Chapter 991: Chapter 991: Is This the Service Fee for My Service Last Night, President Qiao? Chapter 991: Chapter 991: Is This the Service Fee for My Service Last Night, President Qiao? The morning sun was just rising, and the pale golden light streamed through the glass, filling the entire bedroom.
Qiao Yin opened her eyes, gazing at the sunlight filling the room and at Lu Lingche beside her, and for a moment, she had the illusion that they had returned to the past, to those brief, peaceful and stable days of their marriage.
A warm kiss landed on her forehead, and she heard his voice, low and sensuous, ask, “Awake? Did you sleep well last night?”
Qiao Yin ignored him, wrapping herself in the quilt as she sat up, picked up the towel she’d thrown on the floor last night, and got out of bed, ensconced within it.
Last night’s folly, she regarded it merely as a dream; waking up, her rationality returned—Lu Lingche was like thin air.
She went to the restroom to wash up, minding her own business.
Lu Lingche felt her disregard, but he didn’t care, because her indifference was futile; he wouldn’t give up.
He got out of bed, went to the living room to get his and Qiao Yin’s clothes, and then went to the restroom to find her.
The moment Qiao Yin saw him, she was momentarily dazed, but quickly she looked away, “Can’t you put on a shirt?”
“I thought you liked my abs, so I purposely didn’t wear one.”
Qiao Yin’s face flushed red, she quickly rinsed her mouth, snatched the clothes from Lu Lingche’s hands, and then pushed him out the door.
With a loud “bang,” Lu Lingche was shut outside.
He looked down at himself, the corners of his mouth revealing a hint of a smile.
He decided to make his abs even more solid, so that next time when they played, she might like them a bit more.
He leisurely put on his trousers and then his shirt.
After getting dressed, he stood in front of the mirror to take a look.
Not bad, just needed to shave off the stubble, and he could kiss her.
He went to another bathroom, washed his face, brushed his teeth, shaved, and styled his short hair, and then he went back to wait outside Qiao Yin’s bathroom.
A moment later, the bathroom door opened, and as soon as Qiao Yin came out, he took her hand and led her toward the dining room, “Very pretty.”
Qiao Yin glanced at him, “Since when did President Lu learn to give compliments?”
“I wasn’t complimenting the person, I was talking about the clothes.”
Qiao Yin hesitated for a moment.
Seeing her pause, with an indescribable expression on her beautiful face, Lu Lingche couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m just teasing you, I was complimenting you, not the clothes.”
“It’s fine, President Lu has always been blind, I’m aware.”
“Am I blind? But I think you’re the most beautiful person in the world.”
“You don’t have to say things you don’t mean just to prove you’re not blind, President Lu. In your eyes, I’m nothing but a bug, aren’t I?”
“No, I think I’m the bug in your eyes, you’d probably love to squish me to death.”
“Good that President Lu is aware.”
Qiao Yin gave him a small smile, withdrew her hand, and sat down at the dining table.
The table was laid with a sumptuous breakfast, the food all giving off an enticing aroma, and beside it was a steaming pot of coffee, its unique fragrance slightly revitalizing Qiao Yin’s spirit.
She didn’t hurry to eat but took out her mobile phone from her bag and tapped on it a few times.
Lu Lingche picked up the coffee pot to pour her a cup, heard his own phone ring, and picked it up to look.
It was Qiao Yin finally accepting his WeChat friend request and transferring him ten thousand yuan.
After placing down the coffee pot, he sat down beside Qiao Yin and asked lightly, “Why are you transferring money to me? Is it for my services last night, President Qiao?”
Qiao Yin sipped her coffee, smiling, “Of course not, President Lu, you’re not worth that much! This is for your meal, we agreed last night that I would treat you to dinner, but you booked the restaurant and paid in advance, so I need to transfer it to you.”
Lu Lingche glanced at her, tapped her forehead gently, “Have I spoiled you too much? Daring to say I’m not worth anything. The meal wasn’t that expensive, you’ve given too much.”
“Consider the extra as a service fee then.”
