Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1692
Chapter 1692: Chapter 1692: Ancient Underworld Chapter 1692: Chapter 1692: Ancient Underworld This was not just a grand event for the Cloud Sect, but a celebration for the entire Southern Province as well.
Everyone was raising their glasses in shared joy, for they saw a glimmer of hope in resisting the North Plain.
Meanwhile, Ethan Smith wandered aimlessly down the bustling streets.
His mind was consumed by the clash between Forrest Middleton and Vince Brown, replaying the epic battle over and over.
Even now, there were still cultivation breakthroughs occurring, with flashes of brilliance erupting in the sky. Amid these explosions were seasoned cultivators stepping into the Reversion Void Stage.
But for Ethan, these scenes had long since lost their luster.
According to Forrest Middleton, the arrival of this Great Era had altered the cosmic rules of Heaven and Earth. The immense Fate Energy now permeating the world made achieving spiritual enlightenment significantly easier, allowing more people to grasp the opportunity to break through.
Ethan wasn't discouraged by this, but the more he thought about it, the more baffled he became. *What were these cosmic rules? Who set the boundaries of this so-called Great Era?*
“Sigh.” Ethan let out a soft sigh.
As he gazed toward the distant horizon, where a vision shimmered faintly in the misty sky, a sense of disorientation overtook him. *What was he supposed to do next?*
The arrival of the Great Era was never confined to one region–it signified a complete transformation of the cosmic rules across the universe.
This thought brought to Ethan's mind a troubling question.
*Was Earth also experiencing a revival of spiritual energy? And if that were true, could the secrets of the underwater world still remain hidden?*
The more Ethan pondered, the more his curiosity was piqued, though he realized that, for now, returning to Earth was a distant possibility.
North Plain.
With icy winds sweeping across the land, every cultivator could sense the dramatic changes happening within the region.
Even the frigid gales seemed to carry faint traces of spiritual energy.
Some observant individuals had already noticed this and gone into seclusion for cultivation, now standing at the brink of breakthrough.
One such person was none other than Simon Ingram, one of the Godly Kings of the North Plain.
Sitting cross-legged in meditation, Simon Ingram exuded focus as the sky above rapidly began to manifest a terrifying vision!
The vision drew everyone's attention, including figures like Eternal and Dudley Lynch!
“This is a sign of someone stepping into the Reversion Void Stage,” Dudley Lynch murmured with narrowed eyes.
Beside him, Eternal frowned and said, “Don't tell me you're thinking of interfering.”
At this, Dudley let out a derisive laugh.
“Do you really think I'd stoop to such dishonorable tactics?” he said with a cold humph.
Eternal didn't respond but internally scoffed at him with contempt.
With his hands clasped behind him, Dudley said indifferently, “Simon Ingram means little to me. So what if he steps into the Reversion Void Stage?”
Eternal wasn't swayed by his bragging but couldn't hide a flicker of jealousy in his heart.
“Simon Ingram will likely be the first in the North Plain to reach the Reversion Void Stage,” Eternal muttered under his breath.
Dudley seemed to recall something and chuckled lightly. “You truly have foresight, Eternal.”
Eternal furrowed his brow and asked, “What's that supposed to mean?”
With a cold smile, Dudley said, “Had you stayed in the Southern Province, your so-called 'three extremes' would probably amount to nothing now.”
“From what I hear, many people in the Southern Province have already reached the Reversion Void Stage.”
“While they may not have rivaled your three extremes in the Mighty Realm, now that they've broken through into the Reversion Void Stage, what status do you three even hold?”
At these words, Eternal's pupils constricted sharply!
With an icy glare, he shot a cold glance at Dudley and said sternly, “Are you serious? Have people truly reached the Reversion Void Stage?”
“Indeed, one such figure apparently even went to challenge Forrest Middleton recently,” Dudley replied with a faint smile.
“Reversion Void? And they dared to trouble Forrest Middleton? Who was it? What was the outcome?” Eternal asked in a rush.
Clasping his hands behind his back, Dudley sighed with emotion and said, “Forrest Middleton truly is formidable. Even at the Mighty Realm, he managed to slay the challenger from the Reversion Void Stage.”
“I'm curious–what exactly gave you the confidence back then to dare scheme against someone like Forrest Middleton?”
After hearing Dudley's words, Eternal's face darkened drastically.
His body trembled slightly–whether from fear of Forrest Middleton's overwhelming strength or regret over his past arrogance was unclear.
“How is this possible…” Eternal gritted his teeth tightly, his eyes wide with rage!
Standing nearby, Dudley sneered sarcastically and said, “No matter, back then, I suffered numerous setbacks at the hands of Ethan Smith too. But so what? In the end, it will be me, Dudley Lynch, who survives to the last. And it will be me, Dudley Lynch, who triumphs on the righteous path!”
At this moment, Eternal wasn't even listening to Dudley's drivel. His mind was consumed with thoughts of going into immediate seclusion to cultivate.
Just then, the vision in the sky abruptly vanished.
A terrifying surge of energy rippled forth from the distance.
The sheer intensity of the energy was unlike anything Eternal had ever witnessed!
Under its overwhelming pressure, Eternal even felt a faint sense of self-doubt creeping into his heart!
“He's stepped into the Reversion Void Stage,” Dudley said from the side.
With a low murmur, Eternal said, “Is this the terrifying aura of the Reversion Void Stage… It seems I must retreat into seclusion as well…”
The Southern Province was vast and abundant. With the transformations brought about by the Great Upheaval, countless individuals rose to prominence.
The Southern Province appeared joyous and lively. Industries of every kind blossomed under the new era.
Walking along the streets, one could easily see many rare herbs and even Dharma Treasures on public display.
Numerous auction houses also thrived, holding auctions daily, where they had once been rare events conducted only every few months.
Ethan Smith passed by the entrance of one such auction house, his gaze drawn toward it unintentionally.
“Mr. Smith, why not step inside and try your luck?”
A young woman in a gauzy dress at the door said with a faintly ingratiating smile.
“Just the other day, we auctioned an unparalleled divine weapon, and today, we have treasures from the Central Province!” she continued enthusiastically.
Ethan, however, felt little interest and turned to leave.
At that moment, the young woman suddenly said, “Mr. Smith, you really should take a look. I hear there's an item connected to the ancient underworld up for auction today.”
“The ancient underworld?” Ethan halted, his brow furrowing deeply.
On Earth, he had heard countless tales about the mythical underworld.
Before his cultivation journey, Ethan naturally dismissed such stories as mere legends. Yet after everything he had experienced, those myths now seemed far less improbable.
He remembered vividly how, back on Earth, he had once forcibly saved Mike Taylor's life. At that time, Ethan had witnessed two black phantoms attempting to drag Mike's divine sense away.
And more recently, Forrest Middleton had enlisted his help in forcefully retrieving Ken Middleton's divine sense!
All of this made it impossible for Ethan to ignore these so-called myths and legends anymore!
“An item from the ancient underworld? How do you know it's connected to the ancient underworld?” Ethan asked with a skeptical frown.
The young woman giggled and said, “That's just what I've heard. Whether it's truly from the ancient underworld or not will depend on Mr. Smith's judgment.”
Studying her carefully, Ethan asked, “You're not trying to trick me, are you?”
Covering her mouth to stifle a laugh, she said, “Oh, Mr. Smith, how could I dare deceive you? Besides, quite a few mysterious figures have arrived today. Why not go inside and see for yourself?”
