Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1613

Chapter 1613: Chapter 1613: Return to the Grandeous Mountain Chapter 1613: Chapter 1613: Return to the Grandeous Mountain Upon hearing Eternal's words, the Deputy Sect Master frowned, “Are you proposing a negotiation?”

“Yes indeed, that was my intention,” responded Eternal with a friendly laugh.

“Our sect master cannot attend, I'll represent him,” hurriedly declared the Deputy Sect Master.

Eternal roared with laughter, “If your sect master cannot attend, it shows that Cloud Sect feels no responsibility towards the people of this world. In that case, we in North Plain will simply have to align ourselves with Cloud Sect.”

This extremely cunning statement passed the pressure onto Cloud Sect.

“I agree!”

At this point, Leroy Rhodes stood up and spoke.

Eternal nodded slightly, then said, “Very well, we'll meet in Eternal City three days from now.”

After leaving these words behind, Eternal hurriedly left the room.

Only after he departed did Kingsley Kelley manage to breathe a sigh of relief, massive beads of sweat rolling off his forehead.

Clearly, falsely claiming to be the leader of Cloud Sect had placed immense pressure on him.

“Damn, Edward Green has nerves of steel,” Kingsley couldn't help but mentally comment.

“Heh, seems like Eternal also wants to negotiate this matter,” Leroy said cavalierly.

Kingsley merely glanced at him, saying nothing.

The Deputy Sect Master pulled Kingsley to the side and asked, “Just who was that supposed sect master?”

“Who else could it be? One of the eighteen immortals,” answered Kingsley with bitter laughter.

The Deputy Sect Master paled in surprise, fearfully stating, “Do you realize that the eighteen immortals lack emotions? Aren't you afraid of being found out?”

Kingsley retorted, “Eternal deeply fears our sect master, even if he has doubts, he wouldn't dare to take the risk! That's why he suggested a meeting with the sect master in three days. He wants to safely probe for the truth.”

“And what are we supposed to do in three days?” the Deputy Sect Master asked, clearly troubled.

With a bitter smile, Kingsley replied, “We can only have one of the eighteen immortals continue the act. As for whether we can get away with it, we'll just have to leave it up to fate.”

After Eternal left Cloud Sect, a man in a black robe waiting outside rushed up to him.

“So, was the Cloud Sect's leader there?” the black-robed man asked eagerly.

Eternal sneered, “Ninety-nine percent chance he wasn't.”

“Seems like Simon Ingram told you the truth,” said the black-robed man.

“If that's the case, there's no need for us to continue being cordial with them!”

Eternal glared at him, “Are you deaf? I said ninety-nine percent, isn't there a one percent chance?”

The black-robed man opened his mouth, suddenly speechless.

Eternal squinted his eyes, sneering, “In three days, if the Cloud Sect master doesn't show up, it means he's definitely not here. And then we'll no longer need to be cautious.”

Finished speaking, he looked at the black-robed man, ordering coldly, “Bring people to Eternal City. In three days, I want to prepare a grand show.”

“Yes, sir!”

In the midst of a desert, there lies an abruptly standing tomb.

Here, dark energy overwhelms, and no living thing is to be found.

However, in this environment, a young man is sitting cross-legged, absorbing the dark energy emanating from the tomb.

Droplets of perspiration occasionally fall from his forehead, indicating the difficulty of the process.

“Whoosh!”

Just then, Ethan Smith suddenly opened his eyes.

His gaze remained fixed on the tomb, as if wary of something.

“Strange, what on earth is in this tomb.” Ethan's brows furrowed.

For some reason, he couldn't settle his heart, as though an unseen pair of eyes were glaring at him from the shadows.

This peculiar feeling was strikingly similar to the gaze of the green organism he had encountered.

Ethan rose from the ground. He looked towards the shadows, murmuring, “The last time the man with the mustache mentioned that there's still something hidden in here. Seems like the kid was right.”

With his present state of mind, Ethan could not possibly concentrate on cultivation.

What made Ethan even more distressed was that after being in seclusion for this long, he still hadn't shown signs of breaking through to the middle stage as a mighty realm cultivator.

“Seems cultivating isn't as straightforward as I thought,” he mused.

He closed his eyes and once more tried to absorb the dark energy from the tomb. However, the moment he closed his eyes, that strange feeling returned.

“Who is that lurking around? If you have the guts, show yourself!” Ethan shouted towards the tomb.

A horrifying spiritual power burst out and into the tomb entrance. Huge stones toppled one after another!

But aside from the echo of Ethan's voice, there was no other sound from within the cave.

“If you don't come out, I'll have to go in!” Ethan yelled.

With those words, he prepared to step into the cave.

Just then, the ground started to shake, and a vast hand erupted, slamming towards Ethan!

Ethan's face turned pale. He quickly activated the line word formula and shot back!

The gigantic hand hit the ground with a booming sound. Its terrifying aura whipped up a cloud of dust!

Ethan's face turned ashen, as he was about to stand, the huge hand in front of him disappeared without a trace.

“What's going on?” Ethan rubbed his eyes in disbelief, and was shocked to find no mark left by the hand on the ground.

“Was it an illusion?” Ethan furrowed his brows.

No, that was wrong. The feeling just now was extremely clear. If he hadn't had the line word formula to protect him, that large hand would definitely have smacked him onto the ground!

Mustering his courage, Ethan walked back towards the cave entrance.

His heart pounded as he cautiously and nervously maneuvered through the terrain.

But upon reaching the entrance, he once again stopped in his tracks.

“Forget it,” Ethan shook his head.

The events at the Saint Tomb, where Ethan had lost all his cultivation, was still fresh in his memory. Who could guarantee that this tomb wouldn't emit the same death aura?

At such a critical juncture, if he lost his Qi again, that could cause serious problems.

Having weighed his options, Ethan finally decided to leave this place at least for now, to avoid any unnecessary trouble.

Thus, Ethan summoned the Divine Eagle and directed it towards Grandeous Mountain.

The distance to Grandeous Mountain was not a short one; even with the Divine Eagle, it would take at least two days

On the way, Ethan noticed that the war situation seemed to have stabilized quite a bit, and there were fewer cultivators in the northern plains.

“Hmmm? Did someone take action?” Ethan couldn't help but be surprised.

With a sense of apprehension, Ethan dashed straight to Grandeous Mountain.

After two days, Ethan arrived at Grandeous Mountain from a distance.

From quite a distance away, he could hear the voices of the Freeman brothers.

As always, the two seemed carefree, continuously consuming alcohol.

“Huh? The Freeman brothers are back?” Ethan was somewhat surprised.

Listening more closely, Ethan heard another familiar voice.

“Damn it, I'm not afraid of Eternal! If he dares to come, I will shove his head into his backside!”

“Brother Clay, you are mighty! No more talking, let's drink two more jins of wine, I think you can even shove the head of Cloud Sect's leader into his backside!”
