Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1666
Chapter 1666: Chapter 1666: Undoubtedly Doomed to Die! Chapter 1666: Chapter 1666: Undoubtedly Doomed to Die! Guinevere Lee, who was just about to leave, suddenly stopped in her tracks.
She remained silent, clearly somewhat nervous.
Ethan Smith walked up to Guinevere Lee, his eyes coldly gazing at her as he asked, “Why do I sense an odd smell emanating from you?”
Guinevere Lee hesitated slightly, asking nervously, “What… what smell?”
Ethan Smith's eyes narrowed slightly as he coldly said, “The smell of the North Plain.”
At his words, Guinevere Lee's body trembled violently!
However, she soon recovered and immediately turned around to shout, “Ethan Smith, I know you've never liked me, but there's no need to frame me like this! Are you going too far?!”
Justin Vasquez, who was standing nearby, stepped forward and said, “Just let her go; I can't stand seeing her anymore.”
Ethan Smith gave Justin Vasquez a glance and then coldly stared at Guinevere Lee, warning, “I advise you not to let me find out you have any connection with the North Plain, or else I will never let you off the hook.”
Guinevere Lee huffed coldly, not saying anything before she turned and left.
Once she was far away, Justin Vasquez asked in a serious tone, “Mr. Smith, do you really sense the aura of the North Plain on her?”
Ethan Smith shook his head and replied, “No, it was just a guess. Simon Ingram was nearby last time, so I'm not sure if she might have had any connection with him.”
“But didn't you kill Simon Ingram back then?” Justin inquired, puzzled.
Ethan coldly replied, “Don't forget who was responsible for revealing my cultivation breakthrough location.”
Justin didn't say anything else, but he seemed to feel a bit despondent.
Ethan Smith, on the other hand, understood Justin's feelings since they were quite familiar with each other.
“Enough about that; let's go for a drink,” said Justin Vasquez as he pulled Ethan Smith along.
The two of them sat down under the pavilion. The once bustling pavilion was now cold and deserted.
Ethan Smith casually asked, “I guess no one comes here anymore?”
Justin Vasquez bitterly laughed, “Under this situation, everyone is just trying to save themselves; no one has the leisure for this anymore.”
Ethan Smith nodded, indicating that he understood.
“Actually, you've really been making a name for yourself lately. Your fame is probably not far behind the three lunatics and the three extremes.” Justin half-jokingly said to Ethan Smith.
Ethan Smith sighed and replied, “Don't joke around about that kind of thing with me.”
“I'm not joking. That great war was truly terrifying,” Justin lamented.
Ethan Smith didn't continue on that topic. Instead, he looked at Justin and asked, “Justin, have you heard of the Eastern Land?”
“The Eastern Land?” Justin was momentarily stunned before replying, “I'm aware of it, but it seems that it's just a barren wasteland that no one has occupied for many years.”
Ethan Smith merely grunted in response. He fully trusted Justin, so he didn't hold anything back and told him everything that had happened.
After listening, Justin Vasquez asked in shock, “You mean… that place used to be where Tribulation Great Cultivators were born?”
Ethan nodded and said, “You could say that. Just in the Eastern Land alone, at least ten Tribulation Stage Great Cultivators have emerged.”
Justin Vasquez stroked his chin, muttering, “Now that you mention it, I suddenly remember that my father once went to the Eastern Land, but he didn't gain much from the journey…”
“Your father went to the Eastern Land as well?” Ethan Smith asked in surprise.
Justin Vasquez nodded and said, “It seems like the leader of the Cloud Sect told my father about it. Additionally… I once suspected that he was using the situation to try and get rid of my father.”
“Ethan Smith, aren't you afraid he's trying to deceive you and send you to your death?” Justin asked, his voice serious.
“That wouldn't be possible.” Ethan shook his head.
“With his capabilities, if he wanted to kill me, he wouldn't need to make such a huge effort. Moreover, I've read what's recorded in that book.”
Justin Vasquez bitterly smiled, “Have you ever thought that the book might have also been fabricated by him, and that everything he told you, he was responsible for?”
“Besides, wouldn't it be best for him not to personally kill you? Who knows if he's afraid of any powerful background you might have? People can be insidious.”
After Justin Vasquez's words, Ethan Smith couldn't help but feel a bit unsure.
However, he remembered what Forrest Middleton had said, no matter how he looked at it, it didn't seem like a lie.
“I've decided to give it a try,” said Ethan Smith after much thought.
Justin Vasquez pondered for a moment before saying, “Alright then, I'll go with you.”
“Are you serious? But didn't you suspect him…” Ethan Smith was taken aback.
“I only have my suspicions. Besides, my father went there once, and I wanted to walk the path he once took.” Justin explained.
Ethan Smith nodded, smiling as he said, “That's great then. There's no time to lose; let's set off immediately.”
“You're in that much of a hurry?” Justin was astonished.
Ethan Smith simply grunted, stating, “Time is of the essence; I cannot afford any delays.”
“Wait for me for a moment then, I need to prepare.” Justin said.
Ethan Smith nodded, taking a seat in the pavilion to wait for Justin Vasquez.
After more than half an hour, Justin came over.
“Let's go,” said Justin.
Ethan grunted in response, and without any further delay, the two of them set off for the Eastern Land that very day.
The Eastern Land was quite a distance away, requiring several days of travel even at their speeds.
“If only we had a spatial formation, that would be so much better,” Ethan Smith sighed.
As a result, Ethan Smith couldn't help feeling curious about the situation.
“Why hasn't the Cloud Sect's formation been utilized? When I first came to the Holy Region, I used that formation, and it's much more difficult than the regular teleportation found within the Holy Region.” Ethan Smith said, puzzled.
“The Cloud Sect's formation has always been a mystery. No one knows when or how it will be activated,” Justin replied.
Ethan Smith just grunted in response. The Cloud Sect's formation was most likely flawed; otherwise, Ken Middleton wouldn't have needed to risk crossing the dead river.
The two continued their journey, traveling slightly above ground level.
As they drew closer and closer to the Eastern Land, a figure suddenly stood in their way.
He stood directly in front of the Divine Eagle. His unimpressive stature radiated a strong oppressive aura.
Ethan Smith's brow furrowed slightly as he took a step forward, asking coldly, “Who are you, and why are you blocking our way?”
The stranger's face appeared to be obscured by some secret technique, making it impossible to discern his true identity, emitting a faint glow.
“Are you two planning to go to the Eastern Land?” The stranger inquired.
Ethan Smith remained silent for a moment before replying, “What does it have to do with you?”
“Was it the leader of the Cloud Sect who instructed you to go?” The stranger continued to ask.
Ethan Smith's face changed slightly as he squinted his eyes and asked, “Who exactly are you?!”
Ignoring his question, the figure coldly said, “I have come to tell you not to go to the Eastern Land. If you do… you are doomed!”
Upon hearing these words, Ethan Smith's face immediately paled!
