Chapter 101: Life

Another year has passed, it was a pretty ordinary year, I didn’t make much progress in my research, but I achieved a great feat right at the end of the year, I discovered that the blood of the progenitor of the vampires is charged with pure vitality.

Or rather, I can say that it is charged with the "essence of life" and this is what makes Elizabeth immortal, her blood has so much vitality that she cannot die.

But this gave me an interesting idea, if death itself has a physical form... doesn’t life also have one? Thinking about this, I decided to try to summon life to help me.

I made an excellent plan to summon life that I’m sure must be as strong as Sayuri and she should be able to help me in some way.

I can use Elizabeth’s blood as a catalyst to do this, the biggest problem is that I don’t know the name of life, but since it is life, it probably doesn’t have heralds like death and if it does, there must be few of them I hope.

Anyway, even if I don’t know the name, I can try to summon it by connection, death and life are connected, if I use my curse as a bridge, I should be able to summon life to me.

And I’m sure she’ll be a cool person after all, she’s life, she can probably help me, and that’s why before going to Elizabeth’s castle I made another magic summoning circle.

But instead of trying to summon death, this magic circle does the opposite, trying to summon life, of course the source of the summons is Elizabeth’s blood that I received as a gift, it has so much vitality that it should serve for this.

However, I must invoke her before Elizabeth comes to get me, now that the 1-year period has passed, I must abandon Yuki, Elizabeth didn’t show up for 1 week, which marks the 1 month she gave me when I asked to "say goodbye" to Yuki and prepare my fake death.

It means that I only have two more weeks to summon life, but this time is not a problem.

Although I’m just using this time to make the magic circle, I’ve made several adjustments and other things and now I’m in the secret passage of the mansion, which was the place where I slept for a long time.

I made the magic circle in this location for safety, anyway it’s much more efficient this way and prevents Yuki from finding it since although he knows about this passage, he never enters it.

I’m sitting in a chair reading a book, or rather reading a "diary" where I write the magic circles while setting up the magic circle, I don’t write anything about my life, so it’s more of a notebook than a diary.

"I think I just need a little blood..." Elizabeth’s blood wasn’t enough, I need at least a little more, but I think I can make up for that with my own blood.

And I believe this because my power is now quite high and since I’ve drunk Elizabeth’s blood, I have a near immortality of the same type as hers, so my blood should also have a lot of vitality.

"Hmmm..." I pour my blood that I will prepare in advance and wait, if everything goes well, life will be summoned at some point, so I start to write some things in my diary.

"..."

’Is it already working?... how fast... I didn’t expect something to respond to the summons so quickly.’ Unlike Sayuri, who didn’t respond to me at the exact moment of the summons, in this summons something responded quickly.

"..." A girl with long green hair and beautiful emerald eyes appears in the magic circle, she is wearing clothes that evoke a nostalgic feeling in me, having a touch of comfortable modernity, like casual wear.

"Hi..." I’m not sure what to say, so I just drop the "diary" on the floor and look at the girl, she lets out a long sigh.

"Shizune, I can’t remove your curse, I can’t talk to my sister about her removing your curse, I can’t provide you with much support, I won’t make you immortal," the girl begins to speak with a resigned expression, even though I haven’t said anything yet.

"I won’t send you to another safe world and among other requests that I know you’ll try to make, I hope you understand that I’m handcuffed when it comes to your situation," the girl speaks even before I ask, as if I were super predictable.

"So... you’re Sayuri’s sister... and you know about me?" This is kind of strange, I’m talking to a girl who is my ex-girlfriend’s sister, so she must know that I betrayed her sister.

"Yes, I know everything about you, after all, you’re alive," she says something that makes perfect sense, if she is Life and I am alive, obviously she knows who I am.

"...But..." I try to negotiate somehow.

"No ’buts,’ Shizune, Sayuri won’t change her mind even if I talk to her, you really shouldn’t have betrayed her," Life’s gaze is serious, but there is no disgust or disdain, just the kind of calm look of someone who knows everything.

"..."

"Are you reading my mind?" She always speaks before I finish or even start to speak.

"No, I just know you very well, who do you think is cleaning up the messes your presence creates in the many worlds you visit?" She speaks with a slight irony.

"...Sorry for causing problems," I apologize in advance.

"It’s okay, Shizune, it’s not entirely your fault... I’ll tell you the status of your acquaintances."

"Alyssa started killing without stopping, trying to use black magic to bring you back, Azuli ended up completely freezing the world she’s in."

"Alehandro ended up creating a new religion to worship you as a deity, Himari practically committed suicide in succession after killing you, and Hiroshi continued almost the same thing."

"Although he kept your body in a freezing chamber, thinking you’re still alive and that he can reanimate you with technology."

"Aiden is trying to move on with his life, he got a little better because of your last written words to him, as for Haruto... well, it’s something kind of disgusting to talk about."

’So that’s what happened to everyone I’ve already met...’ A little surprising, although I didn’t expect her to tell me about these things, I wonder why she’s telling me this.

She moves, sitting on the nearest surface, which is a small table.

"Shizune, do you regret betraying Sayuri?" She asks me with a serious face, but there is no reproach in her gaze, making the question sound very deep.

"Yes..."

"Really truly? Or do you just can’t stand the pain anymore, so you think you regret it?" She speaks with some doubt about my yes.

"I truly regret it!" I confirm that I am truly sorry.

"I see, then Shizune, I’m really sorry for you, but I can’t help you with many things, all I can do is give you advice and be your friend if you want."

"By the way, my name is Yui Asahina," she introduces herself with a gentle smile, I feel strangely calm in her presence, which differs greatly from Sayuri and her destructive presence.

’Friend...’

"Yui, then can you allow me to summon you easily whenever I want?" Having her give me advice all the time would be great.

"...Why?"

"Just to have a companion to give me advice, you know? Like whenever I’m in a really bad situation, I can summon you and ask for advice." I would really love to have Life itself advising me.

"..." Yui seems to think about my words for a moment.

"...I think... I can do that, anyway, you’re almost family to me, considering you’re my sister’s love, and as I said I can give you advice, I think I’m not breaking any rules."

"But Shizune, I recommend stopping trying to summon beings like me or Sayuri, after all, that can go very wrong for you, so never use that method again," Yui gets up and comes to me, holding my hand.

"You already have 2 magics engraved in your soul aside from the curse, so there’s not much space, but I’ll make a magic so you can call me whenever you want and ask for advice."

"And Shizune... you’re improving, the idea of engraving magics in your soul is very good, even if they don’t work in worlds without magic, I’ve adjusted them to work in other worlds without any problem," she says with a gentle smile.

"Thank you very much," I say excitedly, it was very lucky that she is so nice, this was a problem I still had to fix, after all, these magics wouldn’t work in worlds without magic.

"Ah, and Shizune, I’ll give you a little warning, if you go to Elizabeth’s castle... you’ll die... and if you stay in this mansion, you’ll also die, but if you try to escape, you can delay your death." Yui says without that gentle smile.

"Yui, could you give me some advice?" It seems this world is about to end.

"...Try to be special, the Yanderes like that, be always unique and special to the point where killing you would be considered a waste for them... that’s the best advice I can give you for now."

"I have to go, after all, your magic isn’t strong enough to keep me here for long, I wish you luck, Shizune, and ask that you avoid doing evil deeds."

"Your actions bring you closer to and further away from me and Sayuri, the more bad deeds you do, the closer you’ll be to Sayuri, and the more good deeds you do, the closer you’ll be to me."

She disappears in particles of light, leaving me confused. I didn’t exactly understand what she meant, but if my actions make me closer to one of them, then I should be good.

After all, Yui seems much better than Sayuri, at least Yui tried to help me in her own way, and that already shows that she’s a nice enough person for me.

"Well, she recommended that I run away, so I guess fleeing is the solution." If all I can do is delay my death in this world, then while I delay my death, I can try to learn things.

She said to be special for the Yanderes, so I’ll learn everything, I’ll wander the world in disguise while trying to absorb the maximum diverse knowledge possible.
