Mr. Su's Love Investigation Report -
Chapter 259 - 250
Chapter 259: Chapter 250
After a while, she finally pushed him away, complaining, "You’re so cold..." She turned over and continued sleeping.
He had just come in from outside, bringing the chill with him.
He looked at her still groggy and clueless expression, chuckling as he took off his coat, "When did you get here?"
"I had dinner at your place," she replied, still drowsy, yawning and telling him with her eyes closed, "Sister Qian made pickled fish, scallion oil chicken, and eggplant with soy sauce today. It was delicious; I had three bowls of rice..."
He laughed out loud, bent down, and reached to touch her belly, "Three bowls and you still ate all these snacks? What’ll you do if you get fat?"
She wrinkled her nose and slapped his hand away, still very dismissive, "Your hand is cold!"
Even though she said his hand was cold, he insisted on getting her up, "Get up, brush your teeth, and then go back to sleep."
She sat up, still bleary-eyed, and asked him, "Did you eat? What did you eat?"
It was all meaningless "chatter." He had gone home; he must have eaten since he came back so late. But he enjoyed talking about these things with her. This "chatter" was interesting with her. Grandma used to ask him like this, whether he had eaten, what he had eaten, and who he had eaten with. Even though Grandma often didn’t know what he ate or recognize the people he ate with, he would still describe it all to her in detail. Now she also liked to ask, so he told her, "I did. There were a lot of dishes, but I just ate fish, fried meatballs, and half a bowl of vegetables. I didn’t eat as much rice as you did."
"Are you hungry?" she yawned, "Sister Qian also wrapped dumplings for breakfast tomorrow, with beef filling, pork and shepherd’s purse filling, three fresh fillings, and vegetarian fillings. I mixed the fillings. Which one would you like?"
"Really? You can mix fillings too? Didn’t cause any trouble, did you?" See, it was all these everyday trivialities, but he found it interesting and genuinely enjoyed talking about them with her, even though he never told her.
She was displeased, "I’ve been capable since I was a kid! How could I cause trouble!?"
"Okay, I spoke wrongly, my apologies." He smoothed her unruly bangs and casually lifted her to sit on his lap.
"So, which filling do you want? I’ll cook it?" Mr. Su was in a good mood today. Since he apologized, she was magnanimous and didn’t mind anymore, hmph!
"I think... the sweet filling," he thought for a moment and said.
She had just woken up, a bit slow in the head, and was somewhat dumbfounded, "There’s no sweet filling..." She had eaten sweet buns before but never sweet dumplings.
"There is..." He gazed at her slightly pouting, soft lips shimmering with a gentle glow.
She looked up at him in confusion, her eyes like a deer’s just waking up.
He leaned down and touched her lips before deepening the kiss.
Only then did she understand what he meant by the sweet filling...
Her face flushed hot, Mr. Su was getting more and more naughty...
At first, his lips were a bit cold, but she was so warm that she quickly heated him up until he was scorching...
When he let her go, his hands rested on her waist, and the warmth of his palms set her skin on fire.
"What time is it? I... need to go home..." She murmured weakly, lying limply in his arms.
"Don’t go, hmm?" he kissed her forehead.
She hesitated a bit, feeling that she was getting bolder and bolder about not going home at night, but also embraced a sense of reckless abandon.
"Why did you come to wait for me at home?" Since you’re here, why leave?
She glanced at him and gave a cheeky smile, "Because I know you’ll miss me!" Actually, she missed him; they hadn’t seen each other today, and it felt like ages. She couldn’t help running over for dinner, catching Sister Qian off guard, having to cook on the spot.
He was taken aback. Was this a meeting of the minds?
Seeing him silent, she clung on, sitting in his lap, kicking her legs, poking at his chest, "Do you miss me?"
The small blanket covering her legs slipped to the floor, revealing her pale feet and a bit of her calf.
Her skin was several shades fairer than her face, probably due to work and being exposed to the elements. He thought about the piles of skincare products Su Rongxing bought from time to time; didn’t she take care of her skin? Considering her life’s trajectory, he felt unsettled.
He answered her without hesitation, "I do." He really did. He picked up the small blanket and covered her, his hand grabbing her foot under the cover.
She was instantly delighted; it was rare for Mr. Su not to argue with her! "Is Mr. Su in a good mood today?" answering whatever she asked, so obedient!
He accomplished something significant today, so he was certainly in a good mood.
He smiled slightly, "Why didn’t you call me when you came home?" so he could come back earlier too!
"I wanted to surprise you!" she said without thinking, "Hope I didn’t scare you!"
He didn’t reply, just tickled her foot.
She kicked her legs trying to shake his hand off but couldn’t and was tickled several more times.
"It tickles! Stop it." she laughed and protested, using her foot to push against him, his hand sliding up her ankle.
Her breathing slowly grew uneven, murmuring, "Xiao Xu..."
"No more going home!" he picked her up and carried her towards the bed.
This time was better; at least when he was asking if it still hurt while breathing warmly into her ear, she didn’t have to lie through gritted teeth and say it didn’t hurt.
It really didn’t hurt, but there wasn’t much joy either...
Yet Mr. Su had to ask how she felt...
She thought about it and waved her hand, "Novels are all lies!"
"..." Su Ronggui’s face darkened.
She didn’t realize she had hurt his pride, wrapped herself up like a cocoon in the blanket, and the sleepiness that had been interrupted came back, making her so drowsy.
She loved the quilts at Xiao Xu’s house, soft, and most importantly, they had his scent, which made her feel like she was walking on clouds and fall asleep easily.
As she dozed off, she felt the blanket empty, with a body pressing against her back. Half asleep, she found it less comfortable than being wrapped in the quilt, too hard, and instinctively moved aside, rolling herself in the quilt again, only to have it pulled away, forcing her to move and roll again...
After a few disturbances, she found herself falling as the quilt rolled off the bed, landing directly on the floor.
Wrapped in a thick quilt, she didn’t hurt herself in the fall, but it did wake her up.
With an angry little face peeking out from the quilt, she glared at the person on the bed, "Why are you squeezing..."
She stopped mid-sentence because the person on the bed was lying there uncovered. Such a hooligan!
"Why aren’t you covered..." she couldn’t finish because the quilt was wrapped around her...
"Can you spare me a bit of the quilt?" the hooligan asked with a face of grievance, as if she was the one who had wronged him...
