Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1347

Chapter 1347: Chapter 1347: Randall Freeman_1 Chapter 1347: Chapter 1347: Randall Freeman_1 For the following few days, Ethan Smith stayed at the Freeman Family Estate.

He spent his days accompanying Salena Carpenter on shopping trips, essentially becoming her personal cushion.

However, Salena seemed too young, like a child, so Ethan didn't feel too much pressure from her.

Three days passed like this.

On the fourth day, Randall Freeman, who had been absent, finally returned from outside.

“Damn, I came back late.” As soon as he entered, Randall cursed under his breath.

Clay Freeman and Alfred Freeman approached with smirks, saying triumphantly, “Grandpa, we agreed that whoever came back late had to give the other one hundred and sixty thousand magic coins.”

After saying that, the two pretended to count money.

“Damn it!” Randall cursed again, and albeit unwillingly, he gave them one hundred and sixty thousand magic coins.

Just then, Ethan and Salena returned from outside.

As soon as they entered, Salena shouted, “Old man Randall!”

Startled, Randall quickly turned to look at Salena.

His expression changed, and he said with a smile, “It's Salena, how come you're here?”

Salena jumped off Ethan's shoulder and raised her head, saying, “Why can't I be here? Aren't you welcoming me?”

“Of course not, I think about you all the time.” Randall said insincerely.

Hearing this, Salena suddenly jumped up and grabbed Randall's beard.

Randall was a huge, old man over two meters tall.

Salena, on the other hand, was only about 1.4 to 1.5 meters tall. When she jumped up and grabbed Randall's beard, she could practically swing like a pendulum.

“If you miss me so much, why didn't you go to Nexinton Mountain to find me?” Salena asked as she yanked Randall's beard.

“Ouch, let go quickly…” Randall covered his beard, looking very pained.

“I'm not letting go!” Salena huffed.

Ethan was dumbfounded as he watched.

These two powerful cultivators were acting like children, completely overturning his previous impression of them.

“Let's get out of here!” Clay pulled Ethan and they slipped out quietly.

“Huh, the person my grandpa least wants to see is Salena.” Clay said, patting his chest.

“Yeah, yeah.” Alfred nodded in agreement.

Ethan forced a smile, “It seems like your grandpa and Salena are quite close.”

“Of course, they have been friends for many years.” Clay replied nonchalantly.

Ethan then realized why the Cloud Sect didn't want to offend Randall that day.

If Salena and Randall teamed up, the Cloud Sect wouldn't stand a chance.

Ethan and Clay drank at the manor until evening when they were called by Randall to the dining hall.

The dining table was filled with delicacies, while Randall sat on the side with a gloomy expression.

His gaze fell on Ethan and he then said coldly, “You're the one who killed Philbert Duncan, Ethan Smith?”

Ethan quickly bowed in respect, “Greetings, Elder Randall.”

Randall nodded approvingly, “Not bad, you have some skills. I heard you killed Philbert right in front of the First Elder?”

Ethan forced a smile, “Yes, it's because of this that the Cloud Sect is now desperately trying to find me.”

“Afraid… Afraid of what… Hmm…” Salena mumbled as she stuffed food into her mouth.

“You're my cushion, the Cloud Sect… wouldn't dare to do anything to you.”

Randall slightly nodded, “As long as you're with me, the Cloud Sect shouldn't come looking for trouble.”

Ethan nodded, “Thank you, Elder.”

Randall took another look at Ethan, and then asked, “No spiritual power? A useless body?”

“No, I've been poisoned by the Twilight Qi.” Ethan replied gravely.

Upon hearing this, Randall's eyes lit up briefly, but the expression quickly faded.

“So, you're saying that it's because of the Twilight Poison that you can't use spiritual power anymore?” Randall asked expressionlessly.

Although his face looked calm and indifferent, he was already secretly ecstatic inside.

Ethan nodded, “But my Twilight Poison is different from that in ordinary people.”

Immediately, Ethan recounted the whole story of his situation to Randall.

Randall showed no emotion on his face, but he had already made up his mind.

Randall had only two grandsons in the entire Freeman Family, and he didn't even have any personal disciples.

These two grandsons had no interest in cultivation, and Randall had been worried about who to pass on his legacy to. Wasn't Ethan the perfect choice?

“Alright, let's eat.” Randall said expressionlessly.

After dinner, Randall wiped his mouth and stood up. “Ethan, accompany me for a walk.”

“Alright.” Ethan didn't think much of it. He had some questions he wanted to ask and followed Randall outside.

As the two walked around the Freeman Family Estate, Randall asked casually, “Ethan, what do you think of my two grandsons?”

Ethan thought for a moment and said, “Although Clay and Alfred may not look serious, they are kind-hearted people. I think they're quite good.”

Randall coughed, “Most cultivators would probably look down on people like them.”

Ethan smiled, “I don't think so. It's just different choices for different people. There's no right or wrong.”

Randall grew happier the more he listened, almost bursting with joy in his heart.

Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks and looked at Ethan with a serious expression.

“Ethan, would you be willing to accept me as your master?” Randall asked earnestly.
