Chapter 245: Return To Marica City

(Karsten)

It didn’t take much time for the fake passports to be prepared.

I asked Roshra to travel with me to reduce the chances of getting caught and my sister didn’t hesitate to accompany me.

We changed our appearance, using wigs, tourist clothes and sunglasses. Roshra was an expert in make-up techniques and it didn’t take any convincing to make her accompany me.

We had decided to fly a commercial. Using my private jet was a risk since I knew the police would be in touch with the traffic control and as soon as my jet landed, they would apprehend me.

"Mrs Marique stays under close watch; she can’t use her phone until I get Arata. Once I give instructions, I want her whole family gone from Sparia. I don’t care where" I informed my men, giving them last instructions before leaving.

They diligently nodded.

I turned to Ma and Rahsir while adjusting my cuffs.

"You are in charge in my absence. I believe in you to make the right decisions. Just call me if there is anything." I told my brother, never having imagined he would step up like this. I guess the collective hatred we carried for our father was a catalyst.

"Go save her, I will handle the matters here in your absence." Rahsir thumped my chest with determination shining in his eyes.

"I will appreciate that," I responded with an appreciative nod.

Ma stepped forward and silently hugged me. Her fallen face said it all. She was worried, extremely worried.

"I wish you would tell me something but I trust you. Don’t get caught or killed," she whimpered in my chest. My arms crossed around her, hugging her back.

"The only person dying will be the one standing between me and her." I kissed the top of her head and let her go.

Ma held my face for a while as if memorising it before letting me go.

Roshra said her goodbyes and both of us walked out and settled in the car. My men had already left for Marica City. They had taken their positions and were waiting for me with all the required gear.

A brown wig with curly hair rested on my head while blue lenses decorated my eyes.

I was Mr Enrique Hazia, visiting Marica on a business trip. Roshra was acting as my secretary. Our entries had already been made into the system, so it wouldn’t be a problem when the security will cross-check.

We arrived at the airport and passed through the checking without any hesitation. Soon we had settled in our seats.

The watch Arata had given me sat neatly on my wrist, and I couldn’t help but stare at it. How excited she had been, glowing like a phoenix when she had gifted that to me.

And then I had snatched that smile of hers and now I wasn’t even sure what condition she was in.

The quote appeared on my watch’s screen indicating I was angry.

{Anger is just a sign that you care deeply about something. Use it as a fuel for positive change.}

Of course, I was going to. The people who had hurt her will never roam freely, that’s the change I was going to bring.

Turning my head I stared out the plane window.

My heart bled at the thought of the condition I was going to find her in. Only if I could turn into a damn bird and just fly there and rescue her.

My heart wouldn’t rest, it wanted to spring out of my chest.

My hand fisted and desperate eyes travelled down to the crimson phoenix tattoo I had gotten on the back of my hand.

With wings widespread, the legendary bird was ready to fly. This was to remind myself and ensure no one would ever clip her wings again.

The tattoo was special...

No one but me and the tattoo artist knew that we had grounded part of her vermilion locks and mixed them with the ink.

She was a permanent part of me now, and once I got that fucker Ranold, this hand with her tattoo on will be the one punching the life out of him.

I planned and pictured the details in my brain.

Sensing me so tense and lost in my train of thought, Roshra squeezed my arm. Her worried eyes lingered on my face.

"You are going to find her and bring her back. Stop blaming yourself so much. It’s life, shit happens," she paused and then said. "Mine was cheating on me with an actress. So I sent all his shit to his new girlfriend and all the news media outlets, including his junk," she said casually and shrugged her shoulders while twisting her hands.

I had to do a double take on her. Roshra could be brutal; she had similar traits to me, and I was proud of her.

"Let me know when you need his legs broken. How dare he cheat on my sister." I wrapped my brotherly arm around her shoulder and she leaned into my touch and quietly said.

"We will discuss it further once Arata is safe."

I gave her a stiff nod.

They say what goes around comes around.

I broke Arata’s heart and someone did the same to my sister. Although I didn’t cheat on Arata, I did break her trust so many times.

And now there was going to be no peace for me.

The kind of life I had chosen. The kind of decisions I had made.

It was entirely my fault, Arata ended up getting kidnapped.

No amount of pain and closure was going to erase that.

The announcement was finally made that we were about to land.

We put on fake smiles and left the plane. Showing our passports where needed we made our way to exit. Roshra appeared tensed beside me so I whispered.

"Relax! We are almost there."

Comfortably we made it out without any inconvenience. I guess they were looking for a man with black hair and black eyes, instead of brown hair and blue ones.

Calmly we exited the airport and settled on the car that had been arranged for me. Hades was there, he had been assigned as my personal bodyguard.

He had worked with my uncle. The man was built like a rock and had a face similar to a robot.

No emotions, only business.

"Welcome, Sir. To the hidden warehouse?" He asked, keeping the door open for Roshra and me. I offered a silent nod.

Although I preferred Olphi, I had told him to stay in the villa to avoid any suspicion. No one had to know I was back.

Caysir called, and I told him to return Ranold’s jeep and stay closer to his bungalow.

"Keep an eye on who goes in and out and find out where cameras are. We will join you soon."

I wanted to stay one step ahead of Ranold and get to him before he knew what had hit him.

After ending the call with Caysir, I called Arata’s father from the car. It was a risk, but I knew if anyone would listen to me, it was him.

I tried to explain and plead with the man but he refused to listen.

No one would, especially a father when a substantial amount of evidence had already piled against me.

So I used one last attempt.

"I didn’t know before but I am aware now that Ranold is Doran’s son. He has a motive to go against your daughter, I don’t. Just think about it. Why would I even want to hurt her?"

Silence prevailed on his end and I knew he must be thinking.

"For all I know, both of you are working together because of having shitty fathers. I am warning you again, Karsten. If I don’t find my daughter I will end your pathetic life."

I wanted to plead my case more but in anger, he ended my call.

I let out a frustrated sigh. This was going to be more difficult than I had anticipated.

"Once you get her, everyone will believe you. Just focus on rescuing her for now," Roshra advised as the car pulled into the parking area of my secret warehouse.

My sister was a voice of reason.

"Go and rest in the hotel, I will contact you once this is done." Hearing my words, she leaned closer and hugged me tight and whispered in a trembling voice.

"Be safe."

I placed a small kiss on the top of her head.

"I will."

Hades held the door open for me and I left the car.

"Take my sister to the hotel and keep her safe," I ordered the driver and he affirmed with a respectful nod.

Once the car was gone, I took confident steps and entered the warehouse.

My personal army had already gathered there, waiting for my command and instructions...all needed was the plan and rescue mission for my woman.
