My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back
Chapter 64: To The Salon

Chapter 64: To The Salon

"We need to talk."

Eryx, who was just about to enter the room, suddenly halted as Lunara moved to rush past him.

"Naomi, let’s go."

Ignoring him completely, she brushed past without a second glance.

Eryx’s eyes darkened as he watched her brush past him without so much as a glance. His jaw clenched. "Lunara."

She didn’t stop. If anything, she walked faster.

He exhaled sharply, reaching out and grabbing her wrist before she could leave. "I said we need to talk." His voice was low and firm.

Lunara finally turned to face him, her expression unreadable. "And I don’t want to." She pulled her hand away. "You’ve already made everything clear, haven’t you?"

Naomi, standing awkwardly nearby, shifted uncomfortably. "Uh... maybe I should—"

"Stay," Lunara said without hesitation, before looking back at Eryx. "Whatever you have to say, I’m not interested."

Eryx’s patience thinned. "Lunara, don’t be childish."

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. "Childish? You’re right—I am. I’m just a twenty-three-year-old childish woman who was told to keep this marriage a secret after you said you wanted to fix it." She took a step back, her gaze sharp. "So what is it now? Did you change your mind again?"

Eryx remained silent, his expression unreadable.

Lunara let out a quiet scoff and shook her head. "Exactly what I thought." Without another word, she grabbed Naomi’s hand and walked away, leaving Eryx standing there, watching her disappear.

As Lunara and Naomi descended the stairs, the tension in the air lingered like an unshaken storm.

Naomi leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "Are you sure? I’m afraid his volcano might erupt."

Lunara exhaled sharply, her grip on Naomi’s hand tightening for a brief second. "Let it." Her voice was steady, but the way her fingers curled against her palm betrayed her frustration. "Has he ever gotten angrier than he usually does?" She paused in the middle of the stairs, glancing back as if expecting him to follow. "I mean, he’s always like that."

"I wouldn’t want to see that again," Naomi murmured, flinching at the memory of the last time Eryx truly lost his temper. His expression at that moment was something she never wanted to witness again. It was cold, unreadable but terrifying in its stillness.

Lunara gulped, "Whatever, I have decided to just live my life. I don’t want anyone to control myself. Let’s go."

Naomi studied Lunara for a moment, sensing the determination in her voice, but also the slight tremble in her fingers.

"Alright," Naomi sighed, deciding not to push further. She looped her arm through Lunara’s and tugged her down the stairs.

As they reached the last step, a familiar voice called out from the hallway.

"Lunara," Regina’s smooth, knowing tone made them both pause.

Lunara turned, finding Regina watching them with mild amusement. "I already told my assistant to inform the salon and the stylist," she said, tilting her head. "I assumed you’d be heading there right after breakfast."

Naomi glanced at Lunara, who remained composed, though her fingers curled slightly at her sides. "Are you sure? You really love your hair." She pouted, gently tugging at the tip of Lunara’s hair.

Lunara exhaled, a faint smile playing on her lips. "It’s just hair, Naomi. It’ll grow back."

Naomi sighed dramatically. "Yeah, but it won’t be the same. You’ve been growing it for years!"

Lunara shrugged, stepping toward the waiting car. "Maybe that’s the point." She lifted a section of her hair and held it out to Naomi. "Look at this. I can’t even handle it properly, and it’s already damaged."

Naomi inspected the strands with a pout. "It doesn’t look that bad to me. But if you’re sure..."

"I am." Lunara opened the car door and slid inside, Naomi following suit.

As the driver pulled away from the mansion, Naomi leaned her head against the seat. "So, what kind of short are we talking about? Chic bob? Shoulder-length? Or are you going full rebellion mode?"

Lunara smirked slightly, running her fingers through her hair one last time. "Nah... something fresh, like a cut that fits a new beginning."

Naomi narrowed her eyes. "You’re not doing this just because of Eryx, right?"

Lunara leaned back against the seat, her gaze fixed outside the window. "If I was, I’d probably be shaving it all off." She sighed, shaking her head. "No, Naomi. This is for me. I just... I want a change."

Naomi studied her for a moment before nodding. "Alright. But if you start crying after the first snip, I will say ’I told you so.’"

Lunara chuckled. "Deal."

About half an hour after, Eryx got into the car, his mood as dark as a storm cloud. The driver focused on the road, but the tension in the car was heavy, like thunder about to strike.

His fingers tapped against his knee, his jaw tight. Lunara’s words kept replaying in his mind, making his irritation worse.

"Should I go to the salon first?" he muttered to himself.

"Sorry, sir?" the driver asked, unsure if Eryx was speaking to him.

Eryx shook his head. "No, it’s nothing."

The car continued in heavy silence until his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and Amara’s name appeared.

He let it ring for a moment before finally answering. "What is it?"

"Mr. Grantham," Amara’s voice was polite but firm. "I was wondering if you had time to meet. It’s about Mila."

His grip on the phone tightened slightly. "What about her?"

"I’d rather discuss it in person," she said. "If you’re available, can we meet today?"

Eryx exhaled sharply. There were a lot of things on his mind at the moment, but Mila’s matter was one of his top priorities, something he couldn’t just ignore.

"Where?" he asked.

"Lume Café. Does an hour from now work for you?"

There was a brief pause before he answered. "Fine."

As he ended the call, he signaled to the driver. "Change of plans. Take me to Lume Café."

Then, after a moment of thought, he stared at his phone before dialing Callum’s number.

The moment the call connected, he asked, "I don’t have any important meetings today, right?"

After hearing Callum’s response, he nodded slightly. "Okay. Then I won’t be going to the office today."
