My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back -
Chapter 191: Broken Heart
Chapter 191: Broken Heart
Lunara walked briskly out of the building, the cool air hitting her flushed face. She didn’t even know where she was going, she just needed to get away.
Behind her, Naomi’s voice rang out. "Lunara! Wait...hey!"
Lunara glanced back and immediately slowed down. Naomi was trying to catch up, one hand on her stomach, clearly pushing herself too hard.
"Naomi, stop...don’t run," Lunara said, walking back toward her in alarm.
Naomi finally caught up, panting lightly. "You shouldn’t have left like that."
"I didn’t want to make a scene," Lunara muttered. "I just... I needed to breathe."
Naomi frowned, eyes scanning her friend’s face. "Ara... are you okay?"
"I’m fine," she lied. "I just don’t feel well. I think I’ll go home and lie down for a bit."
Naomi looked unconvinced. "You sure?"
Lunara gave a small nod. "Yeah."
Naomi hesitated, then squeezed her arm gently. "Okay. But text me as soon as you get in."
"Okay," Lunara said, before quickly stepping into the taxi that had just pulled up.
"Alright, baby," she murmured. "Time to deal with your stupid uncle."
She turned sharply and made her way back into the building, ignoring the curious stares from the receptionist as she jabbed the elevator button. The doors slid open and she stepped inside, arms crossed tightly, her jaw set.
By the time she reached the top floor, she wasn’t even breathing hard but her rage was simmering just beneath the surface.
She marched straight past the assistant’s desk. "Don’t even try to stop me," she said as the secretary rose in alarm.
Eryx looked up from his desk just in time to see the door swing open with force.
Naomi stepped in. "We need to talk. Now."
Eryx’s gaze snapped up, his expression sharp with irritation. "I don’t have time for this. If it’s not important, leave."
He barely looked at her before turning his attention back to the papers on his desk.
Naomi’s voice cut through the air like glass. "Ah... but you had time for brunch with a model today? A close friend of yours?"
That made him pause. His pen stilled, hovering mid-signature.
She took a step forward. "Seraphine, right? Or do you have so many models in your contact list that you forget who you’ve been seen with?"
Eryx looked up again, slower this time, his jaw tightening.
"Lunara was here," Naomi continued, her voice low but seething. "She came, hoping... hoping for something. And then she ran into Seraphine, who made sure to mention how light you were eating because, oh, maybe you were saving room for your wife."
She folded her arms tightly across her chest. "But the truth is...her husband was too busy to even ask if his wife had eaten at all."
Eryx’s jaw clenched, but he said nothing.
Naomi took a breath, steadying herself. "Do you even know why she came? Or do you think she just shows up at your company for fun?"
She didn’t wait for him to answer. "She was trying, Eryx. And all it took was one stupid sentence from one sneaky model to remind her why she shouldn’t have."
Her eyes locked onto Eryx’s as she continued, "You told the world she’s your wife. You say you love her. So why does it feel like she’s the only one fighting for this?"
Eryx remained silent, his eyes darted back on the papers in front of him.
Naomi’s frustration bubbled over. "Up to you. And if one day she decides she won’t fight anymore... that’s your loss." Without waiting for a reply, she turned sharply and left the room.
But not long after, the door clicked open and Callum stepped inside, his expression grim. "The Harlan issue is nearing resolution, sir, but it’s been a critical situation. Their last move almost cost us a major contract."
Eryx sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "Hmm..." He said no more, turning his chair to look out at the city skyline through the glass wall of the top floor.
Callum cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Sir, do you want to head home soon? You haven’t had much time to rest lately."
Eryx didn’t answer right away, still staring out at the city lights.
Callum shifted awkwardly before continuing, "Also, I settled Miss Seraphine’s bill earlier, as you asked. She mentioned she was sorry for disturbing your meeting with the client. Said she didn’t notice anyone else around at that time."
Eryx closed his eyes, exhaling slowly. After a few seconds, he stood up and straightened his suit.
"I’m going home," he said quietly. "Update me the moment the final agreement is drafted. I want everything ready for signing."
Callum gave a short nod. "Yes, sir."

By the time the car pulled up in front of the villa, the sun was beginning to dip low on the horizon.
Eryx stepped out in silence, the weight of everything he hadn’t said pressing heavy on his shoulders. He stood there for a moment, just staring at the door, hesitating if he should knock on the door or not.
But as he peeked inside, he noticed the house seemed empty, cloaked in darkness. The sky was already fading into twilight; if Lunara were home, she would’ve turned on the lights. But not a single one was on.
Eryx knocked. Once.
Twice.
Still no answer.
He tried the doorbell.
Nothing.
Until the sky completely dark, shadows stretching long across the quiet villa. The porch light remained off. Eryx stayed there, leaning against the railing, watching as the last traces of daylight vanished into night. He didn’t want to leave as worries started to creep in.
Eventually, he reached into his coat pocket, pulled out his phone, and dialed.
Naomi answered after two rings. "Wrong number."
Eryx closed his eyes briefly. "Where’s Lunara?"
A pause. Then her voice, sharper this time. "How would I know? Maybe she flew to Singapore to recover from her broken heart."
"Stop talking nonsense," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. "She’s not home."
"Well, maybe that’s because she was tired of sitting in the dark alone, wondering if her husband remembered she existed."
Eryx said nothing.
Naomi exhaled sharply. "She said she wasn’t feeling well. I offered to take her home, but she insisted on being alone. Took a taxi. That’s all I know."
There was a beat of silence before she added, "And Eryx... if she is missing, that’s on you."
