Tang Xue Mei smiled warmly at Leia, her hand resting gently on her friend’s shoulder. "You don’t have to apologize. I’m just happy you’re here now."

Leia grinned as she adjusted her wheelchair, moving closer to the twins, her eyes filled with admiration. "Look at these little angels. Shenhua and Shenmei, right? You’ve got your hands full now."

Tang Xue Mei laughed, nodding. "Yes, they’re already a handful, but I wouldn’t have it any other way."

Feng Shihan joined them, handing Shenhua to Tang Xue Mei while he gave Leia a light pat on the shoulder. "Leia, we’ll get you back on your feet soon enough. In the meantime, you can help us spoil these two."

"What’s going on?" Tang Xue Mei whispered, swinging her legs off the bed. "They were fine just a few hours ago."

"They’re probably just unsettled from the move," Feng Shihan said, though he sounded just as tired as she did. He got up quickly and headed to the bassinet where Shenhua was already flailing his tiny arms in protest.

Tang Xue Mei joined him, picking up Shenmei, who was crying even harder. She gently bounced her daughter, trying to soothe her. "Shhh, it’s okay, baby. Mummy’s here."

Feng Shihan cradled Shenhua, gently patting his back, but the baby’s cries only seemed to grow louder. Tang Xue Mei glanced at him, her brow furrowing in worry. "Why won’t they calm down?"

"I don’t know," Feng Shihan replied, his voice tense with frustration. "Maybe they’re still adjusting to being home."

Tang Xue Mei bit her lip, pacing around the room with Shenmei in her arms. "What if something’s wrong? What if they’re uncomfortable or sick?"

Just then, Auntie Gu knocked softly on the door before poking her head inside. "I heard the little ones crying," she said with concern, stepping in. "Is everything alright?"

"We’re not sure," Tang Xue Mei admitted, glancing at Auntie Gu helplessly. "We’ve tried feeding them, but they’re not hungry."

Auntie Gu moved closer and gently stroked Shenmei’s back as she let out another ear-piercing wail. "It could be colic or gas. Have you tried massaging their tummies?"

Tang Xue Mei looked over at Feng Shihan, and they both exchanged a look of realization. "No, we haven’t," Feng Shihan said, feeling a little guilty for not thinking of it sooner.

Auntie Gu smiled kindly and took Shenmei into her arms, carefully rubbing her belly in small, gentle circles. "It’s common for babies to have a little gas after feeding. Sometimes it just needs a bit of help working its way out."

Tang Xue Mei quickly took Shenhua from Feng Shihan and copied Auntie Gu’s motions, gently massaging his tiny belly. After a few moments, Shenhua’s cries began to subside, and Tang Xue Mei could feel the tension leaving his small body.

"There you go, little one," she whispered, her voice soft and soothing. "It’s alright now."

A few moments later, Shenmei let out a soft burp in Auntie Gu’s arms, and her cries faded into soft whimpers before stopping altogether.

"See?" Auntie Gu said with a proud smile. "Sometimes it’s just the little things."

Tang Xue Mei let out a relieved breath, her body sagging with exhaustion as she handed Shenhua back to Feng Shihan. "Thank you, Auntie Gu. I don’t know what we would’ve done without you."

Auntie Gu smiled warmly. "It’s no trouble at all. You’re new parents—it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. But you’re doing a wonderful job."

Feng Shihan nodded, his expression softening as he looked down at the now-quiet Shenhua. "We’ll get better at this. It’s just going to take some time."

Tang Xue Mei smiled wearily. "Yeah, I guess we just have to take it one step at a time."

As the twins finally settled back into a peaceful sleep, Feng Shihan and Tang Xue Mei quietly tucked them back into their bassinets. The room returned to its calm state, the soft sounds of the babies breathing filling the space once more.

"We survived another one," Feng Shihan whispered as he wrapped his arm around Tang Xue Mei.

She smiled, leaning into him. "Barely. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But I’m having a feeling these two are going to be an handful."
