Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1380
Chapter 1380: Chapter 1380: Cynical Rage_1 Chapter 1380: Chapter 1380: Cynical Rage_1 Mr. Snider's words, Ethan Smith heard them loud and clear on the side.
Initially, Kingsley Kelly had scored a staggering ninety-one points on the Holy Testing Rock, which was indeed shocking.
However, the test results from the Holy Testing Rock were not 100% accurate; they could only be used as a screening tool.
Many people who scored high on the Holy Testing Rock turned out to be mediocre later on.
Since the Cloud Sect paid so much attention to Kingsley Kelly now, it showed that he had demonstrated exceptional talent in his subsequent cultivation.
“So, you're not going to kill them?” someone nearby asked in surprise.
Mr. Snider waved his hand and smiled faintly, “Not necessarily. We've agreed to Kingsley's request for now, but who knows what will happen later.”
“Not killing them doesn't mean others can't get rid of them.”
“Mr. Snider, what do you mean?” someone asked with some confusion.
Mr. Snider sneered, “As disciples of the sect, they will naturally venture out for experience. We can simply send them to Azure Rock Forest.”
“If they die, it's not our fault, but the discerning people will know it's the will of the Cloud Sect.”
“So that's how it is, Mr. Snider's methods are truly remarkable!” The crowd praised in unison.
Ethan Smith's face darkened outside the door, and he spat a few mouthfuls of phlegm into his plate immediately.
He pushed open the door and delivered the food inside.
Mr. Snider glanced at Ethan Smith but showed no special reaction, which allowed Ethan to breathe a sigh of relief.
After leaving the room, Ethan's expression turned even colder.
“It seems I need to find a way to get them out as soon as possible,” Ethan thought to himself.
At this moment, the waiter approached him.
“Hey, why are you still here? Mr. Trivett is looking for you!” the waiter said.
Ethan Smith agreed, then hurried towards the backyard.
In the backyard, Mr. Trivett was waiting for Ethan.
Next to him was a woman; when Ethan glanced at her, he found that she was quite pretty, with a seemingly frail figure but a faint aura of energy.
“Hey, where have you been?” Mr. Trivett rushed over when he saw Ethan.
Ethan replied, “I saw that the waiter was too busy, so I helped him deliver some food.”
Mr. Trivett waved it off. Turning to the naive-looking young man, he said, “Clara Cobbett, from now on, he… um, what's your name?”
Mr. Trivett suddenly turned around and looked at Ethan Smith.
Thinking for a moment, Ethan replied, “My name is Carmen Taylor.”
“Carmen Taylor? Are you from the Taylor Family?” Mr. Trivett frowned at his words.
Ethan frantically waved his hand, “No, no, no, if I were from the Taylor Family, I wouldn't be here.”
“That's true.” Mr. Trivett nodded.
Without giving it much thought, he immediately told the woman, “Clara Cobbett, you take care of Carmen Taylor from now on, got it?”
Clara nodded without saying much.
After Mr. Trivett left, Clara asked Ethan, “What's your relationship with Mr. Trivett?”
“No relationship, I'm just here to work,” Ethan replied casually.
Clara just responded with “oh,” then continued, “Get ready to go with us to deliver some goods later.”
“So soon?” Ethan couldn't help but be a little surprised.
Clara snorted coldly, “These Cloud Sect people are like pigs, they eat so goddamn much; they eat even more than the pigs in my hometown.”
After saying this, Clara turned around and left.
Ethan spread his hands and muttered, “It seems that Clara doesn't like the Cloud Sect very much.”
By evening, Clara and Ethan were getting ready to send out the goods.
Meanwhile, Mr. Snider and the others had only just started to leave slowly.
Clara looked at them and couldn't help but snort, “A bunch of pigheads, all they know is to eat and drink every day.”
Ethan couldn't help but ask, “You seem to have a lot of grievances with them?”
“Of course I do!” Anger instantly flashed across Clara's face.
“So many people in my hometown have starved to death, and in order to survive, they even resorted to cannibalism! And then look at these pigheads from the Cloud Sect, feasting and wasting food every day.” Clara couldn't help but grind her teeth.
Ethan scratched his head and said, “But… is the starvation of your hometown's people related to the Cloud Sect?”
“What a load of crap! The entire Southern Province is under the control of the Cloud Sect, and all the good things have been swept away by them!” Clara cursed.
“When the Cloud Sect took away talented people in the past, it left only old folks, women, and children, as well as ordinary people. How could they survive in such an environment?”
Clara got more and more excited as she spoke. Pointing at the signboard of the Cloud Sect, she said, “Including this damn Harmony Tower, if Mr. Trivett weren't related to the First Elder, would he be qualified to supply the Cloud Sect with goods?”
“Supplying the Cloud Sect with goods is something any fool could do, so why does Mr. Trivett get all the benefits?”
Ethan was left speechless.
He hadn't expected to encounter such worldly matters even in the Holy Region.
“This world has never been fair,” Clara snorted.
Leaving these words behind, she headed towards the direction of the storage room.
“It seems that Clara is quite cynical,” Ethan remarked.
With that said, he also followed Clara to the storage room, preparing to deliver the goods to the Cloud Sect.
