Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1925
Chapter 1925: Chapter 1925: One Finger Chapter 1925: Chapter 1925: One Finger “Who the hell are you, daring to meddle in the affairs of the Dixon family? Are you seeking death?!” yelled the burly man, charging towards Ethan Smith once more.
His face turning cold, Ethan suddenly stepped forward, sending a kick directly to the man's lower abdomen.
A scream rang out as the burly man clutched his abdomen in pain, gnashing his teeth and grimacing.
As he tried to mobilize the spiritual power within his body, he discovered that it had already dissipated!
“You… you actually destroyed my cultivation!” the burly man's face was incredibly pale.
Ethan coldly responded, “If you don't leave now, not a single one of you will survive!”
Seeing Ethan's formidable strength, the burly man dared not confront him head-on. He threw out a harsh threat before hurriedly getting up and fleeing the scene.
After they left, the miners cupped their hands towards Ethan and said, “Thank you for your righteous intervention!”
Ethan waved his hand and said, “Take your things and leave quickly.”
“What about you, brother?” asked a cultivator.
Ethan shook his head, “I still have unfinished business here.”
“Brother, you should come with us. Otherwise, the Dixon family will never let you off the hook.”
“Yeah, the Dixon family is powerful in Serene South City and they're not to be trifled with.”
Ethan frowned, “I'll be fine, just hurry and leave.”
“Brother, I'd like to stay behind and help you face them together!” said the injured young cultivator, stepping forward.
“Me too!” another cultivator stepped up as well.
Ethan opened his mouth, feeling quite helpless.
He originally didn't want to stir up any trouble, but it seemed like it was unavoidable now.
He knew that this group of people would definitely not leave, so he didn't say anything more and just nodded his agreement.
Afterward, Ethan narrowed his eyes as he searched for the location of the hidden treasure according to his memories.
This was an extrapolation process. Although it wasn't the same as a dao technique, it could be repeated countless times in his mind to ensure that nothing unexpected would happen.
It had to be said that the path laid out by Ethan's father was extremely considerate.
As for the others, they couldn't relax like Ethan could.
Even though they were willing to stay and accompany Ethan, the longer they stayed, the more anxious they felt deep down.
Facing the Dixon family, which was like a formidable behemoth, they couldn't help but be afraid.
Ethan slowly opened his eyes, looking at the uneasy group before him, and quietly said, “If you're scared, you can leave now. I can handle this by myself.”
“No, we won't leave…” said the injured young cultivator.
After speaking, the young cultivator spat out a mouthful of blood, and his face instantly turned pale.
Ethan's brow furrowed slightly. Being a soft-hearted person, he couldn't help but sigh slightly.
He got up and gave the young cultivator a Pill, temporarily alleviating his injuries.
“Thank you, my lord. If there's ever a chance in the future, I'll be sure to repay your kindness!” the young cultivator cupped his hands in thanks.
Ethan didn't make a sound. Although the young man was passionate, his talent wasn't particularly high, and his potential wouldn't amount to much in the end.
He sat there, feeling somewhat melancholic.
The path of cultivation was a cruel one, but Ethan's heart was always filled with concern for others.
Perhaps it was because he had come from humble beginnings and could relate more easily to the struggles of ordinary people, understanding the hardships of their lives.
All these factors made Ethan occasionally intervene on behalf of others, attracting trouble in the process.
As Ethan was deep in thought, several presences approached from the distance.
Without making a sound, Ethan quietly closed his eyes.
Soon, more than ten people arrived at a mine.
This group's demeanor was impressive, and their strength was quite significant. The strongest among them was at the middle stage of Reversion Void, even surpassing Ethan.
“Who has dared to harm the Dixon family?” said the middle-aged man at the forefront with a cold voice.
Ethan didn't even bother answering. He kept his eyes closed, appearing completely at ease.
“Who has hurt my Dixon family?!” The middle-aged man's voice boomed like thunder, shattering the eardrums of the surrounding people and causing blood to flow. Only Ethan remained undisturbed, sitting there as if nothing had happened.
The middle-aged man's gaze quickly fell upon Ethan.
He carefully examined Ethan Smith, seemingly probing into his energy.
After discerning Ethan's realm, the middle-aged man stepped forward and calmly said, “My friend, as far as I know, there has been no previous enmity between our Dixon family and you. Why have you committed such a vicious act?”
Ethan gave him a cold glance and scoffed, “You Dixon family oppress the weak with your strength, causing needless death and suffering. Yet now you claim that I am the vicious one? At least I have spared his life.”
The middle-aged man frowned. He found Ethan's eloquence unusual. For a moment, he didn't hurry to take action and instead asked with a smile, “May I ask your esteemed name, my friend, and where you come from?”
“No need to pry. I am just a rogue cultivator without any background,” said Ethan indifferently.
Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man still responded cautiously, “Judging from your demeanor, you don't seem like a rogue cultivator. My name is Aidan Dixon, the chief steward of the Dixon family. May I ask if you could honor us with a visit to our family residence?”
“I do not consort with those who oppress the poor. I wish to have nothing to do with you,” Ethan replied coldly.
Aidan Dixon's face darkened further. He looked at Ethan coldly and said, “Young man, don't be so insolent. Regardless of whether you are just a rogue cultivator or an aristocratic disciple, you've not only injured members of my family but also spewed such outrageous words. Did you really think that our Dixon family would be so easy to bully?”
Without wanting to continue wasting words with them, Ethan snapped, “Get lost!”
“You're courting death!” Aidan Dixon was utterly infuriated. He took a step forward, and countless techniques gathered around him. He then lashed out with a fierce palm strike!
This attack had the might of a tsunami, the sheer force causing the surrounding space to distort!
Ethan snorted and raised a finger. A ray of golden light flashed past, and with a 'bang,' his palm was instantly shattered!
Aidan Dixon's palm exploded into a mist of blood, and the residual force knocked him back. His energy instantly became chaotic, and fresh blood spurted out!
“How is this possible?!” Aidan Dixon's face changed drastically!
This kid was clearly only at the Returning Void Early Stage. How could he have such terrifying strength?
“No, he must not be a rogue cultivator!” Aidan Dixon's brain whirred as he put this information together. His brow furrowed, and a moment later, he waved his hand and ordered, “Retreat!”
The group turned around without any hesitation and left.
The onlookers gaped in disbelief at the sight of the powerful Dixon family actually leaving just like that!
“They won't be coming back. You all should get going,” Ethan said, closing his eyes again. Just moments ago, he had mapped out the route, so now it was time to investigate the secret treasure.
“Thank you, my lord!” The crowd seemed to realize that Ethan was no ordinary person, so they didn't linger and turned to leave.
