Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1589 – 1589 1589
Chapter 1589: Chapter 1589 – The Incredible Depth Chapter 1589: Chapter 1589 – The Incredible Depth The Northland is home to the Four Great Godly Kings and Eight Venerables.
The Eight Venerables are the most powerful individuals standing right below the Four Great Godly Kings.
Although their strength is not on par with the Four Great Godly Kings, they are not to be underestimated, and even surpass the Eternal ones in many aspects.
The shock of such powerful figures dying abruptly was nothing short of overwhelming.
“Ethan Smith…he killed off the Eight Venerables so quickly…” uttered an onlooker in the temple, their face draining pale in shock.
“It seems we had underestimated Ethan Smith's abilities…”
“This matter must be reported to the Godly King immediately, you all wait here, I'll go report.”
Of course, these people do not know about Clare Richardson's existence; they only know that the Eight Venerables were beheaded in an instant.
For the North Plain, this is undoubtedly a huge loss.
Ethan Smith returned to the tavern, finished his leftover meal, and then summoned the Divine Eagle, heading towards Kendrick Burke's residence.
This location was not too far from the Kendrick Burke's residence. On the way, Ethan Smith was ruminating over everything Clare Richardson had said.
You shouldn't set foot in the Central Province until you reach the Reversion Void Stage.
Originally, Ethan Smith had planned to head to the Central Province after resolving North Plain Affairs.
But now, this abrupt news left Ethan Smith somewhat at a loss.
In his mind, the figure of Emily Taylor surfaced; the two had not seen each other for a long time and his hidden longing for her tormented him at all times.
“Central Province…” Ethan Smith murmured, revealing a glint of determination in his eyes.
The rapid growth of Clare Richardson had truly astonished Ethan Smith.
And the one who arrived in the Holy Region before him, Frederick Cohen, must also be making quite a name for himself by now.
All of them are top-tier geniuses and will not be outmatched by anyone; they will be sought after by numerous sects for their talent.
“I also need to speed up my training,” Ethan Smith thought to himself.
His eyes slightly closed as he began to draw the surrounding qi into himself.
The secrets of the Northland fascinated Ethan Smith as well.
Not only did Ken Middleton want the dead river to disappear, Ethan Smith wanted the same thing too.
Eventually, in the vast mountain ranges, a grotto-heaven finally came into sight.
This place could be genuinely considered an ideal training environment–it was strategically located and free from any disturbances.
On the massive stone door entrance bore a large character which marked the owner of this grotto-heaven.
Ethan Smith hopped off the Divine Eagle and landed at the entrance of the grotto-heaven.
At the entrance, two men dressed in horrifying grotesque garb stood. Their appearance was exceedingly fearsome, enough to send chills down one's spine.
However, the aura emanating from them was even eerier.
It was unlike that emitted by any human clan cultivator.
“Please inform him, Ethan Smith is here by an appointment made by his senior Ken Middleton,” Ethan Smith said politely.
The entrance guard took one look at Ethan Smith and sneered, “Mr. Burke isn't taking visitors.”
Ethan's brows furrowed, “Please inform him, I have important business.”
The guard glared at Ethan Smith and scoffed, “Young man, you seem to lack manners.”
Ethan Smith was stunned and asked, “What do you mean?”
The two guards chuckled coldly, “Why should we inform him for you?”
Ethan Smith paused. He quickly understood what they meant.
So, he pulled out a wad of magic coins and handed it over to them.
“Could you please inform him?” Ethan Smith asked.
The two of them flung the magic coins onto the ground and mocked, “Are you tipping beggars?”
“For God's sake…” Ethan Smith was absolutely livid. However, as he was in need of their assistance, he suppressed his anger and asked, “How much do you want?”
“At the very least, offer us a treasure that we desire,” the two guards responded coldly.
With no other option, Ethan Smith took a couple of pills from his Spatial Magic Artifact and handed them to the guards.
After receiving and scrutinizing the pills, the two uttered a dismissive grunt, “Wait here.”
Upon seeing this, Ethan Smith's opinion of Kendrick Burke immediately worsened.
Truly, a fish starts stinking from the head down.
There's a high chance Kendrick Burke isn't much of a decent character either.
A few minutes later, the two exceedingly repugnant guards stepped out.
“Go in. Walk straight and you'll find Mr. Burke,” they said.
Ethan Smith didn't say anything more and immediately stepped into the grotto-heaven.
This was indeed an auspicious place. Hues of sunlight filtered through the trees, scattering beautiful patterns onto the ground.
Both sides were decorated with natural jade and divine stones, radiating extravagance.
Down the lane leading to the end, Ethan saw an extremely grand residence.
Since his arrival in the Holy Region, this was the most lavish structure that Ethan Smith had seen.
The entire mansion glittered with gilt colors–it was somewhat ostentatious, yet also brimming with an overwhelming boldness.
The Great Hall in the center held a round black table, evidently made from precious Inkstone.
A middle-aged man was sitting there having tea.
What was shocking was that his tea–was Enlightenment Tea!
Ethan Smith was taken aback. Who on earth was this Kendrick Burke, and how many treasures was his grotto-heaven hiding?
Seeing Ethan Smith approaching, Kendrick Burke gestured him to come over and asked cheerfully, “Are you introduced by Ken Middleton?”
Ethan Smith collected his divine sense and replied politely, “Greetings, Mr. Burke. I am Ethan Smith.”
“Oh, what brings you to me?” Kendrick Burke asked, pouring a cup of tea for him.
Ethan jolted in surprise. This was Enlightenment Tea–a treasure!
And so, Ethan Smith downed the tea in one go and the refreshing sensation immediately spread through his mind!
“This indeed is Enlightenment Tea,” Ethan Smith exclaimed.
The effect of the Enlightenment Tea was far superior even to that of the Grandeous Fruit!
Kendrick Burke laughed heartily, saying, “It's just Enlightenment Tea. I have loads of it at home–gifts from people.”
Ethan shook his head in admiration, “Mr. Burke's resources are truly shocking.”
At this point, Kendrick Burke changed the subject, “Since you're here to ask for my help, what are you planning to give me?”
Ethan Smith paused for a second and then smiled, “I wonder what Mr. Burke desires.”
With a raised eyebrow, Kendrick Burke looks towards Ethan Smith's Spatial Magic Artifact and said, “How would I know what you have?”
With that said, Kendrick waved his hand and said, “Forget it, just tell me what you want first.”
Ethan Smith relayed the entire incident to Kendrick Burke.
“This involves a huge complication between the Southern Province and Northland–your assistance is required,” Ethan Smith said as he bowed.
Kendrick Burke waved his hand impatiently, “Let me see what you've got in your Spatial Magic Artifact.”
Ethan Smith didn't think much. After all, he was here for a favor, so offering something was expected.
So, Ethan Smith took everything out of his Spatial Magic Artifact, including the bracelet Clare Richardson had gifted him, as well as the Valepeak Buddha Flame and all other treasures.
