Chapter 147: EITHER THIS OR NOTHING

"Well, if it makes you feel good, then once I become the owner of ten percent of your company, then we can resume the deals from which the Sterling corporation had pulled out from. At least, you will have something good in this situation."

She then shrugged and taking a sip of the water from the glass, said casually, "This is my end of bargain, if you are satisfied with it, then you may proceed with it. And if you are not content, then no need to waste your or time time here. You may be. And this piece of information belongs to me. After that, you will have nothing to do with how I would like to put that to use.

You are some what smart, Mr Philip, please make your decision fast. If you remember that you have crashed during our family breakfast time. And I am already not appreciating it. Please don’t waste more time."

It was evident that, Dove was not even ready to give them more time to even think of a way out. Not that the Davis’s could see anything right now.

A couple more minutes passed, and the only one who seemed to look relaxed was Dove. And Senior Sterling too, who picked up a magazine and going through it, completely trying to cut himself off the drama. And that had indeed turned the atmosphere a little awkward for the Davis family and Freya. Dante was there enjoying the drama, and more Dove, on how she had cornered them, and how cool she looked at the moment.

Noah, who felt a slight bit of that awkward atmosphere, did not bother about it much, because he was more busy admiring the stressed look on the Davis family’s face. It would not be wrong to say that he border line hated them. Noah would not forget how the Davis family would pass comments and judgements on him, for being adopted. Though, they would not outrightly be offensive, but their concealed taunts were equally jabbing.

And he was specially enjoying the conflicted look on Roan’s face. He from the very young age, never liked Roan, and almost had a one sided competition with him to show that he w3as better. Specially, since Dove was engaged to him, and by no means he would allow Roan to be better than him in her eyes. And now that Dove herself was picking on him, Roan felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction. Hmph!

But Freya, she did share the awkwardness. Firstly, because she did not have anything to do with it. And secondly, she had always maintained a good relationship with the Davis’s family even after the engagement had been called off. And she had always remained in contact with Cara. But right now, the situation seemed so off. And she just kept her mouth shut.

After what seemed eternity for the Davis’s, and while Dove checked on her wrist watch, it was Philip who finally said, "And how can we be sure that after that the shares that you ask for, you wouldn’t target the Davis Enterprise anymore with that thing you have in your hand?"

Dove blinked her eyes once, and then again, before she sighed and shook her head. "Mr Philip, did I not just a while ago call you a little smart? Then now, with all due respect, I take it back. No, you are not at all smart. If I am going to have ten percent of that shares, and would have profit, do I look like an idiot to hit an hammer on my own legs?"

And her words made sense.

After a little while, Philip and Roan shared a look, before nodding their heads, and then looking at Dove, he said with a lot of reluctancy, "Fine, we agree." And as soon as those words left his mouth, it felt as if dark clouds loomed over the Davis’s.

Meanwhile, Dove stood up with a smile, and smoothened her dress, before nodding in approval, and she said, "Very well, CEO Philip, you have made an excellent decision. Though through a lot of drama. Anyway, my assistant would very soon contact you on when we would complete the paper work. I hope everything works out smoothly." Dove said as if she had not just blackmailed them to agree to her condition. Well, even if so, it was their fault. Then she with a smile asked, "So, me and my family would like to resume out breakfast. Would you like to join?" She asked blinking her eyes.

To which, Philip looked at her with gritted teeth, and huffed. Swallowing his anger, he said, "Thank you, Miss Dove. But our stomachs are already filled enough by the turn of events. Let us take our leave." And saying so, the Davis family left one by one with their teeth gritted and a lot of suppressed hatred and anger in their hearts.

Nothing, absolutely nothing had gone the way they had thought while coming here. What only happened is that things started going south, and it continued going until the worst happened.

Cara, on the other hand had her hands shaking slightly as she left. She would slowly raise her head to look at her husband’s back, and just by thinking about the possibility of what could possibly happen once they go back home, a chill ran down her spine. And along with the fear, she still felt anger towards Dove, thinking that it was all her fault. That she had already planned all of this from the very start, and made her a scrape goat.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Roan was having kind of mixed feelings in his heart. It was in evitable that he was very angry, with how everything turned out. And now they had to give away ten percent of their company to Dove! He was actually losing a part of his mind. But then again, strangely enough, when he turned back one last time before leaving, and saw the dazzling smile on Dove’s face, he stiffened for a moment.

So, she would be more around them, in that case, isn’t it? Strangely that realisation made him feel somewhat good. But Roan in his consious state of mind did not really want to acknowledge it.
