Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Do you like the gift I sent you?
Qin Miaomiao laughed, hitting the nail on the head! Her younger sister loved to act like a White Lotus in front of men, a tactic that never failed her—until it backfired in front of Lu Qing.
"Let’s go."
She said, linking her arm through Lu Qing’s and slowly walked out.
Qin Sishui gritted her teeth in hatred but could do nothing—after all, she had crossed paths with Lu Qing.
Once inside the car, Qin Miaomiao let go of his arm, but Lu Qing held her hand. He glanced sideways at her:
"What, done using me and now trying to draw the line?"
"No, my palms are sweaty, and I don’t want to stain your clothes."
Her palms were indeed sweaty. Lu Qing seemed amused and his expression softened as he took out a tissue to carefully wipe her hands.
Bit by bit, he cleaned the sweat from her palms.
His expression was incredibly focused, and the way he lowered his head made him look more handsome than ever.
Her hands were soft, like a piece of smooth jade. Lu Qing toyed with them in his grip, even the pink hue on her nails seemed to capture his heart.
He was almost like an infatuated man playing with her hand, so much so that he couldn’t resist the urge to kiss it. And he did—slowly bringing it toward his lips.
"Lu Qing?"
She suddenly spoke, her face turning bright red as she stared at him. Lu Qing finally snapped out of it; if he truly acted on his thoughts, she might see him as some sort of pervert.
"Hmm?"
"Where are we going now?"
"To attend a charity gala."
"Oh, but isn’t my outfit a bit inappropriate for the occasion?"
She was dressed in a black formal suit, looking quite serious—her attire was indeed unsuitable for an evening banquet.
Lu Qing chuckled nonchalantly: "It’s a minor issue. I’ll take care of it."
After thirty minutes in the car, they arrived at a styling studio. Standing outside were seven or eight people waiting, and the man leading them appeared somewhat familiar.
"Lanni, dress her up."
So it turned out to be the stylist who had worked on her look last time—a slightly effeminate man who was staring at Qin Miaomiao with excitement and said with a smile:
"No problem at all! Madam is naturally stunning; with just a bit of styling, she’ll outshine everyone!"
Hearing this, Qin Miaomiao couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh:
"You sure know how to talk."
The way she laughed was enchanting, even Lanni was momentarily mesmerized:
"Madam, your smile is breathtaking. Dimples like peaches, elegance with radiant charm—Madam’s beauty surpasses any celebrity."
Lu Qing’s face darkened at those words, his voice carrying an edge: "Just focus on dressing her up. Less of the nonsense."
Lanni immediately noticed his sour mood and knew that Lu Qing was jealous. He let out a couple of chuckles: "Madam is so beautiful. Tonight, I guarantee she’ll be styled to perfection, stealing the spotlight and making every man fall head over heels."
That last line was clearly aimed at Lu Qing. Lanni had never seen Lu Qing get possessive—when that happens, it would surely be entertaining.
Sure enough, Lu Qing’s brow furrowed. Two hours later, when Qin Miaomiao appeared before him, he froze.
A strapless evening gown in soft aqua blue hugged her figure, accentuating her curves. Her slightly curled hair was braided and swept to one side, giving her an ethereal fairy-like appearance. Her refined features were enhanced by light makeup, which gave her a pure yet slightly rebellious charm that danced within her gaze.
Lu Qing regained his composure and walked over to her, his hand reaching out to gently caress her collarbone.
Her collarbone?
"Beautiful, but it’s missing something."
"What?"
He pulled out a diamond necklace from his pocket, with a sapphire gleaming brightly in the center.
"This makes it even better."
She stared at her reflection in the mirror, the diamond necklace was unlike the one from last time. The sapphire was larger, shaped in a heart, and surrounded by smaller diamonds. She looked like a fairy who had accidentally wandered into the mortal world—so serene and magical.
"It’s for you. Do you like it?"
