Chapter 27: 27. Sir is not a stone, how can he not care about you (second update)

Titus Zane had never thought of becoming enemies with his own younger sister, although they often clashed in their childhood.

But now it seems, it’s not something he can avoid simply by not wanting it.

His sister Olivia Zane had clearly targeted Nathan Moore’s hatred towards him, hence, she turned her distinct kindness into a sharp sword, thrusting it through Nathan’s hands.

Swallowing half a piece of toast whole, Titus Zane’s cold eyes shifted back to the man who was eating breakfast methodically, his slightly lifted chin was his only dignity and defiance.

"Mr. Moore, may I leave now?"

"Get out!" A single word, utterly devoid of warmth.

Titus Zane tugged at his lips in a cold sneer, turned around, and walked toward the staircase.

Watching the embarrassed figure of his sister, Olivia Zane’s lips curled up in a barely noticeable smile.

Withdrawing her gaze, she turned to look at Nathan Moore, who had a sullen expression, and pouted in dissatisfaction.

"Nathan, look at you, losing your temper for no reason. Sister hasn’t even finished her breakfast..."

Nathan Moore lifted his head, sending a cold glance her way. Although he didn’t say anything, Olivia Zane captured the complex emotions in his eyes, and paused momentarily.

In her memory, this was the first time Nathan had treated her with such cold detachment.

Even though this man was typically indifferent, he was exceptionally patient and gentle with her.

She tugged at her lips, about to say something, but Nathan had already shifted his gaze back and continued eating his breakfast.

Early spring, the weather still very cold, Titus Zane sat on the viewing platform wrapped in a thick shawl, gazing at the outside scenery in a trance.

The villa was huge, and she was the only one living on this level, which made it feel spacious yet empty.

Yet, she still felt suffocated, so she sat on the viewing platform despite the spring chill, hoping to get some air.

There was a knock on the door outside her room, followed by a few more knocks before Aunt Liu pushed open the door and entered.

In her hands, she carried a tray with the breakfast that Titus Zane hadn’t finished.

"Miss, your breakfast," Aunt Liu walked into the bedroom, placed the tray on the small round table, and neatly arranged the juice, toast, and ham.

"Aunt Liu, I’ve eaten already."

Titus Zane wrapped her shawl tighter around herself, her cold demeanor unswayed by the fact the family maid had brought her unfinished breakfast.

Because she knew her position in this villa all too well, if it weren’t for the house owner’s orders, Aunt Liu would not treat her with such attentiveness.

Aunt Liu awkwardly smiled and advised.

"Miss, don’t be too strong-willed. The master may seem cold, but he is actually very concerned about you..."

"No need, Aunt Liu, take the food out,"

Titus Zane stood up and returned to sit down on the wicker chair by the small round table.

"Miss, please don’t make things difficult for me," Aunt Liu said, wringing her hands, "The master said there’s a rule in the house against wasting food. He also said if Miss were to waste the food, I should leave on my own initiative."

Aunt Liu felt helpless, the master was obviously concerned about whether Miss had enough breakfast, especially since she’s still in her postpartum period. Talking about a rule against wasting food, yet where was there a day without leftover food in the house.

Titus Zane lifted her gaze to Aunt Liu, her cold eyes conveying a formidable, undeniable presence.

"Was it Nathan Moore’s order?"

"Yes," Aunt Liu nodded, sensing something amiss, she quickly added with a smile,

"The master is worried you haven’t eaten enough, so he had me bring this up."

Titus Zane scoffed coldly, "Hmph, as if he would be so kindhearted."

"Miss, please don’t speak like that. With a day as husband and wife, a hundred days of grace follow. You and the master have been married for so long, and he isn’t a stone-hearted person, how could he not care for you," Aunt Liu continued earnestly advocating for Nathan, while Titus spoke impatiently,

"I understand, you can go now," she had no mood to talk about that jerk.
