My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World
Chapter 78: You Must Return Alive

Chapter 78: You Must Return Alive

Feng Xiyan turned to the soldier and asked, "What happened?"

The soldier clasped his fists and reported, "Reporting to the Great General. We just received news from the soldiers patrolling the area around the city. They spotted 200,000 soldiers from the Yuezhi Tribe marching toward us. Their main target is the city’s west gate."

When Feng Xiyan heard this, a cold glint flickered in his eyes. He sneered and said, "It seems that Kaimu already knows that the river outside the west gate has water."

After that, he looked at the soldier and asked, "Who is guarding the west gate now?"

"Reporting to the Great General. It’s General Zhan who is guarding the west gate today."

Feng Xiyan thought for a moment, then said, "Relay my orders. General Ding will guard the south gate, General Fan will guard the north gate, and General Tan will guard the east gate. General Xue will bring his archer team to support General Zhan at the west gate."

"Yes, Great General!" The soldier accepted the order and hurried off to relay the orders.

After the soldier left, Feng Xiyan turned to the bronze mirror, clasped his fists, and bowed his head. Solemnly, he said, "Fairy Bai, the situation is urgent. Xiyan must leave now."

Bai Hanyun’s heart tightened when she heard his words. She had overheard the conversation between him and the soldier, so Bai Hanyun knew very well how dangerous the situation was.

Knowing how precious time was during wartime, she gripped the antique mirror tightly and said, "Feng Xiyan, you must return alive."

Feng Xiyan remained silent for a few seconds before replying, "Xiyan will do his best to come back alive."

On the battlefield, swords and arrows had no eyes. No matter how strong or skilled he was, Feng Xiyan couldn’t guarantee his survival, so he couldn’t give her any promise.

Grabbing one of the swords from the long metal box, he gave the bronze mirror one last look before walking out of the tent.

Seeing the tent’s door fall behind his back, Bai Hanyun anxiously paced around the empty warehouse.

After a while, she suddenly paused and said, "No, I can’t just wait and do nothing. Medicine is what’s lacking the most in war. I need to buy more, just in case this war takes a long time."

Making her decision, Bai Hanyun pulled out her phone and called Li Dagou. As soon as the call connected, she said, "Boss Li, do you still have medicine in stock?"

Li Dagou’s eyes lit up when he heard this. Bai Hanyun was his Goddess of Wealth. Whatever she needed, he would do his best to provide.

"Of course, Miss Bai. What kind of medicine do you need this time?" he asked.

Bai Hanyun could only recall the names of common medicines, so she said, "I need medicine for internal and external wounds, antibiotics, antipyretics, iodine, cotton swabs, surgical masks and gloves, and alcohol for wound cleaning."

When he heard this, Li Dagou asked, "Miss Bai, are you donating medicine to a war-affected area again?"

Bai Hanyun decided to go along with it and replied, "Yes. Boss Li, can you prioritize my order?"

"Sure. How much do you need, and when do you want the delivery?" Li Dagou asked while checking his stock on his laptop.

After thinking for a moment, Bai Hanyun replied, "Give me ten times the amount I ordered last time. Can you send it today?"

Stunned when he heard the amount she wanted, Li Dagou hesitated to answer. The amount she requested was too much for him to handle alone.

When she didn’t hear a response, Bai Hanyun asked, "Boss Li? Are you still there?"

Snapping out of his thoughts, Li Dagou replied, "Miss Bai, that’s a lot of medicine. It’s too much for me to handle on my own. Besides, medicine is a controlled product."

Bai Hanyun understands the hidden meaning of his words. She smiled and said, "Boss Li, money is not a problem."

Li Dagou’s eyes flickered for a second when he heard this.

’This might get me into trouble’, he thought. ’But the profit is too big to miss.’

After a long consideration, Li Dagou gritted his teeth and said, "Since Miss Bai has said so, I will take the risk."

Satisfied with his answer, Bai Hanyun added, "Boss Li, please send the medicine to my warehouse as soon as possible."

Li Dagou had made up his mind, so he confidently replied, "Leave it to me, Miss Bai. I will make sure the goods are delivered before noon."

"Thank you, Boss Li."

After ending the call, Bai Hanyun left the warehouse and locked it. As she waited for Hua Yuyu outside, Li Dagou began contacting his old connections.

Soon, one of his old friends picked up the call. "Old Li, it’s rare for you to call me this early."

Hearing the teasing tone, Li Dagou replied, "Old Han, I’ve got a big order. It’s just..."

Impatient with his hesitation, Old Han clicked his tongue and said, "If you’ve got something to say, just say it."

After a moment of thought, Li Dagou finally explained, "One of my big clients just ordered a huge quantity of medicine. You know how strictly medicine is regulated. I don’t have enough stock right now. I actually want to refuse, but the profit is too good to pass up."

Old Han narrowed his eyes and asked, "How much are we talking about?"

When Li Dagou told him the quantity and profit, Old Han nearly jumped out of his chair. "Are you crazy?! You actually accepted that kind of order?!"

He gritted his teeth and asked in a low voice, "Do you want to go to jail? Don’t you know what will happen to those who are caught selling medicine illegally? Old Li, you really—!"

Couldn’t finish his words, Old Han could only shake his head at his old friend’s courage.

Holding the phone a little further from his ear, Li Dagou said, "Just tell me. Do you want to join me or not?"
