Chapter 30: The high society of T city all knows that the eldest lady of the Zane Family is malicious-minded.
Felix Shaw’s engagement party was held at the Yellow Banner Hotel, the top hotel in the city.
As a real estate magnate of the city, celebrities from all walks of life came to congratulate.
In affluent circles, marriages are nothing but business alliances, either a union of strong parties or mutual benefits, none based on free love.
Of course, Nathan Moore and Olivia Zane were exceptions.
In the banquet hall, celebrities and socialites with their wine glasses mingled, exchanging polite small talk and some trying to use this opportunity to network and curry favor.
Titus Zane followed Nathan Moore into the banquet hall. Nathan wore a well-tailored black suit that accentuated his long legs wrapped in black fabric.
Olivia Zane wore a rose-red cocktail dress, her legs uncovered without a blanket, small white leather shoes on her feet, her long hair loosely braided into a centipede braid at the back of her head, adding a ladylike charm to her youthful face.
Titus Zane wore a silver-gray floor-length fishtail evening gown with a simple round neckline and long sleeves, modest yet form-fitting to outline her beautiful curves.
The chest and abdomen area were densely adorned with tiny diamonds, but beneath the semi-transparent fabric, the intermittent appearance of long legs was fatally seductive.
Titus Zane always carried an ethereal beauty, and since she was "confined" by Nathan Moore, she became much colder. Thus, wearing this not-so-bright colored gown added an extra touch of chilliness to her beauty.
The appearance of the trio caught the attention of many.
In T-city, all high society knew that the President of MO Group fancied the younger Miss Zane, but he married the elder Miss Zane instead. It is said...
The elder Miss Zane, wicked in thoughts, pushed her sister down the stairs on her wedding day, took her place in the bridal car, all to marry this influential man in T-city’s business world.
In the banquet hall, many had attended Nathan Moore’s wedding, thus they were "eyewitnesses" to the events.
Nathan Moore, pushing the wheelchair, led the way while Titus Zane followed by his side with a pale face lightly made up, her long hair casually draped to the left without any special adornment.
Nicholas Croft came over, champagne glass in hand, nodding at Titus Zane as a greeting, then deliberately ignoring Olivia Zane in the wheelchair, and greeted Nathan Moore.
"You’re here."
"Yes," Nathan nodded lightly, "When did you arrive, Big Brother?"
"Been here for a while."
In T-city’s business world, Nathan Moore, Nicholas Croft, and Felix Shaw were famously close, known as the "Iron Triangle."
Nicholas Croft, being older by two years than Nathan, was respectfully called Big Brother, while Felix was the youngest, thus the youngest brother.
"Nicholas, you seem handsomer than before," Olivia Zane initiated conversation flirtatiously.
Nicholas Croft looked down at her, his thin lips curving slightly in a courtesy.
"You’ve also become prettier."
"Really? Don’t trick me, Nicholas," Olivia Zane exaggeratedly covered her cheeks.
Nicholas Croft curved his lips again, but said nothing.
If Nathan Moore was considered cold, then Nicholas Croft in comparison was even more distant.
In the entertainment industry, though his company signed many artists, Nicholas Croft was known to wander through the flowers untouched, a thirty-year-old man with no women around him, no scandals, and many even speculated about his sexual orientation daily.
