Chapter 2110 – 2110 2110 Fate
Chapter 2110: Chapter 2110: Fate-defying Disease Chapter 2110: Chapter 2110: Fate-defying Disease Daphne Green remained silent, seemingly accustomed to such ridicule.
Ethan Smith was supporting Daphne. Looking at the cultivators, he coldly said, “You're just disappointed that Daphne can't cultivate as she used to. Why make up so many excuses?”
“What if we are? What if we aren't?” The group smirked.
Ethan Smith sneered, saying, “Do you know of the potential Daphne once had? Do you know her abilities once rivaled those of the ancient Saintess?”
“Hahaha!” The group burst into laughter as if they had heard the biggest joke in the world.
“Her? Talented?”
“Ethan Smith, you dare say such things? She is nothing more than a waste. You dare say she was on par with the ancient Saintess?”
Daphne tugged at Ethan Smith's arm and whispered, “Forget it.”
Ethan Smith ignored Daphne, he sneered and said, “You better open your eyes wide and watch. Soon, Daphne Green's name will be among the most prominent of the younger generation in the Holy Region!”
“I'll tell you now, the Green family will regret this!”
After hurling those words, Ethan Smith pulled Daphne and left.
The group left Green City and headed to a nearby town.
They found a restaurant to sit and rest for a while.
Seeing Ethan Smith, Daphne was naturally surprised and happy. She looked at Ethan Smith and asked, “Ethan, why did you come to Green City knowing that the Green family is looking for you?”
“Isn't it obvious? It's to find you,” Salena Carpenter said resentfully.
“Find me?” Daphne seemed slightly confused.
Ethan Smith mysteriously replied, “I have a surprise in store for you. As for what that is, don't ask, just eat.”
Daphne looked puzzled, but then looked at Ethan Smith; she understood Ethan Smith's nature. He must have his reasons for saying so.
So, she nodded her head and began to focus on eating.
Ethan Smith and Salena Carpenter stayed quiet at the dinner table, just eating their food.
After dinner, Ethan Smith, Daphne, and the others left the restaurant and walked on the city streets. Ethan Smith led them through the crowded throng of people, heading straight for the outskirts of the city.
Daphne couldn't help but ask, “Ethan, where are you taking me? Why are the Green family members looking for you?”
Ethan Smith responded with a mysterious smile, “You will know soon enough. The place we are heading will be a turning point in your life.”
Expectation and confusion overwhelmed Daphne. She believed that Ethan Smith must have a significant reason for making her leave Green City.
Without wasting time, Ethan Smith and Salena Carpenter returned to Quiet Wind City to Riley Lee's mansion again.
“Where are we?” Daphne asked curiously.
Ethan Smith didn't answer; he just took Daphne into the mansion.
The three of them quickly arrived at a room, finding Riley Lee.
“Senior,” Ethan Smith greeted with a slight bow as he entered the room.
Riley Lee was as usual, sitting there, slowly savoring his tea.
He glanced up at Ethan Smith and then quickly shifted his gaze to Daphne.
“Is she your friend?” Riley Lee asked.
Ethan Smith quickly nodded, leading Daphne to stand in front of Riley Lee.
“This is Riley Lee, the Vice President of the Alchemist Association,” Ethan Smith introduced.
Daphne was stunned upon hearing this; she was overwhelmed with excitement as she looked at Ethan Smith.
Daphne had wanted to find the Alchemist Association for a long time, but because of her circumstances, she didn't have the right or ability to reach them.
However, the Green family was unwilling to waste time on her, which consequently led to her inability to cultivate.
“Senior, Daphne is from the other end of the universe. During her arrival in the Holy Region, she contracted a strange illness that prevents her from cultivating,” Ethan Smith explained in detail as he sat opposite Riley Lee.
Riley Lee glanced at Daphne and then said, “She has got the Fate-defying Disease.”
Daphne's heart trembled when she heard the name of the disease. She had never heard of it before. “What is the Fate-defying Disease?” She asked.
Riley Lee sipped his tea and calmly explained, “The Fate-defying Disease is a rare condition. It's seen as extremely disadvantageous in Taoist cultivation. This disease causes the True Energy within the body to flow in the opposite direction, making it impossible to integrate smoothly with the power of heaven and earth, thereby losing the ability to cultivate.”
Daphne listened intently, her heart filled with complex emotions. She had already adjusted to the fact that she couldn't cultivate, but now hearing the name, she was more aware of her predicament.
“Why did I contract this disease?” Daphne asked with a hint of bewilderment and frustration.
Riley Lee furrowed his brow, giving Daphne a piercing look. He explained with a hint of seriousness, “The Fate-defying Disease is not a common condition. It's typically triggered by the invasion of powerful negative energy. This negative energy usually originates from certain powerful, evil entities or ancient taboos.”
Daphne felt an icy chill creeping up her spine as she thought of the mysterious rune she had encountered and the unfathomable darkness it emitted.
Before Daphne could speak, Ethan Smith immediately asked, “What can we do about it? President Lee, do you have a solution?”
“Tsk, tsk. You seem more eager than her,” Salena Carpenter remarked with a hint of sourness.
President Lee sipped his tea and then calmly declared, “In the Holy Region, there is no disease that the Alchemist Association cannot cure.”
Upon hearing these words, Ethan Smith and Daphne were overjoyed!
“Return to the Alchemist Association with me tomorrow,” Riley Lee suggested.
Almost simultaneously, Ethan Smith and Salena Carpenter exclaimed, “Thank you, President Lee!”
Riley Lee nodded slightly. He then turned to Daphne and seriously informed her, “However, Daphne, you must understand that the Fate-defying Disease is not easily curable. Although the Alchemist Association has certain methods and resources, the chances of success are not high. You must mentally prepare yourself.”
Daphne listened to Riley Lee's warning. She bit her lip and nodded firmly, indicating that she was prepared.
Afterwards, Ethan Smith said his goodbyes to Riley Lee and prepared to leave.
“Ethan Smith, do you really not intend to join the Alchemist Association?” Riley Lee suddenly asked.
Ethan Smith managed a bitter smile, “Thank you, President Lee, for your kind intentions. If there's a chance in the future, I will not disappoint your expectations.”
Seeing Ethan Smith's adamant stance, Riley Lee didn't say anything more but just nodded.
Upon leaving the mansion, Ethan and the others found a place to stay.
In the inn, Daphne's eyes were filled with mixed emotions. She looked at Ethan Smith and opened her mouth as if wanting to say something. However, after struggling for a while, she ultimately just ended up saying, “Thank you.”
