Chapter 1663
Chapter 1663: Chapter 1633: Earth on the Other Side of the Starry Sky Chapter 1663: Chapter 1633: Earth on the Other Side of the Starry Sky Dudley Lynch lifted his foot and stepped towards the dead river.
Simon Ingram stood to the side, watching Dudley Lynch coldly, with a hint of mockery in his eyes.
Soon, Dudley's foot stepped into the dead river. The instant he touched it, his face twisted in extreme pain, causing his body to shiver violently!
“Ahhh!!!”
Finally, Dudley could not bear it any longer, letting out an angry roar. He hurriedly crawled back to the shore with lingering fear on his face.
At this point, Dudley's foot had been completely corroded away. Though he regarded himself as someone who could tolerate pain, his face was full of horror.
“What, didn't you say if Ken Middleton can do it, so can you?” Simon Ingram raised an eyebrow, full of mockery.
Dudley didn't say a word, only feeling a chill on his back.
This kind of pain was something no human could bear.
He even felt that spending a fraction of a second longer in the dead river was worse than dying on the spot.
“How… How did Ken Middleton do it…” Dudley murmured, trembling.
No one paid attention to him. Simon Ingram and the others turned and left.
“The master must recover completely within a hundred days.” Simon Ingram remarked with emotion.
On the other side, Deputy Sect Master led Ethan Smith to the library.
There were many Followers of the Cloud Sect near the library, studying various techniques. Upon seeing Ethan Smith and the Deputy Sect Master arrive, they all bowed and greeted them.
After responding to each of them, Ethan Smith looked at the Deputy Sect Master.
“I want to know about the history of the Southern Province.” Ethan Smith said.
The Deputy Sect Master muttered, “Normally, most of the materials here are techniques of the Cloud Sect. As for the history you mentioned, I don't know.”
Ethan Smith looked surprised and asked, “Do you rarely come here?”
The Deputy Sect Master shook his head, “I come here often, but perhaps I am just not familiar enough with this place.”
“Little friend Ethan must be here to consult the sacred texts.”
At this moment, an elderly man walked out of the Scripture Pavilion.
This old man had a full head of white hair and looked quite aged, with deep wrinkles on his face like the folds of a bun.
“Master Frrero.” The Deputy Sect Master slightly bowed to the elderly man.
Ethan Smith also quickly bowed as a greeting.
The Deputy Sect Master introduced him, “Master Frrero is a Living Fossil of our Southern Province and is now in charge of our library. If you have any questions, it's better to ask him.”
Ethan Smith hurriedly walked forward, and just as he was about to speak, Master Frrero said, “The sect master has already told me. You may follow me.”
“Thank you, Master Frrero.” Ethan Smith politely replied.
With that, Ethan Smith followed Master Frrero into the library.
Inside the library, various books on techniques were stored. These books were incredibly well-preserved, showing no signs of having been through the Great War.
This made Ethan Smith look at Master Frrero with surprise.
It was known that the Cloud Sect had experienced two great wars. During those wars, the entire sect had almost perished, so it seemed impossible for these books to be unharmed.
Unless Master Frrero's strength was extremely powerful, powerful enough to protect the library from devastation!
“It was the formation laid down by the sect master.” At this point, Master Frrero began to speak.
He walked with an aged stride, saying as he went, “The sect master cherishes the library dearly. Strictly speaking, those who do not belong to our sect have no right to enter this library.”
“Therefore, he set up a formation here in advance. The precision of this formation even surpassed the one protecting the Cloud Sect.” Master Frrero continued.
Ethan Smith suddenly understood and quickly thanked Master Frrero, “Thank you for solving my confusion.”
Master Frrero walked ahead while saying, “There's no need to call me Master, just call me Frrero. If it weren't for the sect master valuing me, I would be long dead in some corner by now.”
Ethan Smith remained silent, but his mind was filled with thoughts.
Since Master Frrero was known as a Living Fossil of the Southern Province, there was likely nothing in the region that he didn't know about.
So, Ethan Smith took the opportunity to ask, “Master Frrero, the sect master said I should come to this library to study the history of the Southern Province. What is recorded in this history? When does it begin? And who compiled it?”
Master Frrero glanced at Ethan Smith and said faintly, “I wrote this book.”
Ethan Smith was taken aback and exclaimed, “You wrote it?”
“Yes, I once traveled throughout the Southern Province, consulted all available information, and then wrote this book. Within my capabilities, I have recorded the development of the Southern Province.”
Ethan Smith couldn't help but admire the old man.
Under Ethan Smith's divine sense, he was surprised to find that Master Frrero's strength was not powerful. In fact, he was not even a mighty realm cultivator!
It was truly incredible that someone of this level could travel through most of the Southern Province.
“Alright, this is the place.” Master Frrero stopped in his tracks as a stone wall appeared in front of him.
Then, Master Frrero raised his palm and placed it on the wall. In a few moments, the wall slowly opened.
“No wonder the Deputy Sect Master has never seen this before.” Ethan Smith whispered.
Behind the wall was a small secret chamber. The chamber's lighting was dim, with a large table in the middle, upon which lay a thick book.
“Go inside.” Master Frrero said.
“To finish reading this book, you'll need at least ten days at the quickest. I won't disturb you during this time. If you need anything, come and find me.” Master Frrero instructed.
Ethan Smith glanced at the thick book and quickly called out to Master Frrero.
“Master Frrero, I am short on time. If it's convenient for you, could you please stay and accompany me?” Ethan Smith asked tentatively.
Master Frrero was silent for a moment before agreeing, “Alright.”
“Thank you!” Ethan Smith bowed.
With such a living fossil present, Ethan Smith would have much less trouble.
The chamber door slowly closed, leaving only Ethan Smith and Master Frrero inside.
“You start reading.” Master Frrero said.
After saying that, he walked to the side and sat down with crossed legs, slightly closing his eyes as if meditating.
Ethan Smith opened the book and took a quick look before closing it again.
“Master Frrero, I have a question for you,” Ethan Smith approached and said.
Master Frrero opened his eyes, furrowing his eyebrows as he said, “Reading requires patience. With your current state of mind, you are not suited to read.”
Ethan Smith gave a bitter smile and said somewhat embarrassedly, “You are right, Master Frrero, but I have a very important question.”
Master Frrero nodded slightly, signaling Ethan Smith to continue.
Ethan Smith asked solemnly, “Have you ever heard of Earth in the Starry Sky Beyond?”
