Chapter 1898
Chapter 1898: Chapter 1898: Williams Saintess Follows_1 Chapter 1898: Chapter 1898: Williams Saintess Follows_1 Facing the ridicule of the crowd, Ethan Smith didn't get angry.
He glanced at everyone and said solemnly, “Of course, you can choose not to believe me, but I can responsibly tell you that these two Masters of the Divine Path don't have much confidence in their own predictions.”
At this point, Ethan Smith looked at the two Heavenly Wayfinders and slowly said, “Am I right?”
A twinge of unease flashed across the faces of the two of them, just as Ethan had said, they didn't have much confidence in their current choice of paths.
But under these circumstances, even if they truly lacked confidence, they absolutely wouldn't admit it.
“Nonsense, utter nonsense. Our predictions on the Path of Heaven are not something a small fry like you can fathom!” one of the Masters of the Divine Path snapped.
“Hehe, Williams Saintess, gentlemen, do any of you believe his words?” the other Master of the Divine Path followed up.
Nathan Taylor looked annoyed, and said coldly, “Don't waste time on him, let's move.”
Having said that, Nathan Taylor signaled the two Masters of the Divine Path to lead the way.
Michael Wilson lightly commented, “Like a clown trying to draw attention, it just makes us all laugh our heads off.”
Seeing that the group was about to step onto the wrong path, Ethan Smith knew that he couldn't stop them.
Just then, he suddenly stopped Williams Saintess in her tracks.
Williams Saintess's beautiful eyes flashed with surprise, and she looked at Ethan Smith, asking, “What is it, Mr. Smith?”
Ethan Smith said coldly, “Please trust me this time, Saintess Williams.”
Williams Saintess's beautiful eyes lingered, filling with confusion.
She laughed and asked, “Why should I believe you? What makes you worth believing?”
Ethan Smith understood, of course, that there was no chance his words alone could convince Williams Saintess.
But Williams Saintess was a relatively upright person, much better than Nathan Taylor and Michael Wilson of the Wilson family.
Ethan Smith thought for a moment and continued, “Saintess Williams, do you know Evan Williams?”
“Evan Williams?” Williams Saintess looked slightly surprised but nodded and said, “He's a member of the Williams family. What about it?”
Ethan Smith was about to speak when he recalled what Evan Williams had said.
Although Evan was a member of the Williams family, he didn't hold a high position there, and naturally couldn't be compared to the heavenly daughter Williams Saintess. Bringing him up might not carry enough weight.
“Never mind.” Ethan Smith waved his hand at this thought.
Williams Saintess laughed but said nothing. She continued heading down the path without any more words.
Just then, Ethan Smith suddenly thought of a man – the man with the mustache!
“Damn, I'm really sorry, I can only sell you out now.” Ethan Smith gritted his teeth.
With that, he once again blocked Williams Saintess's way.
“Mr. Smith, please don't waste too much of my time.” Williams Saintess spoke with an undertone of displeasure.
Ethan Smith gritted his teeth and whispered, “I don't know if Saintess Williams has ever heard of someone… I don't know his name, but I know he has a mustache and a terrible reputation in the Holy Region…”
When Williams Saintess heard the mention of the man with the mustache, a hint of peculiarity flashed across her face. Normally open and easygoing, her expression at this moment was extremely wonderful.
She looked somewhat coy, her face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes filled with a hint of anger. Eventually, all her expressions disappeared, replaced by a trace of coldness.
Williams Saintess stared at Ethan Smith with a faint murderous intent, her voice cold, “What, are you his friend? Where is he now?”
Seeing Williams Saintess's changing expression, Ethan Smith secretly thought it was a bad sign!
Damn it, what had the man with the mustache done to make Williams Saintess so angry!
Ethan Smith hastily explained, “No, no, no, I'm not friends with him, otherwise how could I not even know his name…”
But Williams Saintess coldly said, “The man with the mustache is the nickname he gave himself.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan Smith panicked even more, and quickly explained, “I really don't know him well. I just happened to hear him mention the sanctum once…”
Williams Saintess's face grew colder, and her entire body radiated a murderous spirit.
Were it not for the fact that they were currently deep within the sanctum, Williams Saintess might have already taken action.
She took a deep breath, her chest trembling slightly.
A moment later, Williams Saintess coldly said, “If you ever have the chance to meet him, remember to pass on a message for me: if I ever find him, I'll tear him to pieces!”
After leaving this sentence, Williams Saintess turned and walked away.
“Wait!”
At this moment, Ethan Smith called out to Williams Saintess once more.
Williams Saintess forcibly held back her anger and said, “Before I change my mind, you'd best disappear from my sight.”
Ethan Smith didn't panic; he laughed and said, “This man with the mustache might not be a good guy, but I think his skills should be beyond question. I'm afraid his predictions of the Path of Heaven would be above those of the two Masters of the Divine Path, right?”
“You should also know that he wouldn't miss a chance at this kind of event. He didn't come because he was afraid of being punished by you, so he asked me to cooperate and bring the outcome of his prediction here to snatch the treasures of the sanctum.”
After hearing Ethan Smith's words, Williams Saintess was silent for a moment, apparently affected by his words.
Taking advantage of the situation, Ethan Smith continued, “I just feel that you've shielded me several times, and I don't want to owe you any favors.”
He paused and then continued, “Moreover, even if you want to follow them now, I'm afraid it's already too late.”
As expected, Nathan Taylor and the others had completely vanished.
Williams Saintess's face was clouded with indecision. After a moment, she said coldly, “If you dare deceive me, I will never let you off.”
“Don't worry, lying to you would mean nothing to me,” Ethan Smith laughed.
With that said, he made a gesture for her to proceed.
He spread his hands and immediately stepped onto the other path.
The two of them walked carefully along the path, with Ethan Smith relying on the map in his mind to guide Williams Saintess around all the killing formations.
After a long journey, the darkness began to slowly fade, and the thick murderous spirit dissipated at this moment.
The sky cleared, everything seemed brighter, and the uneven killing formation gradually disappeared.
Ethan Smith breathed a sigh of relief, turned to Williams Saintess, and smiled, “Saintess Williams, how about it, I didn't lie to you, did I?”
“It's still too early to tell.” Williams Saintess replied quietly.
Ethan Smith didn't say any more, and followed the directions on the map, knowing that there were no more risks ahead, and the journey would be smooth sailing.
“What would happen if we'd taken the wrong path?” At this moment, Williams Saintess suddenly asked.
Ethan Smith was silent for a moment, then said, “It all depends on their abilities, but in any case… it'll be full of danger.”
Hearing this, a hint of worry flashed across Williams Saintess's face.
