Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1671

Chapter 1671: Chapter 1671: Entering the Dragon Burial Cave Chapter 1671: Chapter 1671: Entering the Dragon Burial Cave As those words fell, the atmosphere on Cultivation Mountain grew noticeably eerie.

“Forrest Middleton, I know you have some talent, and indeed, you're somewhat capable,” the man said casually.

“But that only applies to the Southern Province. When you consider the entire Holy Region, you're far from adequate.”

“If we wanted to kill you, there'd be no escape from death!”

Hearing this, Forrest Middleton's expression instantly turned even colder.

Suddenly, he extended his hand. His fingers, smooth as polished jade, clasped around the man's neck, lifting him into the air!

“Kill me? Do you truly have the capability?” Forrest Middleton's voice was as cold as frost, and at that moment, a dense fog enveloped the entire Cultivation Mountain.

The man struggled in Forrest Middleton's grip, but he couldn't break free no matter what.

Just as he was about to suffocate, Forrest Middleton slowly released him.

“Don't try to order me around,” Forrest Middleton said coldly.

The man coughed dryly for a few moments, then got to his feet and chuckled: “Interesting. You truly have some bite to you.”

“But let me warn you, if anything happens to Ethan Smith, the consequences are far beyond what you, Forrest Middleton, can bear!” After saying this, the man vanished once again into the Void, disappearing without a trace.

Forrest Middleton showed little reaction. He stood there, gazing into the distance, and no one could guess what he was thinking.*

Eastern Land.

This was a place steeped in legend, known once as the Land of Rising Dragons. But for reasons unknown, it later became desolate–a place so feared that its very name sent shivers through people.*

Ethan Smith and Justin Vasquez lay sprawled across this barren wasteland, not far from the Dragon Burial Cave.

“Do you think the fall of the Eastern Land might have something to do with the Dragon Burial Cave?” Ethan Smith wondered aloud, glancing at Justin Vasquez.

Justin Vasquez chuckled bitterly: “Who could possibly say for sure?”

Ethan Smith lay on the sand, tossing and turning restlessly, unable to fall asleep.

*Every time he shut his eyes, his mind filled with visions of the Dragon Burial Cave.*

“I really wish I could go in and take a look!” Ethan Smith suddenly sat upright.

Justin Vasquez, almost as though he had anticipated this, said, “If you want to go in, you can. But let me warn you, the level of danger in there is unimaginable. Once you're inside, whether you can come out again…” He didn't finish his sentence.

Ethan Smith sat cross-legged on the ground, brimming with excitement: “I actually have an idea. Let me know what you think of it.”

Justin Vasquez responded with a hum, patiently waiting for Ethan Smith to elaborate.

Ethan Smith explained, “Think about it–when my divine sense entered last time, it wasn't obliterated immediately. It only happened when it reached a certain point.”

“So, what if I maintain a safe distance? Wouldn't that mean I'm in no immediate danger?”

Justin Vasquez's mouth opened slightly, momentarily at a loss for words.

“You really are bold, aren't you? Who knows how many unpredictable dangers are lurking inside that Dragon Burial Cave.” Justin Vasquez laughed helplessly.

*Ethan Smith, however, was entirely consumed by the idea, utterly deaf to Justin Vasquez's warnings.*

“Alright, it's settled!” Ethan Smith clapped his hands with excitement.

With that, he turned to Justin Vasquez and said, “Tomorrow, you should head back. This place is too dangerous; better not follow me in.”

Justin Vasquez thought about it, then replied, “I promised you I'd stick by your side, and I intend to keep my word. Tomorrow morning, I'll accompany you into the Dragon Burial Cave.”

Ethan Smith, surprised, asked, “Aren't you afraid of dying in there?”

“If you're not afraid, why should I be?” Justin Vasquez replied.

“If anything does go wrong in there, it'll mean my bad luck and poor choice of decisions.”*

Ethan Smith, upon hearing this, solidly patted Justin Vasquez on the shoulder and said, “Thank you!”

The two said no more and immediately lay down to sleep.

Little did they know that as they slumbered, countless pairs of cold, watchful eyes were fixed upon them in the Eastern Land.*

North Plain.

During this period, Denton Horton had once again fallen into a deep slumber, leaving the entire North Plain in a state of utter calm.

All matters in the North Plain had been left under Simon Ingram's management.

Amid this frigid and desolate landscape, a shadowy figure stealthily searched for something.

The figure arrived at a snow cavern and slipped quietly inside.

Within the cavern lay many Dharma Treasures of the North Plain. It resembled a sky full of stars, glittering with dazzling light and exuding profound mystery.

Dudley Lynch looked at the brilliance before him and immediately stepped forward quickly.

He raised his hand, as though searching for something particular.

“So, you want the inheritance of the Immortal Slaying Sect too…”

A rasping voice echoed in his mind.

Dudley Lynch snorted coldly and answered, “Who wouldn't want the inheritance of the Immortal Slaying Sect?”

Ever since he had witnessed the battle between Denton Horton and Ethan Smith, Dudley Lynch's desire for the Immortal Slaying Sect's inheritance had skyrocketed.

Now that Denton Horton was asleep, this was the perfect opportunity for him.

Dudley Lynch rummaged frantically, as though determined to uncover the cavern's secrets.*

“The inheritance of the Immortal Slaying Sect… It's unlikely to be hidden in a place like this.” At that moment, the raspy voice in his mind spoke again.

Dudley Lynch froze briefly, then sneered: “Seems like you're not entirely useless. You have some fair insights. So, do you have any ideas on how to find the inheritance?”

“No.” The rasping voice responded.

Dudley Lynch snorted coldly and said, “Useless trash.”

With that remark, Dudley Lynch turned to leave.

Just then, Simon Ingram suddenly appeared in front of Dudley Lynch.

He stared coldly at Dudley Lynch and asked, “What are you doing here? Who permitted you to enter?”

With a cunning turn of his eyes, Dudley Lynch chuckled: “As the Godly King of the North Plain, don't I have the right to enter here?”

Simon Ingram narrowed his eyes but didn't answer the question directly. Instead, he said curtly, “Dudley Lynch, you'd better not harbor any wicked thoughts. Otherwise, the consequences will be very unpleasant.”

“Rest assured, Lord Simon. My loyalty to the Master is unwavering,” Dudley Lynch said, bowing slightly.

Simon Ingram snorted coldly and turned to leave.

At that moment, another figure arrived in the North Plain.

This individual hurried toward Simon Ingram.

She held a painting scroll with both hands and respectfully handed it to Simon Ingram.

“Lord Simon, this is the latest acquisition.” She knelt on the ground as she spoke.

Simon Ingram accepted the painting scroll, glanced at it, and asked: “Has this scroll absorbed its fill?”

“Yes,” she replied promptly.

Simon Ingram hummed in acknowledgment, then withdrew another scroll and handed it to her.

“Continue, and be cautious.” Simon Ingram instructed.

“Understood,” she said, taking the new scroll before turning to leave.

Dudley Lynch watched her retreating figure and couldn't help but chuckle coldly: “That person seems awfully familiar.”

Simon Ingram cast a glance at Dudley Lynch but didn't say a word.

The next day.

Ethan Smith and Justin Vasquez found themselves once again near the Dragon Burial Cave.

“One last time, I'll ask–are you sure about going in?” Dudley Lynch questioned them.

Ethan Smith nodded and said, “Stay close behind me. If anything unexpected happens, don't think twice–just run!”
