Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1567

Chapter 1567: Chapter 1567: The Most Yin Object Chapter 1567: Chapter 1567: The Most Yin Object “Were they forcibly pulled together?” Ethan Smith widened his eyes in disbelief.

This was about two massive tectonic plates. Such vast stretches of land, how could they be pulled together by sheer force? Just how immense must that power be?

Ken Middleton hummed in response and said, “I've been calculating over the past few days. When the time comes, we may need some manpower.”

Ethan Smith couldn't help but feel startled, utterly awestruck by Ken Middleton's domineering presence.

“In the meantime, stay here for now,” Ken Middleton said, glancing at Ethan Smith.

Ethan Smith nodded and replied, “I had already planned to stay and fight by your side against the North Plain.”

“Thank you,” Ken Middleton said with a nod.

Meanwhile, elsewhere–

Eric Mitchell lay injured, his body covered in wounds, overwhelmed by excruciating pain.

He collapsed onto the bed, panting heavily, his breaths shallow and strained.

If it weren't for the North Plain's exceptionally advanced techniques, he would undoubtedly have been a lifeless corpse by now.

Alf Dillon and Eric Mitchell had also suffered varying degrees of injuries. Despite teaming up against Ken Middleton, they still lost–a defeat that left them feeling deeply embittered.

As they recuperated, Simon Ingram entered the room.

Surveying the scene, Simon Ingram asked, “How are you feeling?”

Eric Mitchell shook his head and said, “I suggest we eliminate Ken Middleton immediately, no matter the cost.”

Simon Ingram remained silent, conflicted about today's battle. *Ken Middleton was like a relentless War God, showing no signs of exhaustion.*

*What troubled Simon Ingram most was his nagging suspicion that Ken Middleton hadn't even revealed his true strength.*

After all, Ken Middleton had not utilized any techniques, relying solely on his raw spiritual power.

“Even I might not be able to defeat Ken Middleton,” Simon Ingram remarked gravely.

His true form was immensely powerful, far surpassing his avatar, yet even so, Simon Ingram felt an intense unease, fearing to cross the dead river to set foot in the Southern Province.

“And as for Ethan Smith… He must be killed as well,” Eric Mitchell said with great difficulty.

Simon Ingram glanced at Eric Mitchell and said, “Don't rush it. Over the next period, focus on mastering the Sacred Heart Formula.”

“Once the Sacred Heart Formula is perfected, Ethan Smith will be negligible.”

Eric Mitchell nodded repeatedly. Losing to Ken Middleton didn't sting as much.

But losing to a junior–and losing so miserably–was something he couldn't accept!

Simon Ingram turned and left. Walking alone against the biting wind and snow, no one could tell where he was headed.

Eventually, Simon Ingram arrived at the very center.

Three figures stood there, each emanating an aura no weaker than Simon Ingram's.

These four individuals were the North Plain's current leaders, known as the Four Great Godly Kings.

“You're here.”

Upon seeing Simon Ingram, one of them spoke.

“Yes,” Simon Ingram replied with a nod.

“Rumor has it this battle ended in failure again,” another person asked.

Simon Ingram sighed softly, momentarily speechless.

“Hmph, if you can't handle it, let us take action,” one of them sneered.

Simon Ingram shook his head and said, “The Southern Province isn't as simple as you think. Just Ken Middleton and the Leader of the Cloud Sect are forces to be reckoned with.”

“Hmph, fearing wolves ahead and tigers behind–how can we achieve anything great? We've already decided; tomorrow we head for the Southern Province,” another coldly declared.

“Absolutely not!” Simon Ingram protested, shaking his head urgently.

“There's no need to argue further. We've already consulted the Lord, and the Lord has approved,” one of them said, their tone icy.

Hearing this, Simon Ingram's face shifted slightly.

He instinctively glanced at the towering snowy mountain before him.

Beneath that mountain lay the slumbering Lord of North Plain.

The Lord had been in hibernation for years, while the North Plain continually devoured countless living beings to sustain his existence.

As the ultimate authority in the North Plain, the Lord's word was final, leaving Simon Ingram no room for objection.

“I urge you all–do not approach the Cloud Sect, and do not provoke its leader,” Simon Ingram said with a deep frown.

“Oh? What's wrong? Did that past battle leave you traumatized?” another mocked.

Simon Ingram opened his mouth but didn't know how to respond.

Simon Ingram wasn't originally from the North Plain. During a time when the Southern Province was fragmented, he had ruled his own territory there–although it wasn't called the Southern Province then.

Later, the Leader of the Cloud Sect launched sweeping campaigns, conquering the entirety of the Southern Province and uniting all its sects.

Since then, Simon Ingram fled to the North Plain, eventually becoming one of its Four Great Godly Kings.

“I've seen his terrifying power with my own eyes,” Simon Ingram said gravely.

“Hah, you're merely fearmongering,” the other three brushed it off dismissively.

“One day, we'll march into the Southern Province and inevitably clash with the leader of the Cloud Sect. Why not test him now?”

Simon Ingram suggested in a solemn tone, “I propose we wait for the Lord to awaken from his hibernation before confronting the leader of the Cloud Sect.”

“Hmph! Such a trivial matter doesn't require the Lord's intervention. Are all you Southern Province people so weak and cowardly?” one Godly King snapped.

“Tomorrow, we'll march into the Southern Province and confront their strongest warriors!”

With those words, the other three dismissed Simon Ingram, hastily leaving the scene.

Heavy snow began to fall from the sky. Simon Ingram stared at the towering snowy mountain before him, remaining silent, lost in thought.

Night fell.

The northern border was bone-chillingly cold; even Ethan Smith felt a slight discomfort.

“Why is the North Plain so frigid?” Ethan Smith furrowed his brows.

Given that this was a realm of cultivation, under normal circumstances, such harsh cold shouldn't even exist.

“Could it be that the North Plain harbors some supreme dark energy?” Ethan Smith pondered inwardly.

Closing his eyes slightly, he attempted to absorb the dark energy lingering in the air.

And sure enough! The air indeed contained faint traces of dark energy.

Though its proportion was minuscule, it still indirectly confirmed Ethan Smith's suspicion!

Ethan Smith couldn't help but feel thrilled. If the North Plain truly held some supreme dark energy, it would be an enormous boon to him!

After mulling over the matter briefly, Ethan Smith rose and made his way to Ken Middleton's quarters.

At that moment, Ken Middleton had yet to retire for the night and was still studying the intricacies of formation techniques.

Seeing Ethan Smith enter, Ken Middleton stood and asked, “What's the matter? Are you feeling unaccustomed to staying here?”

Ethan Smith grinned and replied, “Not at all, Senior Ken Middleton. I came to ask you a question.”

Ken Middleton nodded slightly, signaling for Ethan Smith to proceed.

Ethan Smith asked earnestly, “Why is the North Plain so bitterly cold?”

A hint of surprise flickered across Ken Middleton's face. Clearly, he hadn't anticipated Ethan Smith inquiring about this.

“To be honest, I'm not entirely sure,” Ken Middleton said after a brief pause, shaking his head.

“This chill in the North Plain has lingered for over ten thousand years, yet no one truly understands its underlying cause,” Ken Middleton remarked.

Ethan Smith continued in a serious tone, “This icy cold carries faint traces of dark energy. Do you think… the North Plain might conceal some supreme dark energy? Or perhaps it was once an ancient battlefield?”

“That's very plausible…”

A voice suddenly echoed–it was Obadiah Heptinstall.
