"Song Jia? How have you been.."

Song Jia feet immediately became rooted to the ground the moment she had that familiar voice.

"Song Jia? It’s me..Fen Wang.."

Her hands slowly clenched into fists as she bit her lips, tears streaming down her face. She was trying so hard to forget about him why did he suddenly appear.

Ming Beicheng sighed when he was the crying Song Jia, she obviously a victim of a "bad breakup"

"Song Jia?"

"Oh shut up! Song Jia, song Jia. You’re making my ears shut with your whining. Song Jia is under me, f**king shut up and get lost.."

Fen Wang expression changed as he looked at the handsome and nicely dressed man beside Song Jia.

"Song Jia..I-is he your new boyfriend?"

Ming Beicheng rubbed his temples this was too annoying.

"Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. But that’s not your concern. I’m giving one last chance to get lost, you don’t want to taste my anger. I’m guessing you’re the one who broke her, you want her back? Too bad?! You’ll never get her back.."

"Why! You’re not her boyfriend.."

"She’s too beautiful to settle for less, she has standards. If I want her I have no problem getting her.."

Ming Beicheng shoved his head into his pocket, he didn’t like getting into conversations like these.

"Let her go... Song Jia we have business to attend do.."

Ming Beicheng began walking he had taken three steps already when he saw that Song Jia was still rooted to ground.

He sighed and stretched his hand grabbing Song Jia’s clenched right hand.

Her eyes widened as she watched Ming Beicheng drag her towards the elevator.

"I want you back Song Jia, I need you back Song Jia, I’m falling apart without you. It’s truth I haven’t given you the recognition you deserve, you deserve so much better, you’ve helped me a lot and I didn’t realize that till I lost you. The truth is that woman was my ex girlfriend, i was drunk coming from a business party when she confronted me and i ending waking up in her hotel room, i was so disgusted and ashamed because nothing was supposed to happen between us. Three months later she reappeared with a pregnancy scan, I couldn’t deny the fact. She said she would post it on the internet that I had cheating on my girlfriend, i didn’t want that to happen so we got married. A week after my doctor friend who had done the fake pregnancy scan finally confessed. I divorced her immediately. I never wanted to lose you but it also made me realise that I haven’t been treating you properly.."

Song Jia stopped staring at Fen Wang with an annoyed gaze.

"You married her because you didn’t want to ruin your reputation but guess what you’ve already ruined your reputation in my eyes. My standards are high now and you don’t meet the requirements. In future let’s treat each other as strangers.."

She bowed and walked into the elevator with Ming Beicheng.

Song Jia faced the floor, seeing Fen Wang again she realized that she didn’t have to be sad. He was a total piece of trash.

And then there was Ming Beicheng who had stood up for her.

"Thank you for helping me out there sir.."

"I did not want to involve myself but you were wasting too much time deciding if you should take him back or not. It would be unprofessional for my boss to meet us in such a position.."

Somg Jia smiled and nodded, the elevator became quiet once again.

Ming Beicheng gave her a side eye, she was pretty that’s for sure but he didn’t know why he decided to help her? Maybe because of how pitable she looked.

He shook his head, he just got out of that mental hospital where he had been trapped for a year. He hadn’t gotten his life on track, this was not the time to look at women.

Tang Xue Mei arrived some minutes later, Song Jia was quite surprised to see that that Ming Beicheng’s boss was this young.

"Hello I’m Tang Xue Mei.."

Tang Xue Mei stretched out her hand towards Song Jia with a cool smile on her face.

"H-hello I’m Song Jia.."

Tang Xue Mei nodded and sat down, her eyes falling on Song Jia’s face, she was really beautiful lady except for the aura of depression that followed her around.

"Alright, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. I’m opening a restaurant and I’m looking for the best chefs in the capital, since you filled that application, that means you must be one of best chefs in capital. To get this job you’ll have to make two dishes, you’ll make a fruit filled dumpling and chow mein but here’s this twist, you have to make it using western method but it has to taste chinese. If you can wow me, this job is yours.."

Song Jia blinked, she understood that Tang Xue Mei was trying like other restaurant owners to make their food unique but chinese food made with western method might sometimes lose its touch.

"Why if I make ask?"

"Because it’s going to be the most unique restaurant ever established in the capital. The dishes should leave people coming back for more and that’s why we need talented chefs.

Song Jia nodded she could see that the young lady was quite ambitious but in a good way, she wanted something and she was fighting for it.

"Alright, your time starts now.."

Feng Shihan pushed the door gently as he walked into the room.

He sighed seeing his grandfather lying weakling on the bed.

Why can’t he just act like an actual old man. He was too stubborn!

"Grandfather.."

Feng Shihan sat on the chair and started peeling the apple on the table.

"You bastard! Why are you here, do you want to kill me?"

"Calm down, why can’t you just act like a pitiful old man and let people pity you.."
