. She would sometimes give him flowers, fruits, maybe her leftover cake...
But this time, he obviously knew it was not something good. The blood smell wasn’t giving him any good feelings.
"..."
Felix was silent all the time because he was just nervous about her next plans. Very recently, she gave her warning to kill the next person. Now...she was there with a so-called gift, with a blood smell.
What was that?
"Here! You must not blame me for this gift. I worked hard for this. You better praise me."
Felix looked at her tilting her head and spitting words cutely. Then his gaze ran to her hands which were holding a little box wrapped with some paper clumsily. And the blood smell was coming from that so-called gift of course.
Felix exchanged glances from the box to Anne, then back to the box, hesitating to open it as he was in fear of finding out something bad. Did his sister perhaps...perhaps...kill the next person this soon?!
No! He must not let her go astray anymore! He must stop her, even if it would mean to lock her up...
Felix silently grabbed the box and looked at Anne smiling happily again. Then he moved his fingers to open up the box.
The wrapping was absolutely trash and it was just folded there lazily. Of course, it must be Anne. The box was made of wood and it didn’t even need any wrapping anyway. What was she thinking?
Anne waited patiently until he opened the box. She was very excited to see him opening the gift and stared at the box eagerly, with a wide smile, her eyes glowing from excitement.
Felix didn’t dare to accuse Anne of something before he would clearly know what would have happened.
He opened the box but only to be left in surprise as the inside was empty. Felix confusingly looked at Anne again, but she was still glaring at him with that same smile.
"Are you joking with me right now? It’s empty."
Felix suspiciously said and Anne clapped her hand and giggled.
"Hahaha...Brother was really fooled. Next time, I will bring you a real and better gift."
Anne said while wiping off the tears from laughing and left to the door. Felix stood there watching her figure walking out of the room.
But she suddenly stopped and turned to him with a smile.
But soon, the smile turned different and that was the exact same evil grin he knew well.
"How could you throw away my gift just because you think it’s ugly? This is just a preparation for my real gift. That gift will come to you soon. Even if you get mad, you should try to act calm or else you will grow old faster...I am going back... Work hard!"
Felix stood there in confusion and his head throbbed. Why was she suddenly telling some nonsense again? She said it was not a gift and then now said there was indeed a gift and...sigh... He couldn’t help but feel like his sister had become some crazy maniac.
His mind literally stopped working every time that grin came. Every time she began to behave like that, his gut always knew the storm would arrive soon. It always made him uneasy.
So...
What was the meaning of this sudden gift?
He repeated what she said in his mind and then started to think of the meaning.
What did she say?
A preparation for the gift?
She said he threw away the gift, didn’t she?
Then...
’The box...It’s not the gift she was talking about...’
Felix glared at the empty wooden box, then his eyes ran to the wrapping he threw away while blaming Anne’s lazy wrapping skills in his mind.
The gift...
The things he threw away first...
What else?
It was the wrapping!
