Chapter 195: Drunk-Wrestler Lunara
Chapter 195: Drunk-Wrestler Lunara
"I can walk..." Lunara wiggled in Eryx’s arms as he insisted on lifting her to the dining table.
"You said your back is hurting," Eryx said, furrowing his brows as he looked at Lunara, who was pouting in dissatisfaction.
"And whose fault is that?" She poked his chest adorably.
Eryx frowned. "Why is that my fault? I didn’t do anything to you." He protested, his tone annoyed as if recalling the chaos from last night. "I’m a gentleman, okay? Even though you gave me permission...which I’m sure you don’t even remember."
"Wait..." She pulled herself up by wrapping her arms around his neck. "We... did not?"
"Nope, we did not."
Eryx leaned in, brushing his nose against hers with a teasing smile. "And if you’re wondering why your back is aching right now..."
He paused, clearly holding back a laugh, then muttered, "You kept flipping us over. Like, a lot. One moment you were on top, the next I was... then bam, your back hit the steering wheel hard."
Lunara blinked. "Wait... what?"
"You were drunk, honey. But still surprisingly aggressive," Eryx said with mock seriousness, rubbing her lower back gently. "You kissed like you were in a wrestling match."
"And that’s all?" Lunara blinked again, disbelief written all over her face.
"What, were you hoping for more?" he teased.
Then, as he gently placed her down on the chair, he leaned in, lips close to her ear.
"You were yelling about your back hurting... then the next second, you slumped over me and started snoring." He chuckled, eyes twinkling. "It was adorable, though."
Before she could bury herself deeper in embarrassment, he pinched her cheek gently. "Not gonna lie, I kinda liked drunk-wrestler Lunara. Very passionate."
Lunara pouted, looking slightly disappointed as she picked up her fork.
Eryx caught the look and grinned. "What’s with that face? Still upset we didn’t finish our little match?"
She didn’t answer, just gave him a dramatic sigh.
Leaning in close, his voice dropped to a teasing whisper. "We can always continue wrestling... after you’re full."
She rolled her eyes, stabbing a piece of fruit with her fork. "No, thanks. Your time is up." She stuck out her tongue and ate the fruit.
Eryx smirked. "Cold. Did I break your heart that bad in your dream last night?"
Lunara didn’t miss a beat. "No. Just recovering from the real-life version."
Before she could say more, Eryx suddenly sat and pulled the chair closer to her, then gently tugged her into his embrace, one arm wrapped around her waist, the other brushing her hair aside. His lips were close to her ear when he spoke, voice quiet and raw.
"You have no idea how much I’ve missed you."
Lunara stiffened slightly in surprise, but his warmth... his scent... she missed them too.
"I’d come home and expect you to be there," he continued, his voice low, "only to remember you asked for space. And I tried to respect that. But every single day without you...felt wrong. Like the house didn’t know how to breathe right without you in it."
Lunara blinked, touched by his words and just a little guilty.
Eryx pressed a kiss to her hair. "That’s why I sold the bungalow."
She froze. "You what?"
"I sold it," he repeated calmly. "And bought this place instead. Two weeks ago."
Lunara pulled back just enough to see his face, her jaw slack. "You can just... sell and buy a house like that?"
He shrugged lightly, as if it were nothing. "I didn’t like how empty it felt without you. This one had a better view anyway."
"You’re insane," she breathed, still staring at him in disbelief. "And correction... Mr. Eryx Cyrus, that bungalow didn’t do anything wrong! I only slept there once."
Eryx let out a soft laugh, the corners of his eyes crinkling. "True, but one night there was enough to leave your presence everywhere in that house. Can you imagine a whole month in that place without you by my side?"
Lunara folded her arms, trying not to smile. "Hello, Mr. Eryx, you lived just fine without me for, like, thirty years." She rolled her eyes.
He looked at her quietly for a second before replying, softer this time, "Yeah... but now I know what it’s like having you. And that makes everything before feel a little less like living."
Lunara let out a laugh, a bright, healthy kind that echoed in the room. "What a smooth pickup line, bro!" she teased, poking his chest.
But really, she was just trying to hide the way her heart skipped at his words.
He smiled, pinching her nose, "Finish your breakfast and let’s talk, there are a lot of things that we need to talk about."
Lunara furrowed, "That sounds serious, and I started to get worried now."
"You should," Eryx narrowed his eyes playfully, "because after this, no more drinking without me." he cupped her lips using his fingers before his phone suddenly rang. "Eat first, I need to answer the call."
Immediately standing up, he headed to the balcony, "Yes, Callum."
"Sir..." Callum’s voice sounded serious on the other line. "I’ve got the footage at the bar last night."
Eryx instantly furrowed his eyes, "And?"
Callum hesitated for a second, then continued, "It’s...just that something happened at the bar," he paused again, "but thankfully, I mean I don’t know how to word it, but someone saved her from being taken away from a group of young men."
Eryx frowned, glancing back at Lunara who was munching happily, completely unaware of the weight of Callum’s words.
"What do you mean to be taken away?" Eryx’s voice dropped, laced with quiet alarm.
"One of them tried to lead her out of the bar. She was clearly drunk, sir. But then this guy... he stepped in. He got between them, made them back off. Honestly, if it weren’t for him..." Callum trailed off, letting the implication hang.
Eryx’s jaw clenched as he turned back toward the cityscape. His voice came out cold. "Find out who he is. And the guys who approached her. Every single one."
"Sir...actually, the man is Mr. Adam." Callum dropped the identity of the guy.
"What do you mean?" Eryx asked, just to clear the confusion in his mind.
"The man who saved Madam. It was Mr. Adam Will."
