Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1570
Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: A Clone?! Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: A Clone?! This divine king struggled desperately, his voice filled with pleas for assistance.
But neither of the two kings was in a position to help, as they had their own predicaments to deal with.
Suddenly, his body was swallowed by the black hole before disappearing without a trace!
The remaining two rapidly closed in on each other.
The halted spectators in the distance were utterly shocked.
The Leader of the Cloud Sect had not tried his hand in quite some time, and the Rashomon had become the stuff of legend!
“The Rashomon lives up to its reputation.” someone mused.
“The three godly kings from North Plain, were they going to perish right here?”
“This seems utterly unbelievable.”
As the two divine kings were about to be swallowed by the Rashomon, the form of the sect master began to dissipate!
Following which his Rashomon faded too!
The two divine kings gasped in great joy, their eyes brimming with unspeakable excitement!
“Hahaha! This is destiny! Leader of the Cloud Sect, you're doomed!” one of the divine kings roared.
The sect master remained silent, observing as his form gradually disappeared.
“The sect master… is he really dying…” someone stammered out.
“This is impossible… the sect master, how could he die!”
Deputy Sect Master's face was particularly pale. His already shattered body now began to disintegrate despite the pain.
“The Cloud Sect is now history.” a divine king remarked coldly.
They watched helplessly as the sect master's form slowly disappeared until it was completely gone!
At the height of their jubilation, two divine kings found a peculiar stone on the ground.
The stone was multicolored and radiant like a divine stone, incredibly dazzling.
“Huh?” a divine king noticed the stone.
He walked swiftly over to pick it up.
When he recognized the stone, his face turned grim!
“This… this is a Divine Stone!” the divine king stuttered.
“A Divine Stone?” The other divine king was taken aback, he quickly walked over to take a look!
He held the stone in his hand to inspect it close-up.
But before he could fully comprehend it, the stone began to splinter and soon shattered completely!
The expressions on both of their faces grew whiter and filled with dread.
Onlookers had also noticed the stone by then.
“A Divine Stone? Wasn't that the stone claimed to be capable of creating a duplicate?”
“Are you saying… the one who was fighting against the three godly kings wasn't the real Leader of Cloud Sect, but just his duplicate?”
“How is this possible… just a duplicate was nearly enough to kill the Three Great Godly Kings, how terrifying is the true master of the Cloud Sect…”
The most horrified ones were certainly the two divine kings.
Their faces turned serious, their bodies quaking.
“The one we were fighting… wasn't actually the real Leader of Cloud Sect…” one king mourned.
They had never imagined, using just a stand-in, the Lone Cloud Sect master would push them to such extremes!
What's worse, they now had one less Godly King!
“It seems Simon Ingram's warning was not just a bluff.” one divine king mumbled.
“Thank goodness the Leader of Cloud Sect isn't on Cultivation Mountain, otherwise….”
The consequences were unimaginable! Most likely, all three of them would have died right there!
“We shouldn't stay here long, who knows if he's nearby.” a divine king coldly suggested.
Exchanging a glance with each other, the two kings quickly expelled from the Cloud Sect.
Only after they left, the disciples started rushing towards Cultivation Mountain.
Looking at the chaotic scene on Cultivation Mountain, everyone couldn't help but sigh in regret.
“Cultivation Mountain used to be where the sect master would retreat, and now it's just ruins. It's a pity.”
“This is not the problem. The real question is where has the Sect Master gone? Why did he just leave a clone behind? Isn't he supposed to be in retreat?”
“Could it be that the Sect Master is traveling the world?”
Everyone there had similar guesses.
The Cloud Sect leader had been in retreat for a long time, but his reappearance was nowhere to be seen. How could that not be astonishing?
“The frightening power of the Cloud Sect Master might just be beyond our wildest imagination.”
“When I think about it now, Eternal just seems like a joke. Them, attempting to covet Cloud Sect.”
“After experiencing this, the North Plain will probably have to reconsider.”
The northern border remains silent.
Day after day, entire North Plain hasn't taken any action.
From time to time, at the edge of the dead river, Ken Middleton casts his gaze toward the opposite side, as if eager to detect something.
But there's nothingness across the dead river, no sign of presence.
“Senior Middleton.”
It's then, Ethan Smith approaches.
Middleton glances over at Ethan, sighs, and laments: “I wish I knew what tricks North Plain's up to.”
“Maybe they're a bit gun-shy after the last battle. Afraid of stirring up more trouble.” Ethan suggested.
Middleton shakes his head: “That's not possible. Once North Plain makes a move, they're not going to stop. Because this is the perfect opportunity for them.”
Ethan agrees, and asks: “Senior Middleton, have you sorted out the formation yet?”
“Just a bit more.” Middleton replies in a deep voice.
Ethan tries to offer his help: “What if… You explained to me the formation, maybe I could help.”
But Middleton shakes his head, rejecting Ethan's proposal.
“If we want to trigger this formation, we'll likely need several people. When that time comes, we will need your help.” Middleton turns to Ethan and speaks.
Ethan promises: “Rest assured, Senior Middleton. Now, cultivators in the Southern Province are already rising up, resisting the North Plain invaders.”
Middleton sternly says: “It's not enough to win this battle with just us few.”
“Yeah.” Ethan sighs in agreement.
“The Southern Province doesn't lack masters, like Gregory Hum, Monk Theo Miller, even the Leader of Cloud Sect, they all have the capability to fight alone, it's just that they aren't willing to step up.” Ethan speaks softly.
Middleton doesn't say much in response, just continues to gaze towards the north, lost in thought.
“Senior Middleton, what do you know about the Leader of Cloud Sect?” Ethan suddenly asks.
Upon hearing this, Middleton turns to look at Ethan.
At the same time, Ethan opened the desolate divine eye, as if he wanted to secretly peek at the face underneath the mask.
But what surprised Ethan was that beneath the mask was just an empty void, nothing could be seen at all.
He didn't know what kind of secret technique had been put to use, but it even blocked the gaze of the desolate divine eye.
“I just know that he's a very strong person.” Middleton replies.
Ethan attempts to ask: “Then compared with you, who would be stronger or weaker?”
Middleton is taken aback, after a long pause he shakes his head: “We've never crossed hands, so any judgment would be reckless.”
Ethan responds with a nod, then asks another question: “Senior Middleton, there's something I'm more curious about.”
Middleton remains silent, as if waiting for Ethan's next words.
“Why do you always wear that mask?” Ethan asks with curiosity.
