Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1906

Chapter 1906: Chapter 1906: The Threshold of the Taylor Family Chapter 1906: Chapter 1906: The Threshold of the Taylor Family “I hope Emily won't be repulsed by this ugly face,” Ethan Smith thought to himself.

Soon after, he left the room. Upon seeing his hideous face, the Williams Saintess wasn't surprised. In her eyes, it fit perfectly for his visit to the Taylor family, because it wouldn't attract too much attention and thus wouldn't give him away.

“Saintess, when are we leaving for the Taylor family?” Ethan Smith inquired.

The Williams Saintess answered with a smile, “I've already made arrangements for you. You can leave whenever you want. Once you reach the Taylor family, just say that I sent you.”

Upon hearing this, Ethan hurriedly expressed his thanks, “Thank you, Saintess. I'll depart now.”

“You're leaving so soon? Don't you want to wait for me to plant the seeds of the Bodhi ancient tree?” the Saintess asked.

Ethan shook his head, “There's no need.”

The Saintess smiled, “Okay, when you have time, you can often come to the Frostmoon Palace and look after the growth of the Bodhi ancient tree.”

Ethan opened his mouth to agree but then thought the invitation seemed strange, as if he was being asked to check on the growth of their child.

“Alright.” Ethan didn't say more. He bid goodbye to the Saintess and then left Frostmoon Palace.

Upon leaving Frostmoon Palace, Ethan planned to find a teleportation formation to take him to the Taylor family.

But as soon as he stepped outside of Frostmoon Palace, Ethan detected an anomaly.

Several incredibly powerful auras seemed to be lurking in the shadows.

The auras in question spanned dozens of star-miles, creating an extremely tense atmosphere that held a hint of killing intent.

Ethan's brows furrowed as he activated his desolate divine eye to survey his surroundings on instinct.

Sure enough, a few people were lurking in the shadows, each emitting such potent auras it was staggering. And at this moment, they were all looking coldly at Ethan.

Before Ethan even had time to doubt their identities, they emerged from the shadows like phantoms, materializing by his side.

The individuals obstructed Ethan's path, their imposing auras causing the surrounding space to contort!

A chill crossed Ethan's face. He was on the verge of questioning them when he remembered he couldn't reveal his identity, so he changed his demeanor and respectfully asked, “May I ask you, sirs, what's the matter?”

One of them coldly said, “Who are you from the Williams Family?”

Ethan thought quickly before responding, “I'm the family servant of the Williams Saintess.”

“A male servant of the Williams Saintess? According to my information, Frostmoon Palace does not have any males,” one of them retorted coldly.

A sense of danger seized Ethan. He quickly responded, “I was sent by the head of Williams family.”

“Oh? And when did you arrive?” they continued with the interrogation.

To prevent revealing himself, Ethan set his arrival date to few days ago, which was when they had just arrived at Frostmoon Palace.

Upon hearing this, the men did not show any suspicion. They pointed at Frostmoon Palace and asked, “And is Ethan Smith currently in Frostmoon Palace?”

Upon hearing this, Ethan's expression suddenly changed.

As he thought, these men were indeed after him!

“He… he's still inside,” Ethan lied.

Without saying another word, the men prepared to leave.

Ethan quickly stopped them, asking, “May I ask you, gentlemen, do you have any business with Ethan Smith? Should I notify him of your visit?”

“Don't ask questions that aren't your business. Get lost!” one of them fiercely scolded.

Ethan wanted to ask more but they didn't give him the chance, disappearing quickly into the darkness.

“That's strange,” Ethan murmured to himself, “Ever since I arrived in the Central Province, it seems like I haven't offended anyone…”

Just then, it seemed like Ethan had a realization!

His pupils contracted as he murmured, “Could it be Nathan Taylor, or was it someone sent by Michael Wilson?”

Apart from those two, Ethan hadn't offended anyone else!

“Well, it doesn't matter. They won't be able to find me anyway,” Ethan thought to himself.

With that, Ethan decided not to waste any more time there and quickly left.

There was no denying the bustling prosperity of the Central Province, especially near the residences of influential figures, which was beyond imagination.

The atmosphere here was vibrant and chaotic, filled with rare and exotic treasures.

However, those who lived in the vicinity didn't seem particularly interested, as if they were already used to such things.

En route to the teleportation array, Ethan sensed several powerful auras, among them a few likely belonging to Semi-Saints.

Naturally, in such a bustling city, there was no lack of teleportation formations. Ethan quickly found one.

The fee for this teleportation formation wasn't too exorbitant, it only cost a hundred million magic coins.

Using this teleportation formation, Ethan set off for the Taylor family.

The Taylor family resided in a floating mountain range that appeared incredibly mysterious and illusory from afar.

Ethan's teleportation formation deposited him in a city below the Taylor family.

Looking up at that mythical Asgard floating amongst the clouds, he gave his foot a forceful push, intent on setting foot in the Taylor family's abode in one leap.

But what caught Ethan off guard was that he was unable to use his spiritual power to reach the Taylor family. Standing at this place, it felt as if all his powers were suppressed and he was no different from an ordinary person.

“Hmm?” Ethan furrowed his brow.

Looking up at the Taylor family that towered above him, Ethan found himself in a conundrum.

Without spiritual power, how was he supposed to get to the Taylor family?

Ethan randomly stopped a passerby and asked, “Excuse me, but why can't I use my spiritual power here?”

The man glanced at Ethan and explained, “We're near the Taylor family. Of course, you can't use spiritual power here. If people were allowed to use spiritual power anytime they wanted and cause a ruckus, wouldn't that interfere with the Taylor family's cultivation practices?”

“The Taylor family sure has a lot of quirks,” Ethan thought to himself indignantly.

Without missing a beat, he continued his query, “Then how do I get to the Taylor family?”

The cultivator pointed in a direction and advised, “There's a stone stairway over there. If you want to go, you can climb it yourself. But if I were you, I wouldn't. There are many people who want to enter the Taylor family, at least half of them die on those stone stairs.”

After listening to the cultivator's words, Ethan's impression of the Taylor family worsened.

“The Taylor family sure has a high threshold,” Ethan murmured internally.

Despite this, Ethan proceeded in the direction of the stone stairs.

After a short while, he stood before the start of an impressive stone stairway, seemingly made of jade.

The stairway stretched into the clouds. Looking up, he couldn't even see the end, just tier upon tier of white clouds.

“Does the Taylor family really see themselves as a fairy palace?” Ethan asked himself, brows furrowed.

Looking at the stairway, Ethan could see many cultivators climbing it, one after another, seemingly tireless. This path seemed to be their only chance at changing their destiny.

The stone stairs were translucent, immaculately clean. One could only wonder how much blood must have been shed here and how many specters still lingered.

With a deep breath, Ethan, though disgruntled about the Taylor family, set foot on the stairway.
