My Dear Duke(BL) -
Chapter 174: The Guest(2)
Chapter 174: The Guest(2)
"Red eyes and red hair?"
Felix couldn’t help but take a gulp as the only person he could think of that resembled what Bill said was that guy from overseas.
But...he wouldn’t be here, right?...
"Did he not say anything else?"
"He said he doesn’t like waiting and no one had made him wait."
Bill said. At that time, when talking to that man, there was this ominous feeling he got. That man was weird. He was giving very bad vibes.
"I will come to see him. Tell him I will come soon."
"Okay duke."
Felix closed the door and walked back where Asher immediately noticed his distressed expression.
"What happened? Who was at the door?"
"It’s Bill. We have got an important guest."
Felix said and tidied up his clothes and hair as he couldn’t show up like a mess if it was really that guy. Well, Felix couldn’t think of anyone else and given that entitled talk Bill said, it could be him.
"...Is that your aunt?"
"No..."
"Then who is it? Why are you so stressed?"
Asher asked worriedly and held Felix’s cheeks.
"I think it’s that prince from North Archen. The one you saw."
"...No way. He won’t be here, will he?"
"Who knows? Bill said that person has red coloured eyes and red hair. How common is that?"
"Why is he here then?"
"I have to go and see to know. Stay here. I will come back soon."
"Felix, are you okay?"
Asher couldn’t unsee that nervous expression he saw on the duke’s face. Was it that frustrating to talk with a higher ranked person?
From what Asher knew...or saw, he thought that prince had a good impression on the duke even though it wasn’t the same from the duke.
Right...The duke almost resented him.
Asher remembered the duke saying how we can’t judge a person by what they just look like.
’I never got to ask why he hated that prince.’
Asher was curious now but he let the duke leave because it could be regarding some official matters. He didn’t want to interfere in places he didn’t understand anything or where he didn’t belong in the first place.
As Felix left, Asher sat in the room, feeling somewhat lonely.
’Well, technically I am not alone. I am here with my sweet girl. Right...I was going to ask him about a name too...’
Asher thought about all those random things again and laid down, immersed in his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Felix went to meet the guest where he was welcomed with the expected familiar face.
It was indeed him...
The third prin-no...Now, the emperor of the North Archen.
"It’s been a long time, Felix."
He said as he put one leg on the other, signing Felix also to take a seat.
Felix bowed and then sat down, just waiting to know why he was there.
Because other than that, Felix didn’t see any purpose for this meeting. And, he didn’t want to talk with him in the first place...that also at his own place.
"I am here to give you an invitation. Since the last time our celebration was ruined, you are welcome to actually enjoy a good festival again."
"Thank you."
Felix got the invitation, just thanked politely.
"Sigh...You must still hate me."
The emperor said after a sigh.
"It’s all in the past. It’s better we don’t talk about it again."
"Right...I came here especially because I wanted something more."
He said and Felix was alerted. But, in the end, Felix was left utterly shocked and was in disbelief.
"I wanted to apologise to you for all the trouble I caused. And I will be grateful if you can let go of it and consider it past like you said."
Felix thought his jaw might even hit the floor because...was he apologising? And...being very polite and looking honestly apologetic?
’Is this...another tactic?’
Felix was very suspicious and obviously it showed on his face. Seeing Felix’s frown and realising it, the man chuckled.
"Yeah, I am being serious. You see. Now I’m an emperor. I really mean what I say now. Even though I wasn’t being very honest before."
He said and after following a silence, there was another sigh.
"I will leave now. I said what I had to say."
Felix watched as he got up and escorted himself outside.
Felix was still in denial even though the emperor had already left.
How come a person changes so much?
’It’s weird he actually looked apologetic. Whatever...As long as he doesn’t bother me again. And, No matter what, now I am not in a situation to travel abroad. I will...politely decline the invitation later.’
Felix looked at the invitation and as he stepped out of the guest room, he handed it over to Bill to store it properly.
As Felix then stepped back into the room, Asher came to greet him and Felix left a big sigh, then hugging Asher and throwing both of them to the bed.
"What is it?"
Asher asked as he settled into a comfortable position.
"Another invitation."
Felix said blankly.
"For what? Wait- Was it really him?"
Asher, pausing his movements, asked.
"Mmm...because the last time the event couldn’t be held, now he is hosting another one and inviting the guests personally I guess."
Felix answered.
"Ah...I see. When is it?"
"I didn’t read the invitation yet."
"...Do you need someone to go with you this time too? "
"I am just not going."
"...Because of me?"
Asher asked with hesitation.
"Mm...I don’t want to stay away from you. We need to stay close so everything will go as planned. Extra things will be a nuisance."
"Mm..."
Asher kind of felt upset when he heard about this invite first...because actually, they have more things to care about at the time. A trip overseas for a long period or a short period would not be very suitable.
"Mm...so, talking about things...Would you talk to Miss Anne tomorrow?"
"Mm...I think I shouldn’t delay it any further."
"Then, let’s do it tomorrow."
Asher said.
...
On the carriage, sat the red haired man as he took a big gulp, turning to the beautiful woman with gorgeous golden coloured eyes.
"Did you apologise?"
She asked.
"I did."
Said the red haired man, very polite.
"What did he say?"
"...He said...nothing."
"Maybe he has not forgiven you yet."
"No! He said he doesn’t want to talk about it. I think he has forgotten it. I did what you asked. Now accept me, okay? My beautiful princess?"
"Mmm...But you shouldn’t do any disgusting things like that again."
"I know. I won’t. I will be loyal and good. Forever in your leash. I won’t misbehave!"
"Even if you dare, you know it won’t end well."
"...Yes, I know."
"Mmm, then let’s get married. I have forgiven you too. "
"Thank you."
The man grinned and the woman smiled back, her slender fingers rubbing the man’s lips, then leaning in as she placed a kiss on them.
"If you ever look at another man or a woman with that kind of an intention, I will be punishing you for it. Understood?"
"Yes, my empress."
"Mmm...You will be safe till you stay loyal to me."
The woman said with a smirk, then sat back adjusting her clothes, staring out of the window.
The red eyes of the man glowed in relief, yet the hint of fear that was hidden reaching up.
’I am saved for now...Damn this witch! I am so ill fated.’
