Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1772
Chapter 1772: Chapter 1772: Journey with Salena Carpenter Chapter 1772: Chapter 1772: Journey with Salena Carpenter At this point, Ethan Smith had no time to further consider the mystery of Satan's sect.
Every step taken correctly today meant a chance for tomorrow.
Tabitha didn't stay for long and hastily took her leave.
Not far away, Kayla and Bailey hurriedly approached.
Seeing Ethan Smith deep in thought, they didn't know what to say.
“Having second thoughts?” asked Kayla.
Ethan Smith shook his head and replied, “No regrets at all. Every action requires careful consideration. I can't claim that today's decisions were absolutely right, but they were definitely correct at that moment.”
Upon hearing this, Kayla chuckled and said, “That's good. Don't you forget about your promise to me.”
“Ah, don't worry about that.” Ethan Smith nodded.
Soon after, Ethan Smith left the place and returned to the Grandeous Mountain.
As for how to absorb someone else's primordial spirit, Ethan Smith had no idea whatsoever.
He spent the next few days in a state of perplexity and helplessness.
Salena Carpenter once again started her solitary cultivation, which was quite peculiar – she would eat and drink voraciously, then waited for her cultivation level to rise naturally.
As for Randall Freeman, despite wanting to keep Ethan company, he realized his ability to help was rapidly deteriorating.
After much deliberation, Ethan decided to pay a visit to the Cloud Sect.
On the Cultivation Mountain.
Ethan Smith stood behind Forrest Middleton and half-heartedly suggested, “Want to guess why I'm here?”
With his back to Ethan, Forrest said in a deep voice, “I presume it has something to do with your primordial spirit.”
“Indeed.” Ethan didn't hide anything.
He immediately shared his recent encounters, including everything about the Satan sect, with Forrest.
“Have you ever heard of the Satan organization?” Ethan asked.
Forrest shook his head to show he hadn't.
Ethan sighed inwardly.
If even Forrest had no idea about it, this organization was truly elusive and frightening.
“Are you struggling to make a decision?” Forrest enquired.
Ethan sighed and admitted, “Yes, the idea of absorbing another person's primordial spirit weighs heavily on me.”
“Sigh, you people always judge yourselves by morals, isn't it?” Forrest lamented.
“Why do you insist on trying to please everyone? No one's perfect.”
Ethan remained silent. Being a modern man, he knew such self-righteousness was wrong.
But for him, senseless killing was an absolute impossibility.
“Go to the Thunder Courtyard.” Forrest suddenly suggested.
Ethan was startled. He had heard about the Thunder Courtyard.
It's said to be the most unique place in the Rayleigh Province.
The region was filled with the very best of the Rayleigh Province, and any young person with talent was said to head there.
Truth be told, Ethan did admire the Thunder Courtyard, even though he was unfamiliar with it.
“Over the years, most visitors to the Thunder Courtyard have been from the East state. Perhaps it's time you made a visit there yourself,” suggested Forrest.
Foreseeing Ethan's confusion, he lightly chuckled and said, “Indeed, the Thunder Courtyard is as mystical as you imagine, albeit not as fearsome. In its early days, they did attract a lot of young blood. However, their demands were extremely high.”
Ethan asked in a deep voice, “How high?”
After a moment's thought, Forrest revealed, “Eternal once tried to get in and was turned away.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan gasped!
Eternal was turned away? He was one of the 'three lunatics, three extremes'. Although his character wasn't the best, his talent was undoubtedly top-notch!
“Of course, things are never absolute. They do send out invitations too. For instance, both Ken Middleton and I once received their invitations,” Forrest quickly added.
Ethan couldn't help but smile wryly. Of course, as long as you were capable enough, all doors would open to you.
“It's no exaggeration to say that the only place in the entire Rayleigh Province that is worth mentioning is the Thunder Courtyard. Many cultivators in the province aspire to go there,” declared Forrest.
“Furthermore, there's the biggest advantage for you in going to the Thunder Courtyard…”
Ethan was taken aback and asked immediately, “What advantage?”
“The Thunder Courtyard has a special organization, the Devil Hunter. Their method of cultivation is very simple – they slay evil-doers,” explained Forrest.
“I presume you wouldn't feel any particular moral pressure about that.”
Forrest's words struck a chord with Ethan.
But he quickly shook his head.
He said with a bitter smile, “Given my current state, the Thunder Courtyard probably wouldn't take me in.”
“Not necessarily. Given your fame in Southern Province, the Thunder Courtyard would definitely take you. However, becoming a Devil Hunter might be a bit of a stretch,” countered Forrest.
Ethan sighed softly.
If it were Ethan at his prime, becoming a Devil Hunter would definitely be a piece of cake.
But in his present state, even using spiritual power was a struggle, let alone fighting against others.
“I happen to have a bit of a rapport with the dean of the Thunder Courtyard. If you wish to go, I can put in a good word for you,” Forrest suddenly offered.
After a moment of contemplation, Ethan finally nodded in agreement, “Alright, I'll go.”
Forrest merely grunted in response, “Then get ready. We shall leave in three days.”
“Thank you.” Ethan showed his gratitude with a slight bow to Forrest.
Indeed, the Thunder Courtyard possessed the best cultivation resources in the whole of Rayleigh Province. For those who wanted to rapidly enter the Reversion Void Stage, it was indeed the optimal choice.
According to Kayla and Tabitha, the more primordial spirits he absorbed, the faster he would recover.
Once he'd absorbed enough primordial spirits, Ethan would quickly return to his peak state.
Of course, Ethan wasn't planning on staying at the Thunder Courtyard for too long. The academic-style cultivation there didn't suit him.
Upon his return to Grandeous Mountain, Ethan shared the news with everyone.
Upon hearing that Ethan was going to the Thunder Courtyard, Randall and the others were quite supportive.
Only Salena, who was immersed in feasting, hastily ran over.
Furrowing her brows, she asked, “Given your current state, what if you end up being bullied at the Thunder Courtyard?”
“Bullied? Who would dare to bully me?” Ethan chuckled.
Salena shook her head repeatedly saying, “You don't understand. The Thunder Courtyard is where all the chosen ones of Rayleigh Province gather. It has always operated on the rule of the jungle. Considering your current state, you might face discrimination.”
Salena had a point, but Ethan didn't seem to have any other options at the moment.
It's not as though he could simply go out to the streets and murder people randomly. That wouldn't enhance his abilities at all.
“Alright then, I'll go with you,” Salena finally said.
“And I promise to protect you,” Salena affirmed, clenching her tiny fists.
Ethan opened his mouth to respond, but Randall from the side began nodding, “Miss Salena has a point. Her presence would definitely put us at ease.”
