"Father, can’t you pay brother Lucas more and ask him to give my sister soon?"

Felix was suddenly pulled out of his daze when Anne pulled at his clothes and asked.

He then looked at Lucas and saw him covering his mouth and laughing.

"I didn’t say anything."

Lucas defended himself while laughing and Felix sighed as he then sat down, talking to Anne.

"Don’t you know? Brother Lucas can’t do anything. Only brother Ash can bring your sister. So...you can give him a hug and ask him to bring your sister as soon as possible."

Felix said and watched as she then immediately jumped to Asher, hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.

"You will bring my sister soon, right?"

Anne asked, very serious but cute.

"Yeah. But you have to be patient."

Asher said with a smile.

It was good she had such a joyful reaction. He couldn’t be happier.

"I will! I’m going to separate the toys for her now!’

Anne suddenly jumped down, her eyes glowing with excitement as she then rushed out of the room where Felix followed and handed her over to Mary to take care of her.

"Were you just dropping by?"

Felix came back inside and asked Lucas.

"No, I came to check on Asher. And, Karl wanted me to pass you a message."

"What?"

"He said he wants to have an important talk with you. As soon as possible and alone."

"...What is it about?"

"I don’t know. But he did look and sounded distressed. I had rarely seen that bastard look like that."

"...I will go and meet him tomorrow."

"Mm...I will inform him about it then."

"Okay."

Lucas then turned to Asher and reminded him about their previous talk before leaving to which Asher nodded as he had it on his mind.

’Maybe the witch might be a good choice. I never knew they had a witch here. I had never seen one before. So...are they really those stunning women that are hundreds of years old?’

Asher thought and turned to Felix who seemed to be in a daze.

"Everything seem to have gone well?"

Asher asked and Felix nodded, sighing.

"Yeah..."

Felix answered shortly and dazed off again which made Asher somewhat not believe him. But he left him alone for the moment.

Felix was actually still hung up on his conversation with Anne.

It still amazed him...

Why did she act like that?

It’s like she is a completely different person.

Like...so innocent....

"Did Lucas say anything? You health is okay, right?"

Felix ignored his concerns for a moment and looked at Asher and asked.

"Mmm....He said he wants me to go and meet the witch with him. He said the witch might be helpful to find out some information."

"Can I come too?"

"Yeah."

"Then, when will you go?"

"He asked me to tell him after discussing with you."

"Ah...Then let’s go the very next time when Lucas comes here again."

"Okay."

After talking some more, Asher then left by himself as he wanted to let Felix focus back on his work. He had disturbed him enough.

Even though Felix was left alone to work, he was thinking about Anne once again.

What did she say at that time? So...she really didn’t know anything...or...was she hiding things again?

"Wait! Brother Ash himself is going to make a baby?!"

When Anne asked that she sounded astonished and also excited.

"Yeah, brother is quite special."

"So, it’s a sister?!"

"Yeah."

"Can we go and see brother Ash?! I want to see him."

Anne said and that’s how they came to look for Asher.

She sounded like she had no idea about his specialty. And...she looked so surprised about the pregnancy and...also uncontrollably excited.

’Anne is confusing me.’

Felix finally managed to focus back on his work and the day went just like that.

And then the next day, as promised, he went to see Karl. Felix was curious about what he had to say though. He really didn’t want to hear any news right now because...usually Karl gets distressed only when something is too much for him...which is actually very rare...

"First of all....I know I have done a lot of things wrong and I know you might not forgive me. But...I am indeed apologetic and I want you to know I will accept any reaction you give."

Karl said first when they sat to talk and Felix now had a very bad feeling because...Karl had never looked this distressed indeed.

"What is it?"

"Mm...Before I tell you, I want you to know I did not wish any of these to happen, okay? I was just not good enough to stop any of it."

Karl said with a frown.

"...If you don’t tell me what you are talking about, how can I understand?"

"Just remember and then think about it when I tell you. Maybe once I tell you all this...you might not want to listen to me anymore. That’s why...."

"Karl, come to the point."

Felix grunted.

"...It’s...about little Anne."

"...What about her?"

"I...I- know the things you are curious and confused about. Are you ready to find out?"

Karl asked, fidgeting. Felix was quite taken aback by what he said but Felix then realised maybe...it’s finally time.

"...I was always prepared. But there was no one to explain things to me."

"I am sorry. I know I should have told these things to you long ago."

"Karl, I am getting impatient, so hurry up."

"...Did you talk to Anne...yesterday or today?"

Karl asked after a big sigh.

"Yeah."

"Is there any dif-"

"Difference?"

"...Yeah."

"Yea. She’s different."

Felix said and following a moment of silence, Karl cleared his throat.

"It’s because she is different now."

"Karl, just explain it to me."

"Felix, You now have a daughter who is just like any other child. A very normal 10 year old."

"So you mean she was never normal?"

Felix asked after a scoff.

"Was she?"

Karl mumbled and Felix hesitantly nodded his head.

"Yeah, she wasn’t normal."

Felix said.

"But now she is."

Karl said.

"So, how did it happen? and...how do you know about it?"

"Like I said, I knew a lot of things about her. Because...."

Karl hesitated and Felix disturbed him again.

"Because?"

"Because... she was not just your daughter."

Karl said and then, following a long silence from the both ends, Karl’s hoarse voice sounded again.

"She was also... my destined guardian spirit."
