Chapter 85: THANK YOU

"Let me help you to the room, Senior." Dante volunteered.

No matter how much willpower Senior Sterling showed, everyone could see that his health was not doing well, and his age had largely taken over.

Though he had been doing this things with happiness, and a wide smile on his lips. His body was the total opposite.

As little Gavriel looked at his great grandpa being assisted to the attached room, he looked at his mother who just finished calling Butler Joe, asking him to come over soon. He then asked Dove in his baby-ish tone, "Momma, can I go and accompany great grandpa? In case he needs a company or something?"

Dove looked back at her son who stared at her with those innocent eyes, that too held concern for the old man. She nodded smally and said, "Hm, alright. You can. But make sure not to disturb or annoy him, alright. Great grandpa needs a lots of rest right now."

Gavriel nodded his head seriously and said, "Yes mamma! I would not at all disturb or annoy, great Grandpa at all."

Seeing her say it like that, Dove smiled at her son and nodded her head, "Alright, you can go."

And he slowly entered the longue. He saw that Dante had just helped Senior Sterling lay down on his back, after giving him his medicine. Noah had also followed him in, in case there was some need. But there was no such need.

Gavriel slowly climbed up the couch next to the bed, before he kept his little bag aside, and sat with his legs folded and said, "Great Grandpa, I am here. If you need something you can tell me."

Senior Sterling turned to look at the little boy, as he smiled, numerous wrinkles appearing on his face and he said, "Thank you, Gavi dear for accompanying me."

And the little boy smiled ear to ear, pleased that he was coming to help his great grandpa.

Senior Sterling then turned to the other two men in the room, and said with a slight shake of his hand, "You both can leave now to do your own work. This old man just needs to lay a little bit. Don’t act like nurses now."

Seeing Senior Sterling get back to hhd bantering self, the two men chuckled, before they nodded and turned to leave, closing the door behind them.

Till then, Grace had talked about Dove about where they would be starting their work. Everything that she needed was there in her office. And she said, "Then CEO Dove, I am going to my office. I will bring you the reports once I am done."

Dove nodded her head and then remembering something, she said, "Uh, and your office..?"

Grace nodded at Dove and said, "I have already been showed my office. I will just get it done."

As Dove left, Noah looked over at Dove. If he could follow his heart, he would perhaps bring everything from his office to come and settle here in front of her. But that wasn’t possible was it.

So he cleared his throat and said, "I am leaving too. I will send you the reports of the recent products in a while." He said to which Dove looked over at him before simply nodding her head and said, "Hm, alright."

That was it, what should be. But Noah still felt disheartened. Maybe it would be better if she told him a word or two more?

He had just turned and taken a step or two, when he heard Dove’s voice, "Mr Lancaster, I have something to tell you."

And at this, Noah for a split second froze.

Her voice right now was so soft, unlike the tone she had just now talking about work with him or even Grace. It was very subtle, but he somehow noticed it.

But Noah stood there for only a split second, before he took a deep breath, trying to move away all this thoughts from his mind. He was just thinking too much without that did not many any sense. It wasn’t good.

Meanwhile, Dove and Dante were left in the room. Dante stood in his place, hearing her say that. He then saw her take steps towards him before she came to stand in front of him. She then smiled at him. The smile was very genuine, different than the polite or formal smiles that she had to always usually carry around and give people.

"Yes Miss Dove? Do you need something?" Dante asked her. His voice a tad bit low. Well, no one can blame him. His heart was hammering in his chest looking at the beautiful smile on her lips.

Dove shook her head and said, "Thank you so much."

This time her words too him by surprise and he looked at her with his one eyebrow slightly raised, "Huh?" What for, he thought.

"Back then, I don’t know what got into me but I all of a sudden turned so much nervous. It isn’t the first time I am facing such a crowd, or cameras or whatever. I don’t know what just happened, and I started getting all kinds of weird thoughts, and-"

Dove couldn’t find the right words to express her thoughts at that point and she started jumbling a little with her words, to which Dante cut in and said, "It’s alright, Miss Dove. You don’t have to explain anything to me."

He chuckled, and then said, "What happened, i understand very well. And it is natural. And not a big deal at all."

Dove opened her mouth, and then closed before smiling again, and said, "I know that. But I just want to say that thank you so much for whispering those things to me there.

I don’t know if you would believe, but that was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment."

Dante felt his heart doing a tango dance as he nodded his head and said, "I completely understand, Miss Dove. And you are most welcome about it. In fact, it is my duty."
