Chapter 32: 32. Nathan Moore said, ’This lady is my sister-in-law.
"Congratulations." When Felix Shaw approached, Nathan Moore raised his glass to toast.
Felix Shaw curled his lips faintly, said nothing, and it was apparent he did so reluctantly.
Then he raised his glass and gestured to the Titus Zane sisters as a way of greeting.
As for Mia Foster, her personality was just as fiery as the red dress she wore, both passionate and generous.
Not waiting for Felix Shaw to speak first, she took the initiative to greet him.
"Hello."
"Hello." Nathan Moore clinked glasses with her and took a light sip of the red wine, appearing gentlemanly and courteous.
Mia Foster heartily drained a glass of champagne, then stretched her arm backward, stepping the waiter who was holding a tray behind her forward to take her empty glass and handed her a new one.
Taking the champagne, Mia Foster looked down at Olivia Zane, who was sitting in a wheelchair, and tentatively asked, "This lady is...?"
Olivia Zane curled her lips, about to introduce herself, when behind her, Nathan Moore’s voice preempted her.
"This is my wife’s younger sister."
Olivia Zane...
The color drained from her youthful face in an instant, and her hand holding the champagne unconsciously tightened.
Wife’s younger sister? He actually introduced her to others as his wife’s younger sister.
Mia Foster was taken aback for a moment, showing a slight surprise on her face.
Beyond the surprise, Mia Foster seemed to understand something.
She had been curious before, how could such an outstanding man marry a woman who couldn’t walk, concluding it must be deep love, but she didn’t expect...
The smile at the corner of Mia Foster’s lips inadvertently turned into a sneer.
It seems like true love indeed, otherwise, he wouldn’t bring his young aunt to his own engagement party.
Mia Foster had just returned from studying abroad and knew nothing about the events at Nathan Moore’s wedding.
Nevertheless, she proactively clinked glasses with Olivia Zane, her orange lip-glossed lips slightly lifted, forming a meaningful arc as she spoke.
"Pleased to meet you, the world’s happiest young aunt, having your brother-in-law personally wheel you to the party shows how important you are to him."
Mia Foster, being a straightforward person, detested men who cheat after marriage.
So, regardless of whether there were other people around or not, she spoke out without reserve, her words laced with mockery and sarcasm.
As Olivia Zane’s face turned shades of white and green, Mia Foster threw her head back and downed the champagne in her glass.
Then, lifting her arm, the waiter behind her brought the tray, and Mia Foster placed the empty champagne glass back on it.
Nicholas Croft, having seen the world, faced a bold, unreserved, and meddlesome woman like Mia Foster with raised eyebrows, making no comment.
After all, she wasn’t his woman, and he, along with his brothers, was very aware of the "complicated" relationships within the Moore family; however, no one would speak a word more than necessary.
Nathan Moore’s face showed no particular emotion, a man seasoned in business who kept a calm façade regardless of the severity of the situation. Olivia Zane’s hands trembled slightly holding the champagne, while her other hand, gripping the wheelchair’s armrest, clenched tightly, unaware that her manicured nails were already misshapen.
"Too much."
Felix Shaw scolded in displeasure. He had already disagreed with this marriage, and now, seeing Mia Foster’s aggressive demeanor, he detested her even more.
Women should be like Olivia Zane or Elizabeth White, more gentle, for men to like them.
Thinking of Elizabeth White, Felix Shaw’s disdain for the woman in front of him grew.
Arrogant and domineering, not cute at all.
