Chapter 219: The End Auck these cute kiddos ^^
FIVE YEARS LATER!
As the aroma of delicious food wafted through the air, the atmosphere was lively and filled with laughter. Tang Xue Mei, Feng Shihan, Qin Mingyue, and Tang Can were gathered around the dining table, enjoying a family dinner. The twins, now five years old, were busy playing with Jaehyun and Haoran in the corner of the dining room, their giggles and shouts punctuating the air.
"Can you believe how fast time has flown?" Tang Xue Mei mused, pouring a glass of juice for herself. "It feels like just yesterday we were all planning our weddings."
Qin Mingyue chuckled, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "And we all survived the drama, didn’t we? I still can’t get over how you handled Ye Chen Ling at your wedding."
"Let’s not forget how our vows ended up being a competition of sorts," Feng Shihan added with a grin. "Every one of us was trying to outdo the other."
"Right? I thought I had the most romantic vow until I heard yours!" Tang Can laughed, shaking her head.
"Haoran was literally kicking in my belly during the ceremony, I think he was eager to be part of the celebration," Qin Mingyue said, looking down fondly at her son who was trying to stack building blocks with the twins.
"Speaking of weddings, remember when the twins were only babies? They were so little; it’s hard to believe they’re already five!" Tang Xue Mei said, watching Shenhua and Shenmei as they ran around.
"Jaehyun was a tiny bundle of energy too; I’m glad we’ve all made it this far," He Xu Cai said with a smile, joining the conversation. "Every wedding brought us closer, didn’t it?"
"Absolutely. And just think about it: we were all there for each other, through the highs and lows," Feng Shihan reflected, raising his glass. "To our families, and to many more memories together!"
"Let’s build a castle!" Jaehyun suggested, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"No, Jae-jae... I want to be a space princess!" Shenmei smiled as she hugged her pink bunny plushie tightly.
"Space princesses can live in castles too!" Shenhua chimed in, grinning as he stacked blocks into a tall tower. "And they can have a rocket ship!"
Haoran nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! And the rocket can have a garden!" He waved his arms, pretending to fly around the room.
"But what if the dragon comes?" Jaehyun asked, furrowing his brow.
"I’ll be the dragon!" Shenhua declared, puffing out his chest. "Roar! But I won’t eat you, space princess!"
Shenmei giggled. "You can’t eat me, Huahau! I have magical powers!"
"Then ill save you!" Haoran said, bouncing on his knees. "I’ll be the knight who saves the princess!"
"Okay! But first, we have to build the castle!" Jaehyun insisted, picking up more blocks. "And make it super tall!"
"Let’s make it sparkle!" Shenmei added, her eyes wide with imagination. "We need glitter!"
Haoran clapped his hands. "And flowas ! Lots of flowas in the garden!"
Shenhua nodded seriously. "And I can guard the castle from all the monsters!"
"Yeah! You can be the brave dragon!" Jaehyun cheered, handing Shenhua a block.
As the four of them began stacking the blocks higher, laughter filled the room as they created their imaginative world together.
Meanwhile, the adults at the dinner table watched the children with warm smiles, reminiscing about their own adventures.
"This is what it’s all about," Tang Xue Mei said softly, her heart swelling with love for her family.
"Absolutely," Feng Shihan agreed, pride shining in his eyes as he watched their kids build memories together.
As the kids continued their imaginative play, Shenmei suddenly reached too far to grab a block from the edge of the table. She lost her balance and tumbled onto the soft carpet, letting out a small gasp as she landed.
"Meimei!" Jae-jae exclaimed, rushing over to her side. "Are you okay?"
Shenhua and Haoran followed close behind, worry etched on their faces.
Shenmei sat up, rubbing her knee, which had a small scrape. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she looked at her brother and cousins, feeling a little embarrassed. "I’m okay... just a little hurt."
"No, you’re not!" Shenhua said, kneeling next to her and examining the scrape. "You need a bandage!"
"Mhm! I’ll go and tell Auntie Gu. Meimei needs a bandage" Haoran declared, jumping to his feet. "Stay here, meimei!"
"Don’t cry! You’re the space princess!" Jaehyun said, trying to cheer her up. "Space princesses don’t cry! They’re brave!"
"Yeah!" Shenhua added, his voice determined. "You have magical powers! You can make your knee better!"
Shenmei sniffled, but a small smile crept onto her face. "I can?"
"Of course! Just close your eyes and think really hard!" Jaehyun instructed, kneeling beside her.
Shenmei squeezed her eyes shut, imagining her knee healing magically. "Okay... I’m thinking!"
Haoran returned with Auntie Gu, who knelt down beside Shenmei. "What happened, sweetheart?"
"I fell," Shenmei said, pointing to her knee. "But Jae-jae said I have magical powers!"
Auntie Gu chuckled softly. "You do, but it’s okay to ask for help, too. Let’s clean this up, and I’ll put a bandage on it."
Shenhua nodded seriously. "And then we can build the biggest castle ever, right?"
"Yeah! With glitter and flowers!" Shenmei said, her spirits lifting.
Auntie Gu gently cleaned the scrape and applied a colorful bandage featuring cartoon animals. "There you go! All better! Now, what were you kids building la?"
"A castle!" Ranran exclaimed, bouncing on his feet. "With flowas and a rocket ship!"
"And I’m the dragon! Rose!!" Shenhua announced proudly, puffing out his chest once more. "But I’m a nice dragon!"
"Yeah, you’re the best dragon hua hua!" Shenmei said, feeling braver now. "And Auntie Gu is the fairy who makes all our boobos go away.."
"Aiyah! These cute kids!" Auntie Gu chuckled as she let the kids have their fun heading back to the kitchen.
"Let’s go back to playing!" Jaehyun encouraged, holding out his hand to help Shenmei stand up.
Together, they returned to their makeshift castle, laughter filling the air as they resumed their game.
"Now we can have a royal feast!" Shenmei declared, pretending to pour imaginary tea for everyone. "Welcome to my castle, brave knights and friendly dragon!"
"And I’ll protect you from all the bad guys!" Shenhua said, drawing his imaginary sword.
"Me too! Let’s fight them together!" Haoran added, brandishing an invisible weapon.
